  1. Nothing but unsubstantiated speculation following his winner vs France at Hampden. I recall a substantial section of the hampden crowd that day singing about his manhood on the way out of the ground.
  2. Rumours of Caldwell and a substantial package.
  3. Paton is exactly the type we needed after signing all these young ballers. I'm not fussed that he is limited in ability so long as he puts a shift in across the front of our defence and breaks play up. Im confident he will do that well. We will have enough creativity elsewhere to do the rest.
  4. Worth remembering that Hartley used McGhee as a sitting midfielder a few times towards the end of the season as well. I thought he was quite effective there.
  5. I'm not sure some folk will last a full minute to be honest.
  6. I suspect it would be an angry and sorrowful tome if written by shodwall on today's form.
  7. Buggerlugs. I can't wait for that conversation. Cheers for clarifying.
  8. You would like to think but I'm not sure the system is that smart. After logging in and changing password as directed, Instead of renewing an old ticket it just took me to the same new purchase page that everyone is using. Not convinced they are linking up old with new.
  9. I've just renewed online for my nephew and I but it didn't give me any option to put a name against each season ticket. It would appear I am getting two tickets in my name as I paid for them. Anyone had the same issue? Surely this can't be correct.
  10. The fecking about last season was all on sibbs to be honest. He could easily have signed earlier and avoided the mess but instead chose to tout himself elsewhere. We tried to do right by him then but I'm not surprised we have been a bit more cut throat about it this year.
  11. It took him a bit longer than that last season. One thing is for certain, it is better sorted now than dragging out all summer again.
  12. That's all very well in a big squad. Hartley won't be able to have passengers for the beginning of the season and for every Suarez situation there are plenty of other players who do go in the cream puff and who clearly are affected form wise throughout the remainder of the season. Bottom line is Hartley has made a call and decided he'd rather get someone else in.
  13. Aye but mind that time we spunked money on John Stewart though.
  14. I'm not sure this is us being 'soft as shite' as you put it. The board clearly wanted to protect their position last season which presumably Houston supported. Hartley clearly sees it differently however and would rather not force a player to stay if his heart isn't in it. Todays news seems like a reasonable compromise to me.
  15. The Miller factor might come into play as well. Could go one of two ways though. Miller will either tell him what a top club we are and how amazing the fans are or he'll have nothing good to say about Hartley and that'll be that. I suspect, as you say, we will be third in line anyway.
  16. I haven't seen enough of Fraser to have witnessed the shitebaggery. All I know is that anytime I have seen him he has stood out as being a real handful. You could say that has a lot to do with how shite the rest of the players on the pitch have been however. He does seem injury prone though and that alone should rule him out for us if we are to operate with a small squad next season.
  17. Scott Fraser or Sam Stanton would walk into our team.
  18. Part of my negativity towards the thought of a signing like that stems from the fact that I'm gagging for us to sign a couple of players with known quality. My impatience is growing by the day which I understand is completely ridiculous at this early stage.
  19. I agree. I wouldn't touch any of the Dundee utd defensive rejects to be honest. Not after how crap they have been at the back for the last few seasons.
  20. Go on, give us a but more to chew on please. What have you heard?
  21. Either way. I won't be upset if longridge and Welsh don't sign. I'd take longridge as a squad player but Welsh would be a mistake. Big decision for sibbs but he has a real chance to be our linchpin next season and get a decent move of the back of a successful season. If he goes just now I suspect he won't be in a great position in terms of contract negotiations at a new club.
  22. It's perhaps more the thought that if they sign they know it would be as backup as opposed to playing every week. Potentially other clubs offering first team football for slightly less money. You can see why it is a difficult call for those guys if that is the case.
  23. Itching for the pre season games now. Not necessarily for the results but more so that we can get a glimpse of these new boys and form some opinions of our own. A summer of not knowing if we have signed champs or chumps is going to irritate the hell out of me.
  24. Well one example would be our lauding of Campbell one week due to the fresh approach to communication and then a seeming urge to have him removed soon after due to a mountain made out of a molehill. I'm all for holding people to account but at least give the guy some time to see if he makes a real difference with what actually matters at the club.
  25. Because we aren't marching on the stadium doesn't mean we aren't fickle. You only have to read back a few pages on this thread to see that.
