I’ll not be going down I just went along as the non league game I was going to was off.

On the subject of shite … it’s maybe worth noting … with the greatest of respect … they are still above Clyde in table, get bigger crowds and have a ground.

I think you need an intervention!

But he *is* a footballer. And if someone spat at me during the course of my work I definitely wouldn't react in kind. If I did I would expect to be fired for gross misconduct.

Sadly people who face the public like police, train conductors etc get spat at often enough that spit kits are a thing. They don't get to overreact.

I'm not condoning Scullion's reaction but you cannot equate a professional athlete being spat on at the end of a highly emotive and crucial match with a 9-5 office type being spat on by a disgruntled colleague.

Emotions were obviously running high (thank God - it's been missing all season for our lot) and he lashes out in the heat of the moment with like for like. Both acts are disgusting and cannot be excused but the instigator (Bonnyrigg fanny) is obviously more at fault here.

Think he is alluding to the fact some Clyde fans have been giving it to Bonnyrigg big style re their ground, pitch etc when you have not got either🤔

Yes, I think we understood the point being made. Us having no ground doesn't negate the fact that Bonnyrigg's ground is a shitehole though.

With regards to the Scullion incident, I abhor spitting on anyone, and he will be punished for it, but why the f**k is the boy in the red tammy spitting at him? I hope he is banned from NDP for life.

Never mind NDP, ban the scumbag from every ground in the country - including his home dump.

    Bonnyrigg will be kicking themselves

That'll certainly make a change from them kicking the opposition and/or the ball into the air as high as possible. Pub team with a ground to match.

The fact you have given Kieran McGachie (aka the Pillsbury Doughboy) a gig speaks volumes. He looks to be carrying even more excess weight than when he was trudging about up front for us back in the day.

Shite team, shite fans, shite ground. Should you go down you certainly won't be missed.

  6. I'm not only glad the game is going ahead but I'm half hoping the pitch is in a right state. It will guarantee the game is more a case of which group of players actually give a shit. If our lot can't roll up their sleeves, get right into them and win this one through sheer grit and determination then we deserve to finish last. No more excuses.

Of course, should we lose I can guarantee the first thing we'll hear from McCall (assuming we hear anything) will be him greetin' about the state of the pitch. Just win Clyde ffs.

Three points off this pish today. The only thing I'm more certain about is that the fickle morons who've spent the last month hurling nothing but abuse at our players before suddenly shagging their arses last week will embarrass themselves again whichever way it goes. Wanks.

Absolutely. They should have continued to boo and hurl abuse at the players during the 6-1 thumping of the league leaders. Their lack of consistency is pathetic.

  8. Strange timing given it looks like we may (emphasis on the MAY) have turned a corner with last week's pumping of the league leaders. I have nothing personal against him but given he made a fairly significant contribution to our current predicament with his retention and promotion of Duffy I think this is the correct decision.

It would be nice to see a new face come in to perhaps steer us in a new direction rather than just shuffling the pack of existing board members who have all been complicit in the recent shambles. I won't be holding my breath on that front however.

  9. What a performance and what a bloody scoreline! Well done to everyone! I always thought the new squad had this kind of result in them (well, maybe not quite this result) and it was just a matter of waiting for thing to finally click. That said, even in my wildest of dreams, I didn't expect them to pump the runaway league leaders away from home!

Everyone fought really hard the entire game and there were some absolute stand out performances from the likes of Rennie, Cuddihy, Sula, Kinnear and of course our very own Jordan Allan. That said, everyone played well. Some points worth highlighting:

    1) We came from behind to win - heads could easily have gone down as I felt their goal was slightly against the run of play but we didn't let it get to us.

    2) Ross Lyon had a good game! He made the odd mistake but overall I thought he played really well and there was bags of energy and he was mostly very positive and attacking in his play.

    3) We finally have a bloody good keeper! Kinnear made around 3 or 4 very good stops. Had it been Parry or that other guy between the sticks we would have conceded at least 3 or 4 today.

    4) We actually looked like a decent team who have been together way longer than the month or two they have. Everyone working for one another and there looks to be a nice connection forming between players and fans.

Nothing else to say but Mon the Clyde!!! We're definitely not out of this yet.

Bang on, aye. We all get annoyed, and that's fine! Literally no one connected with Clyde FC is happy with the club at the moment to say the least. However, this whole performative swearing and shouting at players malarky is pathetic.

One of the prime examples of it, although not at our own team, was at the Stranraer game. When they celebrated their first goal, the usual suspects were right down at the side of the park, effin and jeffin and squaring up to the Stranraer players, who were obviously just laughing at them and rightly so. Calling it unhinged behaviour would be generous.

I think "drunk behaviour" would probably be a more accurate description. Not excusing it but mix alcohol with seeing your team get pumped by complete dross every other week and that's the result.

Literally the only plus of this raging bin fire of a season would be if we managed to deny those absolute bellends (MK & SF) promotion. That would almost make it all worth while in itself.

Sadly I have zero confidence that will happen as our squad are a bunch of cowards who routinely shit the bed in anything approaching an important game.

Absolutely agree with your first point re: getting it right up the MK/SF circus. As for your second point, were the relegation playoff tomorrow or next week I would also agree. However, there are more than enough games for McCall to get what I think we all agree is a half decent squad of players actually playing well together and instilling in them a bit of self belief.

Relegation is far from the foregone conclusion everyone seems to think it is.

@JIMMY CHOO's posts would be half their current size as he could no longer say "Gordon Thomson needs to go".

Yes, it's more than a bit weird. I used to think he was masquerading as a Clyde fan for his own amusement but his obsession with GT has got me thinking he's actively involved. I wonder if he is a current or former board member with one eye on the Chairman's post.

  13. 6 minutes ago, JIMMY CHOO said:

I disagree although you do have a point but if a change was made it would give the full club a lift and that could make all the difference. We are getting no points on Saturday and the clubs above us will move further away. Gordon Thomson needs to be removed now for us to have any chance of getting out of the shit.

Removing Gordon Thompson as chairman tonight would make zero difference to the result this Saturday or any other result for the rest of this season. What exactly do you think would change between now and the end of the season were the chairman to go at this point?

  14. 3 minutes ago, JIMMY CHOO said:

I really feel it for you but while the same structure is in place things will continue to get worse. The next thing that happens is the club will languish in mid table of the lowland league at best. I admire your positive attitude but it’s too late for that. The club have let the fans down and the person who has caused all this is Gordon Thomson.

I'm all for a major restructuring of the club but it's too late in the season to do that right now. We need to see out this season with what we have as to change it up at this point would most likely just lead to even more instability and infighting.

Personally, I think fans should be free to give players pelters for playing poorly if they wish. The question is, does it ever result in improving player performance?

I would suggest it at best has no effect but often can result in the player becoming even worse - either deliberately in a "get it up ye" or just through panic/increased nerves due to the abuse.

If Howie is still injured it'll likely be big Pedro Grant that plays and let me tell you, Matty Aitken will be able to pull out his best impression of bespectacled berk Heston Blumenthal against that boy

Couldn't we "promote" Peter Grant to Kitman or something? Hell, I wouldn't mind if he took over as Chairman providing he promises not to play anymore. It's just bad comedy at this point.

Whatever happened to the old mantra "we won't give up the fight till it's mathematically impossible" to avoid the play-offs? Doesn't anyone remember beating all the odds to survive relegation at Firhill in the late eiighties sending Killie down instead? Haven't stranger things happened in football history? Great escapes happen all the time and I can't believe the doomsday scenario predictors don't have a wee part of them that thinks we might just scrape by by either avoiding the play-offs entirely (admittedly, unlikely on current form) or win the play-off. Auld Mattha Gemmell said that it took a heart made in a foundry to support Clyde and he wasn't wrong and its not just the team that are being tested at the moment it's also the patience and resolve of the support.

We're no deid yet and I'm not giving up on that wee bit of logic (not hope) that tells me survival at this level is possible and should we beat the odds I'll raise a large glass to all these maggot fans of other clubs who are rubbing their manky hands at the prospect of our demise.

Hear, hear. I would be pretty much resigned to the fate of the Lowland League were it not for the potential safety net of the relegation playoff.

It is a significant factor in all of this and yet one which most seem to be writing off as a foregone conclusion. There are plenty of games between now and that potential playoff for McCall and the squad to find a system and starting 11 which works so I think it's important we get behind the team as much as possible for the run in.

I don't know if the players are on a win bonus but if not, get that sorted pronto! As others have said, we cannot expect the players to care too much about the club or its history so any incentive for them to really bust a gut should be used. Can we use the Mystery Benefactor's millions to offer them an extra cash incentive to avoid last place?

As I said before, I'm close to staying away myself but while there is a chance of avoiding last place I'm going to drag myself along. All I ask for is that the players give maximum effort, the strongest 11 are fielded and, most importantly, played in their correct positions. If we can refrain from hoofball that would also be much appreciated, particularly with the return of Jordan Allan.

I do understand why many may already have decided not to bother anymore this season but would urge all Clyde fans who are able to continue to attend while there's a chance of avoiding last place and give the team your backing. What is a football club without the fans?

  18. I'm close to done also. Will go to Stenny game on Saturday and possibly the Elgin game the week after. If it's more of the same with the majority of the players looking like they don't give a shit, then I'll have to take a step back - for my own sanity.

Still can't believe how inept that group of players are. They're mostly half decent footballers for this level (on paper at least) but whatever is wrong with our club at the moment has rendered most of them absolutely useless.

Its the hope that kills you. Forfar will win on tuesday. We will play east kilbride in a play off and the get relagated to the lowland league. Mark my words

I'm so surprised to see you ignoring the relatively comprehensive win against 4th in the table yesterday. Well done Jimmy for keeping me on my toes!

  20. If this ends in a draw why don't we just accept we're equally pish/doomed, merge the teams and call ourselves "Dumb Clyde FC"? Might as well combine forces to become the shit powerhouse of Scottish football?

Resurrect Jim Duffy and bring him back in as Director of Fucking It Up.  We could maybe convince our Mystery Benefactor to build a luxury bar/restaurant on top of 'The Rock' overlooking our newly renovated Stadio 'Dumb Clyde' Olympico?

    Dare to dream!

He certainly went against the idea that "All goalkeepers should be good shotstoppers". Barely saved anything.

An absolute terrible goalkeeper. My highlight was the Musselburgh game when he casually left a shot which ended up smacking off the post.

Another one of Duffy's signings? Did Duffy ever bother to watch any of his lot play before signing them or did he just throw darts at a list of available players?
