What a monumental cock-up. "Replay Operator" caught the mistake and tried to convince the VAR to do something but was overruled. He also tried to convince the VAR to heed the advice of "Oli" to try to stop the game but didn't to that. Had the VAR at least tried to reach the ref on the field to explain the mistake it would not have been as bad.
At 0:23 of the video the Assistant Ref clearly says "Coming back for the offside, mate" but the VAR wasn't listening.
If anything comes from this I hope that they do something similar to what they do in aviation where pilots and Air traffic controllers have an established set of terminology that makes it crystal clear what they mean. In this case the VAR should not be saying simply "check complete" but something like "Check complete, good goal" to make it clear that he thinks the goal should have stood

Tonight I'm having a bottle of Steam Whistle pilsner. They claim to be Canada's premium Pilsner, which is a dubious claim but it's still very nice. Especially refreshing out of their unique thick green bottles that get really cold in the fridge and stay cold.

I'm still on FM 22 and picked it back up for a bit, I already had a Sochaux save started where I had gotten them to be a mid table Ligue 1 team after 3 seasons and I have since played 2 more seasons and I would say I things are going pretty well. Here is the 2025-26 Ligue 1 table, the Champions League anthem will be heard at the Stade Auguste-Bonale next season
I had finished 4 last season which got me into the Europa Conference League, which also went pretty well
My success was led primarily by 2 Wonderkids, 37 goal striker Angel Flores, 3.5 million well spent a year and a half ago
And academy product Kephren Vertot who scored 24 goals and produced 14 assists in his breakout season
