  1. Thanks to Baby Box Scotland, TASA have been given some limited spaces on two trucks leaving Glasgow on the 20th and 25th of September. Donations need to be made by Sunday at the Forge Shopping Centre in Glasgow, but I will be going around collecting and delivering stuff on Saturday if anyone wants to make their own wee contribution. Please keep it simple, as all Bebiko are really looking for is donations of things like colouring books (for children and teenagers) and colour pencils/sharpeners/erasers/pens etc. NO CLOTHES, FOOD, FOOTWEAR, MEDICINE, TOYS OR BOOKS IN ENGLISH* PLEASE – IF IN DOUBT, PLEASE ASK. *Please keep in mind that these children will have no command of ANY English, so we ask you to keep it simple and manageable (for storage and transportation purposes). https://www.tasunshineappeal.scot/past-projects/2022-2/upcoming-ukraine-september-donation-92/the-tartan-army-donations-for-bebiko-appeal/
  2. Ukraine Presentation and Collection Point Confirmed We’re pleased to confirm that for both the presentation and the drop off point for the colour pencils/sharpeners/erasers/pens etc. will be in the very central: KLUB PODJASZCZURAMI RYNEK GLOWNY 8, 31-042, KRAKOW That name/address might be familiar to a few, as it’s the same venue as the now legendary ‘Night Afore Perty’ and the pre match gigs from Tam and Ted! The presentation will take place on matchday, commencing around midday and your donations can be dropped off from then onward, including during the pre-match party that afternoon/evening. Details of suitable items and/or if you’d like to donate but won’t be able to attend, can be found in the link below: https://www.tasunshineappeal.scot/.../the-tartan-army.../ TICKETS FOR BOTH EVENTS FROM TED £6/pp for either event and mail him on: fwg@tedchristopher.scot Send number required and he'll send a paypal invoice. 3. The Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal will be doing their 92nd consecutive donation for the Ukraine game, and will be making a donation to Bebiko on the day of the game in Krakow. https://www.tasunshineappeal.scot/past-projects/2022-2/upcoming-ukraine-september-donation-92/ Bebiko (which translates as “baby”) is a non-profit organization set up in 2010 that offers assistance to Children aged 2 to 5 years old who are affected with Down-Syndrome. The organization currently looks after 60 children and not only provides a program aimed at solving the problem of integration and socialization of children and youths with Down syndrome, giving them the opportunity to fully function as they reach adulthood, but also to do away with the stigma that people may have of people with Down-Syndrome. They hold individual, group and integrated classes every day, and during their 11 years of operation, have organised more than one hundred events and activities, both in their small centre in central Ternopil, as well as field trips for mothers and children with disabilities. Bebiko strive to implement the right of children with Down-syndrome to integrate into society and provide access to a quality education, and we at the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal are delighted to help out such a worthy cause, which during these dark times in their country, need that ray of sunshine more than ever. With this we are delight to announce that individual fans and Tartan Army Clubs can also do there bit https://www.tasunshineappeal.scot/past-projects/2022-2/upcoming-ukraine-september-donation-92/the-tartan-army-donations-for-bebiko-appeal/ With the help of David McGirr (a Scot who lives in Krakow) and Stuart McKenzie (a Scot who lives in Kyiv) on the match day in Krakow we will be doing a hub in a central location where fans can bring along their own wee donation which will bring much joy to a wee boy or girl currently in Ukraine. What Bebiko are looking for is the most basic and simple things for the children they help, items such as colouring books (for children and teenagers) and colour pencils/sharpeners/erasers/pens etc. Please keep it simple, NO CLOTHES, FOOD, FOOTWEAR, MEDICINE, TOYS OR BOOKS IN ENGLISH* PLEASE – IF IN DOUBT, PLEASE ASK. *Please keep in mind that these children will have no command of ANY English, so we ask you to keep it simple and manageable (for storage and transportation purposes). 5. Details of the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal night with Stories and Q&A from former Scotland international Kevin Gallacher, and entertainment from Ted Christopher. Friday the 3rd of September (night before the Moldova game at Hampden) at Loks Bar and Kitchen (16 Newlandsfield Rd, Shawlands, Glasgow G43 2XU) 7:30pm until 01:00am Tickets are £20:00 standard entry or £25:00 Early Access Meet & Greet. Tickets available here - http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/an-evening-with-kevin-gallacher-music-from-ted-'better-than-elvis'-christopher/11370810 After the success of our first Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal “Q&A: Evening with….” event in 2019 with former Scotland captain Colin Hendry, we are delighted to announce our second such event, this time with his former club and international team mate, Kevin Gallacher. With your MC yet again Hamish Husband, another night of great stories is in store as Kevin (who comes from a footballing family, being the Grandson of Patsy Gallacher, Celtic’s all-time leading scorer with almost 200 goals in over 400 appearances) talks to us about his long career, starting with Dundee United (scoring against Barcelona on route to the 1987 UEFA Cup final), Coventry City, Blackburn Rovers (being part of the 1994-95 Premier League Champion winning side) and Newcastle United (where he was new manager Bobby Robson’s very first signing to the club, and would play alongside England international Alan shearer). Most of all, hear about his Scotland career, from his debut against Colombia in 1988, to playing in all 3 games at Euro 92, scoring against Italy in the Stadio Olimpico, coming back from two leg breaks to be involved In Euro 96 and scoring vital goals (most importantly two against Austria at Celtic Park) that would take us to the 1998 World Cup, and to face off against the reigning world champions Brazil, who would boast Ronaldo at his peak, in the opening game of the tournament. On top of this, there will be entertainment on the night with music from the Tartan Army’s very own Ted “better than Elvis” Christopher. On a practical point, all is subject to whatever the COVID-19 rules might be at that time and should the event be cancelled, ALL tickets will be fully refunded

  11. Fun Fact about 'The Marshall' Its working out at just over 4 tee shirts per hour you've been buying since we launched on Sunday night And just as interesting (well we think so) there's quite a few ladies and for the first time for us, also childrens sizes being ordered!
  12. The Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal gives you 'The Marshall' We've been as frustrated as you with COVID-19 putting off any chance of attending matches and therefore us not doing a Campaign Top, so we've decided to commemorate (a little in the style of our 'Scotland Invented' tops) the occasion of qualifying - its just being put together but our logo will on the front and the design below on the rear. Now on sale offering both mens and ladies sizes and we will try our very best to have these delivered in time for Christmas: http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/'the-marshall'-tee-shirt---tartan-army-sunshine-appeal/11539555?fbclid=IwAR1YMKqRqTK7Q6GhlYNNCCWT9tqczEmUI6UHa0X0UG1vFRopsS8-p8xfS00 Went on sale last night and sales have been through the roof! Even had a request to use the design for a tattoo!
  13. Many thanks to those who have purchased their tickets so far. Fast filling up to be another top night, and tickets still available here >>>>> http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/2020-tartan-army-sunshine-appeal-burns-night/11319195 If there is a large crowd of you planning to come, then please feel free to email us at info@tasunshineappeal.scot and we are happy to discuss.
  14. Just a little bump for this thread. Got some exciting news for the night which we hope to announce soon for what is already shaping up to be a great night.
  15. Anyone looking for a nice winter bobble hat (it can be a wee bit nippy in Oslo or Belgrade in March based on previous visits), look no further than the 2019 TASA Scotland bobble hat. http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/bobble-hat---tartan-army-sunshine-appeal/11345418 With the suppliers just now and we expect delivery in coming weeks. Limited stock, so do not miss out. Here are some photos of prototype (minus full embroidery TASA Logo)
  16. Yeah, when my mate text me to say he had a table, I hummed and hawed, and considered being "fashionably" late for our meeting...... Owner was a good laugh ("can I get wi-fi password?".... "if the games goes down I will blame you and put your whatsapp messages on the big screen"). After game jump on a tram near by and head to Wezze Krafta, best bar in the whole city!!!!!
  17. My understanding is Duffy's is the spawn of what was the Irish Embassy Pub (same owner) after it closed down/changed owners. Not one for Irish pubs (I was with a Polish friend who watches all of Arsenals matches in there) but surprisingly not bad, and shockingly cheap!
  18. Duffy's Irish Bar in the Kazmierz district will show it for you no problem (I was in watching Liverpool v Arsenal a few weeks back)
  19. Firstly, Kemal Karic might result in a few "who?...." comments, but his backstory is really heart breaking, and the legacy that he has set has seen the Tartan Army Sunshine make 73 consecutive donations and hand over £100,000 to help children right across the World everywhere the Scotland national team has played. Back in 1999 for the Bosnia v Scotland Euro 2000 Qualifier, a group of Scotland fans over in Sarajevo heard the story of a young boy called Kemal Karic, known as Kemo, whose mother was killed by artillery in Sarajevo, as she ran carrying 3 month old Kemal. Kemal`s leg was blown off just above the knee. Fundraising by the Tartan Army for a prosthetic leg for a Kemal inspired the creation of the longstanding Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal. Greater detail on this story can be viewed on the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal website. You can read about it here >>> http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/about/4590985125 Aged 15, Kemal , finally visited Scotland to be mascot at the Scotland v Italy Euro 2008 qualifier match at Hampden in 2007. Details here >>> https://www.scotsman.com/news-2-15012/tartan-army-s-teenage-braveheart-fulfils-a-dream-to-lead-out-team-1-699998 Sadly the Sunshine Appeal has learnt this weekend that Kemo has been seriously ill with secondary cancer in his lungs. If anyone would like to send him their good wishes, cards etc we are happy to forward his address if you pm us.
  20. Thank you to those who've already bought their tickets for the event, meaning with these sales and those who've inquired about taking tables, the interest is very high indeed! Tickets can be bought from the link above (£35/pp) or if you're interested in taking a table (or two!), please email us and we'll reply with the details to get a table of 10 for £300, i.e £30/pp info@tasunshineappeal.scot To clarify a few points: Yes it is a Burns Night, in terms of traditional 3 course meal (incd Haggis mmmm), with words of the Bard and poetry (with a Scottish Football flavor) live music from the Ceilidh Band but we're not an official event and we won't take up too much of the night with formalities and its similar for the dress code - its your night out, you decide!
  21. The Tartan Army Sunshine appeal are delighted to announce details of our 2020 Burns Supper. After the success of this years one at Hampden, we feel we have kept that same high quality for next year, with your MC for the night Hamish Husband again, with poetry (Burns with a football twist) from Thomas Clark (who this years Poet, Stephen Watt, says is the best around!), Music from Glasgow’s own Andy McBride (giving us some Dylan’esque tunes... check out his excellent album “Shipyard Soul”) and then dance the night away to the Science Ceilidh Band. Science Ceilidh Band >>>> Andy McBride >>>> Thomas Clark (Poet) >>>> Full details below, | 2020 Burns Night Tickets (Sat 25th Jan 2020) We are pleased to tell everyone that the tickets for our 2020 extravaganza are now on sale Tickets are £35 per person, or contact us for tables of 10 for £300 Venue Edinburgh Marriott Hotel (19.00 for 19.30 and running on till 01.00) The Night Welcome glass of Fizz, 3 course meal, words of the Bard, Live Music and a wee gift from us! During the night we'll be having a raffle where a top prize is the signed Liverpool shirt that was donated to us by none other that the Scotland Captain, Andrew Robertson If you're coming along, we've got a discounted event rate to stay at the hotel, which we'll send to the ticket buyer's PayPal address http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/2020-tartan-army-sunshine-appeal-burns-night/11319195 Unlike this year, there will be no consideration of moving venue should demand outstrip supply, so get your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
  22. Thanks to everyone who showed up on Saturday night, the event added just over £700 to help fund future donations Thought night was great, and Colin was on great form (Craig Brown and Stuart McCall stories from Euro 96 are probably the funniest thing I ever heard and Craig Brown at h/t of the Norway match at WC98 was superb!). Photos from the night are here to see, https://www.flickr.com/photos/steviedoogan/sets/72157709632990392/
