  1. Well said Wullie ,  Hi  SuperHans . You tried to make a total fool  out of me . Im glad you have been exposed as a total , sick twisted sad lonely total c@nt . We  ALL know you will still be reading this ? so get to f**k and tell Martin ? LOL  to f**k off  2 .   p***k !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shutup

Oh Christ, maybe you should get an adult to start posting on your behalf too.
  2. What a fantastic couple of days I've had keeping up to date with the posts in this thread. My thoughts...

Firstly, I think we're all agreed that in an ideal world we keep Vaughan, he scores 15+ goals this season as well as multiple assists for the BS (not Bull-Shit) strike partnership and we win the league.

Secondly, none of us know any facts, originally it was the Killie rumour which Bambino has since quashed (still baffles me as to how he A. knows all this and B. is allowed to give us so much information about Vaughans career if he is a mate) and now it's the Dundee rumour which as far as I'm aware is just that, a rumour.

The board and Barry Smith won't want to lose Vaughan but as Superhans has touched on, in a roundabout way, every player has his price and if that is too good to say no to, then board should take it. Who knows, Barry Smith might have 2-3 players in mind who he believes will be good enough to strengthen the squad and help us win the league, if given the funding The notion that selling Vaughan is conceding the title to Ayr before a ball has been kicked or the window has shut is ludicrous.

None of us know the ins and outs, we're all speculating as to what the board has or will be offered and we have no idea what Lewis Vaughan wants to do. I do have confidence in the fact that if Vaughan was to go Barry Smith would make the right decisions in bringing in one or two players who will still be able to 'do a job' in this league.

Let's all relax too, only 10 months until we're singing CHAMPIONNNEEEEEEEEEESS again.

  3. Jiglin Geordie so you only went for the freebies ok understand where you are coming from now another freeloader.  The 200 club is run by volunteers no one takes a wage.  As for food Mario would have opened up the pie stall if asked.  I forgot that would have cost you money that would have gone to the Rovers sorry.  The pie stall might have remained closed then shocking.[emoji20]

Might be time for you to go to bed.

    A. Society is a sponsor so this was part of the deal.

    B. Society is a good venue and the food will have been petter than a pishy cold pie from Mario.

    C. I wasn't at Society but you do have a point, I can be a freeloader at times. I love a compo.

    D. I suspect the food was free at Society. It wouldn't have been free from Mario as he'd have to pay for his own staff.

    E. Aye let's all stand in a cold South Stand concourse to look at a few football shirts and talk to the players, sounds a laugh and no double there'd be more people moaning because of how sh*te it would've been if held at Stark's.

    F. The volunteers you speak of, do we just assume they also want to give up their midweek night in the summer for a shirt unveiling.

Is that enough for you? Some people here will find any reason to criticise the club. Nobody, including myself, knows the exact ins and outs of every decision.
  4. Can't agree with this. Society is a good venue for this type of event. A mostly empty stadium wouldn't have had any atmosphere. I personally thought the event tonight was pretty good. Some fizz and food put on, good timing, just the right size venue to feel busy and have a bit of a buzz. Players and manager in good form etc
Not being funny but the Raith Suite / 200 Club and all of the main stand "facilities" are like something out of the dark ages. I say knock it down and build something purpose built with a few bars/suites, one of which could be open and generating revenue all day, everyday.

Agreed. Also take in to account the cost for the club for staff and for food to be brought in from outside the stadium with the unpredictability of how many people will actually turn up.
  5. Would it not been better to open the South Stand concourse and the 200 club and held the diplay in the concourse and anyone wanting a drink visit the 200 club.  All money going to the Rovers.  It's not rocket science you know I dispair about what is running Raith Rovers they seem to go from bad to worse.

Society are a sponsor and that will have been part of the sponsorship deal, therefore there is a financial gain for Raith from tonight
  6. Told first hand that this wasn't confidential info so here is where we stand at the moment...
John Sim has put forward proposals to buy out the entire shareholding of the club owned by New Raith Rovers and put funding in that will clear the club's liabilities and has already committed funds to allow full time football this season. He has plans for the stadium regarding the artificial pitch and development/much needed maintenance of the ground.
Mr Sim intends on making the club a self-sustaining community asset and has put forward ideas to bring younger board members in who have relevant skills and experience to freshen things up a bit.
The Buchanan transfer wouldn't have gone through if it hadn't been for JS financing it.
The general consensus was that things may be very, very bleak if these proposals aren't voted through. Relegation ensures that we'll be running at another substantial loss as we have been doing since the supporter-led buyout in 2005 which JS provided the essential funds for.
The BoD are very content that he has the club at heart and has become even more of a supporter having been more involved in recent times. He was spoken of as a clever 'numbers' man.
Terms will have to be ironed out but in our current circumstances Mr Sim's proposals appear to be the best way forward by far.

Well that has shut a lot of you up.
  7. The present board have been trying for some years to get the ownership of Stark's Park returned to the football club. The reason this hasn't happened is down to one man - John Sim. Every director, including the late Turnbull Hutton, has found him to be quite intractable.
Sim's vision for Raith Rovers is that they should be a junior club, so moving to Glenrothes would fit in quite well with this.
At the start of every season the board go out of their way to give the manager as big a budget as they possibly can. Sim has, for some time, wanted to do the exact opposite. Indeed he wants to play all of the U20s to save some money.
All of the above makes me appear to be very pro board or even a board member. I can assure you I'm not. But I am totally against John Sim having any more influence at Stark's Park.

    [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

What a load of crap. THINK ABOUT IT. So Mr Sim wants to sink tens, potentially hundreds of thousands of pounds of his own cash in to Raith for us to become a Junior club so he makes no return?! No, he wants to run the club more like a business and he's not afraid of clowns like you moaning about it.
  8. The thought of leaving the San Starko makes me sad [emoji20]

Gives me a semi. Stark's Park is p*sh. We're stuck with no room for commercial growth, if we don't do anything about it we'll continue to be in the shadow of clubs like Dunfermline and Falkirk in terms of infrastructure and potential growth.

Now is the time to change it and I'd much rather have a guy like Sim, with his credentials, in charge than any of the current board. I believe Sims father was a huge Raith fan and that is why Sim helped us out in the first place, he will not want to see anything bad happen to the club but at the same time he'll be willing to make the hard decisions which will give us the best chance of progressing.

It's tough to make big risky decisions for a football club if you're so engrossed in it as a fully fledged fan with multiple connection to the club, both financially and personally. Sim is a guy who is connected but from the outside so he won't be afraid of your average fan complaining about change, he'll just get on with it and do what's best as a business which we need.

The current board must have absolutely zero confidence and quite rightly so after the embarrassing decisions last season. With them staying in charge they'll forever be petrified of making big decisions because of the potential backlash. Stick with them and we'll maybe make it back to 4th in the Championship in 3-4 years before inevitably having another struggle season and end up back down here in League One within 10 years.

I'm excited by this, we're stuck in a rut and hopefully he can get us out of it. This could be one of the best things that has ever happened to our club, let's embrace it!
  9. Callachan and Matthews similar players? Come on, people.

Matthews is a #baller, incidentally. He'll go onto be a solid Premiership/top end Championship type player. Half expected McKinnon to sign him last year.

Callachan? I'd like to see him stay. His constant pings are infuriating and I keep waiting on composure in the pass that at this stage I don't think will ever arrive. But he's quick, hard-working, covers a lot of ground and gets involved in some good moves. Don't underestimate the importance of a forward runner from the middle of the park (like Grant Murray did) - I don't see another player in our squad that's capable of it.

I do understand the overwhelming majority of the 'magnificent team' stuff is winding up our intellectual Fife cousins but I think some of our fans need a reality check regarding fees for players if bids come in, the level of player we can attract and, incredibly, the fact that James Craigen is quite obviously too good for this level.

    Callachan...quick?! ????
  10. Completely and utterly irrelevant post but I'm highly bored with the lack of signings/games/general Roversness.
If someone was to ask you who you support, what would you say? For me growing up the club have always been known as the Rovers. "going to the Rovers on Saturday, any Rovers news, are the Rovers still shite?" so when I hear people call us 'Raith' I find it rather, weird. I don't think I've ever, when asked, said "I'm going o the Raith game on Saturday". It got me thinking about a time I got speaking to someone at a gig who was from down Dumfries way. He asked me initially where in Fife I was from then the convo moved onto football (the guy in question was a QOS fan) and asked who I supported. I had assumed, when I said previously I was from Kirkcaldy that the seed was planted, so when I said 'the Rovers' he didn't twig who I meant. Not until I said Raith Rovers did he realise who the Rovers were. I found it interesting.
    I am bored as f**k.
