We have to believe, 3 seasons in this bloody abyss is torture. If McGlynn has shown that kind of faith then that’s good enough for me. Oh and btw I was never seething about Murray and Nisbet leaving. And now Gillespie. Absolutely chuffed about McKay. It’ll be a big season for him and one he’ll totally excell in.

With the signings you boys are making make that 5 seasons in this bloody abyss, nae luck.

  2. As I said in a previous post if Queens couldn't beat Montrose over 2 legs they didn't deserve to be anywhere near the Championship. The Angus club are workmanlike but to be honest not a lot between them in 4th in League 1 than Stranraer in 8th,in fact if Easy Fife hadn't imploded,it would have been them in the play offs,if I had been a betting man I would have lumped on Queens on Saturday. The final should be won by Queens as well,Nisbet is a danger but can honestly see Queens winning both legs.My own team beat Raith up at Starks only last month, plus they are not very good away from home, looks like Queens will escape this time.

  3. Just had to be nosey and see how Dumfries is handling this relegation scenario.Got to be honest love to see Queens in League 1 next season for purely financial reasons,a couple of derbys at Stair pk and the new year fixture.Although early season I forecast Queens would struggle after watching our game against you in July and after Harkin left was convinced you would be in the bottom 3.Not really sold on Naysmith and so it's proved. For what it's worth if you land in the PO against Montrose you should win, they are workmanlike but if you can't beat them you deserve to be in League 1.The problem will come in the final and it might be written in the stars that John Baird and Dale Hilson will come back to haunt there former club, providing Forfar beat Raith.I'll be keeping a close eye on proceedings at Palmerston while watching a dead rubber at Stair park.Just can't bring it to myself to wish you all the best, but Queens fans must be really nervous.

  4. Take these with a pinch of salt at times but good to see Kyle Turner getting mentioned in dispatches,I've been banging the drum about KT for the past 3 seasons and I'm resigned to the fact he'll move on the during the summer,if he follows in the footsteps of his old man Tommy, the kid is going to have a great career.Just don't get Hilson in these teams,I've watched Stranraer 4 times against Forfar this season and Baird makes Forfar tick,to be honest Hilson has been poor against us this season and couldn't possibly have him in front of Baird, but all about opinions I suppose.

  5. Now the blues are safe I'll have a wee dig at this.We will be losing Kyle Turner off to a higher league, back to parent clubs will be Innes Cameron,Ali McCann,P J Crossan and Jao Victoria.Probably would try and keep,Currie GK,Hamill,Brownlee,Cummins,MacDonald,MacManus and Elliot who have all shown good form at one time and another this season.Young McGowan could be worth another season,Mark Lamont is frustrating at times but can play well

     Based on?

Trouten seems to have coped fine and this season I've liked McGuigan a lot more this season than I liked Trouten last.

Hope Wallace stays but should just get this season out the road first before talking about who should or shouldn't stay. Everyone in the squad has played a part this year, our best season in forever

ETA: McGuigan won't sign so it's immaterial anyway

Probably based on  Stranraer releasing him a couple of seasons ago for not scoring enough in League 1,but to be fair he had an in and out season due to injuries etc.His 4 performances against the blues this season have resulted in zero goals,he scored quite a lot before the new year but hasn't been that clever recently, would take Ryan Wallace any day of the week and have watched both in a Stranraer jersey, but obviously imo

Time to get ready for league 1 I'd say if dobbies season is over we are in big trouble the squad was always to small but the decision to not bring in another goal scorer was always going to haunt us.
We simply MUST WIN at Alloa on sat

Would love to have the new year derby back,a small team on a small budget against Stranraer excellent:thumsup2

I always remember Airdrie 8-1 Stranraer at Broadwood.
4 red cards, a disallowed goal, Stranraer taking the lead direct from a wind assisted corner, and it was the only game my old man missed that season.

Also remember beating Ayr down at Somerset and Stevie Cooper scoring a hat trick. That season my old man said every time Stevie scored I could get a bit of chocolate. I was sick that day in Ayr.;)

Bloody refs still against us in 1994,you couldnae make it up,you cross I'll score Ammo.

A very frustrated man in that interview. I’ve seen a lot of ridiculous time wasting from teams this season but yesterday wasn’t one of them and i dont agree that forfar were playing for a draw either. As soon as linn doris and wallace came off we had nothing really

Dick mentioned time wasting at Stranraer as well, Arbroath never do it:whistle wait till he plays Montrose he'll take a fit.

Anybody hear any rumours on Saturday about Stuart Millar being appointed Director of Football? It was being talked about at half time. I think he’s been in a similar role at Stranraer until recently (also an ex-player).

With a full time manager already in place, not sure how it’ll work at a club our size. If true, I’m sure the club will be forthcoming with a communication shortly (as ever...)

Going by the Stranraer FC Facebook page you've got him.:whistle

I wouldn’t exactly call a league cup game a ‘glorified friendly’. We’ve been great at times this season but it’s all turned to sh*t very quick. I wouldn’t have predicted at the start of the season that we would struggle, it was always going to be a tight league with the league containing no real wipping boys. The injuries to Low and Todd have hit us hard as they are very creative players for us. I’m still confident that we’ll turn it around but with Falkirk and Patrick picking up points it needs to be soon. Btw I really like the boy in your team, Kyle Turner. Wouldn’t mind him at Palmerston.

Re Turner, watched by 2 Scottish Championship teams on Saturday,Queens weren't one of them

  12. Just thought I'd pop along and see the meltdown over here, not gloating here as a Stranraer supporter.I think Queens have probably the biggest 6 weeks in their history Watching your lot dismantling us roughly about 7 years ago didn't think we would see yous in 20 years again but things change quickly in fitba.Queens have 2 massive games in that time Falkirk at Palmerston and Alloa at the Idodrill.I think if you lose both, your in the seaside League next season and the ramifications that will bring.I watched Queens in July against us and I know it was nothing more than a glorified friendly, but I said to my mates at the time Queens will struggle this season and so it's proved. As a Stranraer supporter our crowds are pathetic, but noticed Queens could only muster just over a 1,000 on Saturday, didn't think I would ever see that day, that must be a big worry.Although my own team aren't safe yet,we are least picking up points here and there,Queens are in horrible run of form and I really fear for you boys it's not nice. One final thing didn't I read somewhere supporters wanted Naysmith on a long term deal, pretty unreal that.

What I would like tho is 6 points this week, if not we are down. But over the piece we have had some dodgy decisions against us I love that excuse, its the same referee for both teams.

    Hopefully Faz disappears soon

You seem obsessed by our Manager 1870.The man has the smallest budget in the League,in season 1 he saved us from relegation, season 2 after a good start he guided us to 5th with his budget slashed at Xmas losing a top striker who could have scored enough to get us into the playoffs plus his Captain went as well, this season once again on a slashed budget he has managed to get a few in with the help of dof Stuart Millar and in all honesty will probably keep us in League 1.I really don't know what you want,a bunch of superstars to play on just over a 100 quid a week with average crowds of 300,sadly we are where we are because of mainly finance to attract decent League 1 players you need decent cash we haven't got that and no disrespect to our squad as I think there very good players, young and naive at times but that goes with the territory. If the worst comes to the worst and I don't think it will a further budget cut will be needed next season.Mr Farrell stuck by us in December 2017 when he could easily have walked, let's stick by him please.
