Some business getting big Flo signed up. He's about as close to a complete striker that we could hope to sign and it sounds like we've got him for a bargain. The recruitment side of things has been absolute flames in the last few years.

Reckon this will be similar to when Cummings signed a new deal, then went for fairly cheap. Don't have any info to suggest that, just seems like the obvious hand to play from his agents. Either way we've signed a class player who we'll probably sell at a very dece profit.

Don't want to be one of those cretins who relates everything his club does to their rivals, but Hearts' current business is making me even more thankful for who we have running our club.

I agree with all of your points. Flo is quality with bags of potential, but will be attracting more teams down south if he keeps up his form. Quality of quantity so far for our signings.

  2. Big weeks ahead. I think avoiding defeats against the top 3 would be decent, if we can pick up a win or two, even better. Will be some cracking atmosphere at the OF home games. Every bit of chance against celtic, will be tough against the ****, especially if they have McInnes in charge, but Aberdeen seem to be off the boil, so there for the taking.

  3. Delighted we've got Stokesy in. Remained confident throughout preseason that he would. Obviously would've liked him to have bee signed earlier to get him to scratch, but better late than never! Imo we only really need one, maybe two more in just to give us a bit more depth. We've assembled an impressive squad so far, and all on permanent deals which is even more pleasing. Can't wait for the season to start now

  4. Watched the game on TV and thought we played some nice stuff, still a bit rusty here and there but some more games in this competition will get us up-to speed. I was impressed with Swanson, thought he linked well with Murray and the rest of the midfield. I thought Boyle looked dangerous in the first half, final ball is lacking to be fair though. Was good to see Whittaker, poor pen, but thought he looked tidy and will get better with match fitness. Defensively we looked solid. Said the same after the Montrose game, we lost our momentum when Dylan came off and graham then went on. Thought S.Murray tried hard and was unfortunate at times, but he needs a strike partner imo. F.Murray came on and got a few touches but we given little time on the ball by County.

All in all, I was pleased with the performance, Lennon knows where we need strengthening, and he's addressing this with bringing in Big Dave, and hopefully Stokes. I don't think anyone really quite knows where this Slivka lad plays in midfield, but with fyvie leaving I say we are a tad thin so will trust Lennon.

  5. Was at the game yesterday. Was impressed with Porteous, thought he was solid in the tackle and sprayed a couple of great balls, looked years ahead of himself. Fraser Murray was a tidy player as well, linked well with others in the first half and took his goal well, I hope he'll stick around in the first team this year. I liked the look of Simon Murray, as said already, a bit rough round the edges, missed two 1 vs 1s I believe, but took his two goals well. Lost our touch when mcgeouch went off and we went to 442, I was hoping for more from Boyle who had been in good pre season form, but he did assist the 3rd. Gray didn't play too well going forward, he seems to just take that extra touch in stead of putting in the middle. But all in all a pleasing result, county on Friday will be a good test.

  6. Great servant to the club, never been the most technically talented but would sure run through a brick wall for the club. Can't make the game but hope there's a good turnout! Gutted there won't be any ex players from either of the cup winning teams, but i suppose its very Lewis to keep it down to earth. Also good to try and get one over the mackems :P

  7. Unfortunate about Fyvie, leaves a Hibs legend though. I think he screwed himself over by originally rejecting our offer, probably expecting other offers, then turning back on that, or at least according to what reports have said. Surprised he's not going to a top division side, unless United are offering a better deal compared to the likes of St johnstone, I thought he was destined for another side in the Prem. Regardless, united get a good quality midfielder.

  8. Lafferty is a weird one, I also don't like him due to his cheating exploits at Rangers, but his international goal scoring record is impressive. I think he'd obviously be an improvement of what we have currently, but that's not too difficult to do. Tbh I would be happy if he didn't sign for either us or hearts, best case scenario
