  1. Quote of the day from a punter on the Palmerston terrace

" Rangers bring on a boy from Spurs & we bring on a boy from Sandside " :)

I want the boy from Sandside to get a start on Saturday especially with Lyle out. At his young age , he is obviously raw but the boy has shown great appetite for the game. For a slight build he showed some very good body strength in holding off the challenge before netting on Sunday . He is getting there !
  2. A free kick 25 yard away where in the same match a QOS goal which couldve been ruled out for a Queens player taking out two players giving the Queens player a free header..... I know which one Id rather have

Damn , you have too good a memory.------- I don't necessarily think refs ( not all anyway) go out to make sure the old firm win . For starters , the old firm have been that far ahead of everyone for years that they dont need much help from the officials . When things have been a bit tricky though, refs have shown human weakness and taken the easy way out . In that I mean for example why anger 45,000 at Ibrox/Parkhead by denying a penalty if it means getting abuse by thousands of nutters and scrutinised by the Old Firm press. Their homes have also been attacked in the past don't forget . Far easier to deny a Motherwell claim or whatever and better for your refereeing career also. The incident on Sunday was a case in point for me . He would have been far more hesitant in sending a Rangers player straight off especially if they were not winning. As for us , instinctively he knows its only little Queens and it would blow over quickly if he did flash a straight red. It has been amusing in recent years when Celtic go out of Europe and their fans are slating whatever continental ref 'robbed' them. These officials have not cared less who Celtic were or thought they were and just officiated the game without any pressure at all. Often to Sellicks great unhappiness because they are just not used to not getting their own way ( when required) .
  3. In the past they have, I dont think there has been any decisions like the SPL days, their not famous anymore...

Can I ask was there any contentious decisions last season in the 6 games between yourself and Rangers ?

For the record there was none in our four games, whereas the SPL days there was probably at least one or more a season

We have had Vaulks booked three times this season for timewasting, one perhaps harsh but by the rules if you kick the ball away, you risk the booking, similar to Lyle, if you put your head forwards with intent like he did even without contact, you risk the red card. The same situation in any other game versus anyone else in the league would have seen the same punishment, yep the Rangers player shouldve been yellow carded but if Lyle didnt move his forward head movement after the initial head to head and neither player was booked, would there be an outcry for a booking ?

Their play off goal at Palmerston came from a free kick awarded to them that was actually a foul on our defender. Was a brilliant strike from direct free kick though by left back who's name escapes me at this moment .
  4. I'm sure it was a head to head like the initial coming together with Lyle and the Rangers defender and TBH they should just send off any player that goes for that tribal movement, to send Lyle off for a movement with intent with no contact, then players who go head to head with contact is surely intent also I would say.

Id heard Lovell state the Boyd thing amongst other stuff, but felt he had his QOS tinted specs on with a lot of the decisions, I thot McCall was pretty fair considering he could have his Rangers tinted specs but Ive never known him to be like that.

I have watched our football for a long time as I am sure you have also. These decisions have - in the main- benefited rangers through the years / decades and nothing much will change . We just have to accept , no matter how harsh the decision, and move on.It will be some other opponent next time.
  5. You are taking it too seriously MT, it's only a bit of banter.

I came back hoping to be able to post my thoughts on all things QOS related without suffering personal attacks or witnessing them but there are too many arseholes about who can't have decent discussions.

I don't mind banter but it goes beyond it at times, anyway have fun, I leave it to the pegs and macwatts.

Typical huffy , girly behaviour . You mention me twice ( obsessed) when I wouldn't have darkened your door ever again . No doubt the arsehole tag is directed here as well . Oh how I would like to be introduced to you in person.
  6. Dont go expecting goals from Millar shots and keep him off penalties

Struggling to understand the Id rather be in the Petrofac cup than the league cup, the petrofac cup may offer winnable games but each tie will run at a loss till the final. I think thats the first time Ive read someone saying they'd rather be in the petrofac cup to the league cup

I remember Millar scoring a pen against us the tail of the season before last for Falkirk. Last minute effort and big Zander Clark tried hard to put him off .
  7. JRS, I actually thought the scoreline flattered Queens. We were outfought, out-thought and outperformed. Having seen Morton a few times last season and Declan McManus away thought they would be our whipping boys this season and a certainty for relegation. What do I know or VT know, obviously little as we both were of the impression Jim Duffy would take them to ignominious failure?

I was surprised that the BBC data had us on 52% possession and Morton 48% but anyway they looked the more hungrier team and also our keeper was very good. You could see it wasn't going to be our night and no surprise the ball somehow stayed out at the end . We will have better days and plenty chances to redeem ourselves.
  8. I don't know what is classed as a doom monger, my so called negative posts were mainly aimed at managers who were dicking about with the team.

If you want to know who takes this and other sites seriously then have a word with pegleg who likes to drive posters away.

Alas, I was so wrong . I reckoned you had disappeared under your stone , realising how ridiculous your tales of woe were looking in the face of continuing good Queens form. I now get a sense of achievement in that I apparently curtailed your dark offerings for a few months at least . If these - and I know its early days - attractive QoS performances can be maintained then I feel you might begin to question your raison d'etre again and vanish . Lastly, you started the personal stuff, not me .
  9. Dont worry, Im sure Flash will be along soon to tell us how bad the team we've beaten are

That's correct . After all it wasn't St.Mirren , the rangers , Hibs etc. It was Dumbarton who had previously beaten Hibs and St.Mirren but of course that doesnt count . For a team with our modest support , we really cannot be expecting better than what we are getting . In fact , we are doing far better than what we should be and some should wake up and take a reality check.
