Probably not tbf, but it was definitely still being mentioned a few years ago im sure.
People tend to use cup runs to justify managers when the reality is that it's easier to win cups than leagues.
Yogi and Stubbs are good examples.

Most likely.
Was actually hoping since he got Keith Watson and Corr so wrong it would actually only be a couple of weeks and not the 6. Hopefully get an update this week but any signings aside he’s key to reversing this slump.
Noticed QP are set to announce Callum Davidson as their new manager. Fantastic appointment if it comes to fruition and the last thing we need if he’s in before the weekend.
Is it? Most St Johnstone fans said he was pretty inept even though he was girly successful.

To claim a sizeable number of our fans were behind the Goodwillie signing is completely disingenuous. Much like the incident on Tuesday, the decisions of a handful of people don't reflect on the full support.

Brilliant from the club on this one.
No Dan O’Reilly or Sam Stanton in photos.
Stanton will be doing rehab work if he's in so will likely have a different training time to the rest of the squad. As mentioned, O'Reilly is in other photos.

The club will do their business as they've done already. Folk were resigned to losing Stanton and he agreed a new deal. They've said they'll chat after Saturday so we'll see how it goes.

An absolutely ridiculously fun season from our perspective as you'd imagine. This is only the third time there's been two teams on 40+ points at the half way mark since it's moved to 3 points a game.
We've scored 16 times in the final 15 minutes of matches, with numerous last minute winners. In three of those games we were trailing with 5 minutes to go, and went on to take all 3 points.
There have been long running hoodoos which have been shattered. We'd not beaten Caley since the early 2000s and have now won against them twice. We'd not won at East End Park in a decade and have went there this season and won three times.
Murray has done brilliant to add to the squad to provide strength in depth. Stanton and Easton have both been the two standouts, and Lewis Vaughan is top scorer in the league.
In our last two home games, we looked quite flat, and understandably there's a feeling that with their financial pulling power United should have an edge, but we got back to winning ways in the derby.
Whatever happens, this has been one of the most enjoyable to be supporting the club. There's a real unity between those involved with the club and the supporters at the moment. With Ian Murray and Stanton both committing to new contracts it's hard not to have belief that if it's not this season, we're going to be in a great position next season to kick on.

I'm not really interested in the wee shitehouses giving the boy a doing - does anyone know if the boys alright?
Aye, he seems to be doing well. I'd imagine that he's been pretty overwhelmed over the last 24 hours. Hopefully he'll be back to games in the future and not be put off by the incident.

It should be noted, the Halliday rumour has come about from TransferScot twitter account, which effectively picks names and clubs out the hat and occasionally gets one or two right.
The Ian Murray announcement recently showed that - not one person was on here or twitter before hand saying "Murrayball for 3 more years".

Seen that the absolute wet wipe is now greeting to folk in our support that they're sorry and that they were 'doing it in self defence'.
Happy enough when it was 15 to 1 but all apologetic when the clubs have started to investigate, the police will undoubtedly be contacted and it turns into something with police involvement.
These folk really do have to be incredibly thick to go through with it and then upload the video for clout.

A well ground out win today. Away game in a Derby and a bit of a slog is a game we could easily have lost last season and after the last two games and cheap dropped points this was all about getting the 3 points.
Thought Scott Brown was excellent in the main today and a real stand out. Shaun Byrne needs to be signed at all costs. He is excellent at what he does.
Watching Easton in the warm up I wasn’t surprised by his showing. I’m usually a massive fan of him but he had one today. He is rarely mentioned but I really don’t see what Josh Mullen brings to the team. IM is clearly a fan however and there is a reason he is where he is and I’m sitting on the sofa typing this!
If Josh Mullin doesn't play today, you're sitting on your sofa bumping your gums that we've lost 1-0 and that United are away with the league title.

It might just be me, but 'We scored a goal against Raith Rovers' isn't quite something to put down as an accomplishment given that in the last week we've conceded a goal to a substitute goalkeeper who was deputising as a centre forward due to an injury crisis.

Brian is the lad who was deleting any posts which were critical of the Dunfermline board in the run up to their admin, wasn't he?

Should be mentioned, Dunfermline really need to sort out that wee feral section they have by the touchline. It's obviously a big moment for them to score in a derby, but to be chucking flares during a match after their sustained record of chucking stuff on the pitch you'd expect some form of reaction to it.

Ian Murray had three big calls to make today: do we ditch the one holding midfielder? Do we play an injured Dabrowski? What do we do in terms of our attacking options?
The change in formation to play 'Scott Byrne' worked relatively well. We still conceded a goal in the same manner that we've done before (particularly against Ayr), we didn't feel as exposed for most of the game. Dunfermline have never really look like a side who are going to be going from distance. They feel quite similar to ourselves last season, plenty of good build up but absolutely zero end product in the penalty box. I couldn't tell you a positive thing which Wighton did today, and Jakubiak for all his work doesn't look like he's anywhere remotely near a threat.
So that brings us onto the second big call. To play Dabrowski for the full 90 minutes was very bold, but he did what he needed to do, and at the end it was clearly being milked to run the game down as the Pars looked quite toothless. Much like the first derby at East End, it was quite hard to see for all the pressure where a goal would come from for Dunfermline.
The real difference in the game came from the call nobody is really talking about. Connolly had two assists in his last two games, but we kept Josh Mullin on the bench for all of Saturday's match against Arbroath, only to give him a full 90 today. Mullin doesn't tend to do screamers, but he offers you an absolute consistency with set pieces and today it paid off. We know O'Reilly is a threat with a decent ball, and Mullin's delivery was absolutely pinpoint. Even aside from that, you felt that our best attacks tended to come down the side with Mullin as opposed to Easton who had a quite quiet game.
9 points, pumped out the Scottish Cup and finished behind us in the league cup. It's been a very fun season for everyone in a Rovers persuasion in this derby.

What's going on here?
Nothing. He's been injured. It went from being out for 3 weeks, to being missing games since September. He's been working on rehab and is expected back soon.
It's less AWOL and Absent with leave.

We've got a Rovers podcast and as you'd expect we've covered the goal from our perspective. There's a link in my signature and I've added the time stamp so it's easy to find.

Probably kept him on until half time then make a decision from there.

I’m sure there was someone on FanTalk that posted the line up the day before the games ? Then someone else started to say Laurie Ellis would check this when he was at Dundee Utd
Aye, that sounds right! Leaks are inevitable at a club like ourselves, but ideally stuff like that needs to be minimised. Coincidentally, it probably helps we're on a good run of form.

Couple reasons about not announcing injuries -
- managing expectations, we can already see the issue with Watson and not knowing when he’ll be back so why add fuel to the fire people are already starting about when players are due back.
- Tactics, if we start saying player X, Y and Z are unavailable then other teams will use that to their advantage. The less the opposition know about us the betterI think it's mostly this and in all honesty I'm for it. We used to be horrendous for people leaking team lines a few years back. I'd far rather it was tighter knit.

We reached the Scottish Cup semi finals that season and were also in the relegation dogfight until two or three games to go.
We were playing four games in a week at the end.
