  1. I'm no fan of Simon Ferry and Open Goal patter but a clip of him went viral recently where he said we concentrate too much on mistakes in this country and we should encourage our youngsters to keep getting on the ball and keep making mistakes if they need to, because ultimately they'll do the right thing more often than not if they're good enough. I thought we embodied that tonight. Young guys like Patterson and Gilmour made errors but never stopped, older guys like Dykes the same. No fear in that second half. Lets keep going with that attitude. Fucking brilliant.

    100% agree!!!!
  2. Since Ruiz exposed his chin he's been terrified to come forward.
When Lewis lost to Rahman he came back and decked the guy with one of the all time great shots.  When AJ lost to Ruiz he came back and played it safe for the win.  The alarm bells should gone off then.  AJ isn't as bad as his detractors will make out but he knows he doesn't have a chin and that's in his head now plus he doesn't have the grit in his belly that you need to be a real warrior.  I don't think anyone out the Top 4 is actually going to beat him but he's not the fighter he was pre Ruiz loss and you gotta have Usyk and Fury ahead of him as the top guys.

Yeah I know what you mean…. For me I love Usyk and I openly admit I expected AJ to lay him out after 8-9 rounds but he never imposed himself on Usyk. He was a lot heavier, physically could of bullied him on the inside and hits harder… wouldn’t let his hands go because of the suspect chin!!

I think AJ needs to go back to the AJ who fought Dylan Whyte, Wladimir etc f**k the boxing go and use your athleticism…… if he doesn’t do this and loses the rematch then I’m afraid he’s done and I love what he’s done for boxing l!

Ps he needs a new trainer, McCracken has done well for him but time for them to part ways, all I heard him shout was brilliant [emoji50]
  3. AJ has lost a lot since he’s tried to be a boxer…. Love and Usyk but tonight AJ was awful, he never really tried to close the range and you’ll never beat someone like Usyk with a jab!!!

AJ needs to reevaluate his style…. Chisora caused more problems than him because he came forward!!!

AJ was lucky he wasn’t given a TKO

  4. Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, Cavani, Sancho and Ronaldo.
Surely they must be looking to offload someone? They've just re-signed Cavani, Sancho is new, Greenwood is a great prospect (and left footed) and you can't see them ditching Rashford.

Greenwood could be the one to suffer in this! He should go out and find regular first team football for the duration of this season to an Everton, West Ham etc

Think he has a big future
  5. LB? Really? Luke Shaw has been one of the best LBs on the planet over the past 12 months.

Anyway, brilliant signing. Yes, he's 36, but he scored more than Lukaku in Italy last year, and, going by the twitter rumours, the money isn't obscene (when compared to Messi's PSG deal, for instance).

One of the best left backs on the planet? Had a decent season last year and done really well at the euros but very injury prone I’d like to see them sign one of the Hernandez brothers or Davies!! Personal preference of course but I honestly think Chilwell is a better player!

As for messi he has every right to earn as much as he possibly can and I’m glad he never joined the premier league in the later stages of his career as he we would be seeing him past his best!!!
  6. Theres a lot to like about that Mayweather despite all the criticisms, but I would be rewatching his bodying of Diego Corrales before making a call on heavier Floyd being his best performances.

    That’s a shout actually.

People cant see past his antics to appreciate him as a foghter
  7. 2009/10/11 Manny would have given it a hell of a go.

What we got was a total pantomine with Manny far enough removed from dangerous to make it a safe option.

Not just Floyd to blame though, both parties fucked that up not getting that fight until years after it was perfectly poised as one of the all time great fights is a very obvious stain on modern boxing. A textbook example to point at during the "whats wrong with modern boxing" conversations

Was there not a big thing about drug testing?

what I loved about manny is he went out swinging…. Granted before Mayweather had hand problems he was actually a very good finisher!
  8. I hate Mayweather but have to appreciate his ability…. Thought he was given a couple of questionable wins Judah and Maidana ( first fight ) but whatever advantage anyone had over him he nullified it!! His defence is unrivalled may be boring but probably the best defensive fighter and counter puncher I’ve seen!!

Manny was unbelievable and has achieved some wonderful things but sadly he’d never have beaten Mayweather [emoji17]
