β€ͺ1st goal Tait’s fault for chasing after a ball he was never going to get.

2nd goal was a complete howler from Gillespie but it was just typical of Celtic to score before half-time.

3rd goal again let them in behind to easily.

4th goal/handball completely killed our chances but we let Celtic in behind far to easily. ‬

5th goal wasn’t really even watching anymore but looked a penalty.

β€ͺNot a bad first half, get a striker in before the window ends and we’ll be fine this year!‬

I think the issue with the 5th Goal/penalty was that there were 2 balls on the field. The first time the celtic fans thrown a ball, the ref stopped play, but the second time he did not.Β

Gispliee was trying to plead his case to the ref but got book for it.Β

Edit: Moult also scored for Preston today. Any chance we can get him on loan? That would solve a lot of issues.

Anyone else hear the major balls-up with the reporting of the result of the Queens Park v Hamilton penalty shootout ?

Can’tΒ remember if it was Chick Young or Richard Gordon who initially announced that Accies had won 5-4 on pens. Β

Then about quarter of an hour later Richard Gordon told us that Queens Park had actually won 6-5 , although at first ,the way he said it gave me the impression that the mistake was that Accies had wonΒ on 6-5 penaltiesΒ rather than 5-4. Β

Wasn’t necessarily Gordon or Young at fault with the initial announcement , as they might simply have been passing on information given to them by someone else.

But someone was clearly incompetent and most likely just didn’t care enough about this particular game.

Chick demonstrated his own brand of incompetence byΒ seeming to take ages to get round to confirming the outcome of the Stirling Albion-Hibs game and the penalties. He seemsΒ incapable of simply reporting a simple fact like a final score line without a fair amount of waffling and stuttering.

I believe that Hamilton did win 5-4 on penalties at first, however the winning penalty save was retaken due to the keeper being off his line. So they probably were told that Hamilton had won then just ignored anything else that came in. Still terrible though.

Was particularly pessimistic about Turnball signing on - so whatever has changed in the last couple of weeks is brilliant. I don't necessarily think playing U-23 or academy football in England is particularly satisfying after being a first team player (as opposed to going to that setup straight from U20's/Reserves) - and the risk of getting "lost" is clearly higher than it would be at a club like ours.Β

In a season and a half - if he develops the way we expect - he'll be in a position to get a decent gig down south (and make us a right few quid)

You should have seen my reaction when i first saw the BBC new article about the news:

    Β

"Motherwell's David Turnbull turns downΒ ..."

    Β

    WTH!!!!

    Β

"...'more lucrative club' to sign new deal"

    Β

    That gave me a fright.

The next major problem would be his wage demands.
Even if we sell Carson 40% goes to hartlepool, 20%+10% on loans, which leaves only 30% of any fee. I doubt we will geta anything more than Β£1million so that would leave us atmost with Β£300,000. I also believe we wouldnt spend most of it on wages.
I dont see him dropping his wage demands to our level.

Don't forget VAT. I thought we were rumoured to be due 25% to Hartlepool - have you heard 40%?

Well, back when we signed him i was looking around other forums and say the 40% sell on clause.Β

Thay number stuck with me as it made sense becaue of the transfer fee (Β£10,000) and the problems Hartlepool were/are facing

Again i dont have any insider knowledge, but its just what ive heard other people say when the deal had been announced.
