Mark Ross the obvious replacement, the man is clueless though.

Think mark is a decent lad but because he is a decent lad I dont think he would touch it with a bargepole. I cant see anyone wanting it and I believe they will end up packing it in

Knowing how these leagues/committee's work then it's very difficult ! Go on,be brave and do 12/12/10 /10 just for the next season, should be ok to play around 20 games with some cups. Show me a committee who work for the good of the game - not self interests, and I think I'd collapse !  Think things may change when most of the senior schools are back open, see how they work.

The shambles at senior level is all about self interest because of the financial implications. That comes first before the actual good of the game however I dont see where self interest comes into it with ayrshire committee?? Theres no financial gain involved in how they split the leagues. Their only thought is fixtures by trying to ensure leagues arent finished too early or late. They cant win because they wont ever please everyone. Someone will always have a gripe. People come on here and moan but I have been to my fair share of league formation meetings and no one says a dickie bird. They just patiently wait on the cup draws. The 2a and 2b leagues turned out to be disastrous but I was at that particular meeting and I recall just one person who expressed his views against it and it was unanimously voted in! They ask for input but very rarely have I seen any given.

The next agm and league formation meetings will be the most important ever and let's see if there's people who will help the committee out with ideas. I wont be holding my breath. They will wait till afterwards and then take to a forum for a swipe at how big a c**t of it they made

You have more chance of being knocked down with a bus and dying than dying of Covid-19 if you're of an age that you can play football still.

It's not impossible that you could pick it up and die when you are young with no underlying health issues, but that's the same with any type of illness or virus. You see young people dying of cancer etc as well but in terms of the actual risk of that happening, it's miniscule.

We can't hold the world back forever for a virus that's not dangerous to 99% of us.

You dont know it's a minuscule risk. People of all ages have died thru this virus, from new born babies to the old and infirm. The world has been locked down as a result of this so it must be serious enough to us all.  We all want the world to return to normal, we are all struggling in one way or another but why put hundreds of people at risk to kick a ball about a park before we are sure it's ok to do so? We all miss the football but why rush back, run the risk of infecting hundreds more and then find ourselves back to square one again?

  4. I can't believe people actually believe the amateur game has a chance of returning this year. We will be lucky to be playing at this time next year. Amateur football cant possibly return until theres a vaccine. Leagues at senior level with millions of pounds at their disposal have no idea when they will return so how on earth can we possibly play at amateur level? Its simple....if you cant get tested then you cant play, manage, officiate etc

A few big signings on the horizon, Reid fisher from new farm being one

His name has been flung about at more clubs than just thistle these past few weeks. The first signing thistle will make from new farm will be their manager. From what I hear the majority of new farm are joining up with big denim at Galston

Does a suspension carry over to following session for bookings in seniors football ?

I'm sure morelos got an extra game ban this season for picking up X amount of bookings in one of the domestic cups  last season

Again Cunny I do agree. It was a great day for the club and the community and it was a shame to see that he couldn't play. Clubs are the ones that need to try and force these rule changes through tho. Although something as big as that change is likely needing to come all the way from the Big boys at the SFA. Personally I'd make it Finals only tho. Start with semi finals and next thing people will be wanting title deciders treated the same way. Who is it that's suspended mate or would u rather not say

Especially frustrating if you’ve had a good season, worked hard and on course to potentially be successful, must be a kick in the teeth.

It definitely is but the league had to do it. It's got to be about planning for the future of the game now rather than hanging on to complete one season

Dunno about other associations but aye ur right Ayrshire has confirmed leagues and cups null and void and national and regional cups completed at earliest available date.

Its frustrating but it's the right call

Where has this been confirmed mate? Is this an SAFA blanket decision for all associations?

Ayrshire afa have confirmed this mate not sure if it applies to all amateur leagues though

  12. I honestly cant understand the delay with the amateur game. Just call it now and void the season. Sure some people wont be happy but its not as if theres financial implications like there is in the professional game. Let teams know now and be done with it and at least clubs no they will be starting afresh whenever this has ran its course.

Attitudes like mine?? emoji1787.pngemoji1787.png what attitude is that? Someone having a different opinion from you ?? f**k me u sound like one of the pampered superstars I'm talking about. I dont believe it will make a difference to participating numbers. Maybe crowds. If that's an attitude issue then ur maybe better staying off forums

Opinions vary. Everyone is allowed one and no one will know who is right or wrong until its experimented. I don't think it would ever have been so with what's going on in the world right it gives us that opportunity. If it fails, it won't be difficult to avert back

I can honestly say iv never heard of a player not playing due to weather. If u have players like that u really need shot of them. I know thats a common training excuses but surely not a game. This generation of players are already pampered enough now we are tslling about restructuring over 100 years of football to accommodate it.

Without players you dont have a game. Simple. I agree they are pampered but even in the professional game players have it all their own way. Like it or loathe it this is the way football is currently. Summer football would increase interest on and off the park massively, I dont really think theres any doubt about that. Sure clubs might find themselves missing a player or two july/august time but that's the only slight negative I can see

I'm clearly in the minority but regardless of my opinion. Its hardly un natural or unprecedented. It took the Lee's 3/4 attempted to play the first game of the season this season. That's when everyone elses games were on. Was that down to unnatural weather or more than likely the early season squad we had available? The weather isn't gona solve Amateur problems. Far from it. Yes more people may want to watch the games but going by the vast majority of seasons teams are weaker on the park May - September.

I'm my experience our squad is weaker in the winter. Boys waking up in the morning and saying f**k playing in that. Yes holidays will play a part in summer football of course but imo the positives outweigh the negatives

  16. Without repeating every one else but it's also a no brainer for me as well. This unprecedented crisis also gives us the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl. The interest on and off the park during the lighter nights and better weather will be night and day by comparison to the way it is at the moment. Crowds are at an all time low and its purely because of the conditions. Seeing 90% of matches played on grass has to be a good thing too. Not just because that's where the game should be played but also the money it will save clubs will be welcomed massively. Player interest will double overnight and I think it could save the amateur game which I'm sure we will agree has been on its arse for a couple of seasons now

  17. My personal opinion is they have to find some way of finishing it. No matter if it takes to August or whatever. Then restart next season around October and we would have the summer football we all want. The back end of the season big games all played in the summer.

I fully understand banning football matches at the highest level with possibly 50/60 K in attendance. However the reasoning for this isn't solely about the spread of the virus, as they believe theres only a small chance of this, but more about freeing up paramedics, police etc which is a very sensible decision.

Banning football at grassroots, amateur and junior level perplexes me a little when we have customer service workers taking our cash from our hands every day. We have cleaners, janitors etc putting themselves in harms way every day now. Bar staff will still be serving us our pints this weekend as we will be sitting in the boozer instead of out in the fresh air playing or taking in football matches. Kids are still permitted to go to school. The list goes on of people having to do their daily duties putting themselves at far greater risk than what they would be kicking a ball this weekend and for the foreseeable.

Make no mistake I am not making light of this unique and frightening situation we face but I dont believe banning football matches at these levels is necessary when you consider all of the above.

    Just my opinion of course

Difference is these people do that for a living. You cant force someone not to work and not pay them for a month
