Anyone got an inside view on the McPake situation? It's been so long now that if he knew there was no chance surely he'd announce his retirement? Must still be hope of him returning. Is he in any sort of training?

This accompanied by the fact that we can't defend as a team cements the fact that we deserve to be bottom. That's no dig at Hendry and Waddell btw, the team need to start working for each other and give 100% with a lot more dig. We have some talent but it's worthless if we can't work as a unit. It's down to McCann to make this happen.

In hindsight due to his injury McPake was a mistake however when fit and playing done a great job for us IMO. Puts the whole Meekings move into perspective, we surely can't consider taking him on via anything other than a pay as you play deal. Id still like to see some shake up in defence from McCann. Whether this be cracking skulls or a new face.

Hate to labour a point but we won't be fine if we keep conceding the way we are. Even if we had Hemmings scoring a hat trick today we wouldn't win! I'd happy take a couple 0-0's just to stop the rot.

I agree with this bar the overall mentality of the squad. Yes we look a lot more possible going forward however our defence is still a disgrace. We have no chance of winning games if we continue to ship 2/3 goals on a regular basis. People have already singled out the importance we place on Allan turning up and creating for us. If we could string together a few clean sheets then there wouldn't be so much pressure on Allan and the front line. Im firmly in behind McCann and he deserves time. I'm happy with the signings he's brought in and the way he goes about his business but sorting the defence now has to be his number one priority!

I think Holt, Bain and Kerr all have a part to play in the goal against. Not wanting to take the shine off of what was a stunning performance but we have to get things like that sorted at the back. If we continue that same level of effort and desire however going into the league games we'll score more that we concede no doubt!

I think that's a bit extreme saying Holt's a massive weak link. As much as I would love to see a goalscorer like most teams, I feel our biggest problem is at the back (which loosely links with your Holt point) Last year we shipped the 3rd most goals against behind Motherwell and Caley and so far have only recruited Hendry to strengthen things up. Kamara needs more fight for a defensive midfielder and O'Dea isn't as good as people make out IMO although has the "experience". I really hope that If Meekings isn't medically fit to join then we have someone else lined up, we desperately need it.

Would have personally preferred McGowan and El Bahk instead of Randy and Moussa. 3 points and a clean sheet would be ideal [emoji1305]

El Bak hasn't really had a real chance in the team yet IMO. He's not had 3 starts in a row from what I can remember and when given a chance is up top on his own which doesn't suit him. He has so much more to offer for me and would flourish in a 2 up top with Moussa or Haber.

Not complaining about the draw. Just the overall set up of the competition. Today's result proved to be pointless regardless what happened. Relishing the chance to pump them in 11 days time tho, Deacon and Allen are a class apart!

Who really wants to see the likes of Hamilton and Partick visit Dens twice in a season. Yes we should back our team no matter but it would be a lot easier if we didn't have to welcome the same shite to dens every few months. It's long overdue we get a 16/18 team league!
