  1. It's been a while...

  2. Dolby Anol - Heather I'm Dry great stuff...
  3. I'm not exactly singing from the rooftops about it. If we stay up as a 1st Div club and (as others suggest) we struggle with an (effectively) 2nd Div squad then going to see Airdrie every week will be about as much fun as having fingernails pulled. That's in addition to everything WAAD stated above.
  4. modeselektor's Hello Mom album. awesome techno.
  5. 23 jewels - Amusement parks on fire
  6. sometimes - my bloody valentine yum
  7. The Science of Sleep This film exclaims Michel Gondry's genius but also proves he is, well... quite mad 9/10
  8. I watched a few over in Warsaw at the end of last week Last King of Scotland / Hollywoodland / The Pursuit of Happyness All were watchable but not classic. Last King of Scotland was the best of the three by far. Last night I watched Lost in Translation (again). Brilliant.
  9. I'm reading On Photography by Susan Sontag. Quite a "heavy" book on the pyschology and philosophy of photography and the photograph. It's amazingly eye-opening. Really enjoying it. the last fictional book I read was Requiem for a dream...
  10. I haven't listened to this album for AGES! The drumming is some of the best I've EVER heard!
  11. Totally Natural - ...and you will know us by the trail of dead RAWK!

    Gigs

The sound is pretty good inside, yeah. I think I'll need to see if I can blag a photo pass for that gig too. Haven't seen Malky for ages.

    Gigs

I've photographed a couple of shows there. Doing another next week. It's really nice inside. Feels like a slick nightclub rather than a rock venue. It's just next to the sub club. Just like the ABC, there used to be a cinema in its place. It's too new to tell whether it's going to be as good as some of the smaller venues but I like it so far. N.

    Gigs

It's the classic grand, ain't it? Good venue if a little new. It's owned by DF Concerts I think.
  15. My brother was pretty disappointed as he'd read that it would be a return to the old days, but to be honest I didn't see it happening. They're never going to be as frenetic as they used to be... I remember watching a gig at the QMU where Bob came out, head busted up as he'd rattled it off his bass headstock. That said, the new album is pretty Rawk. A lot heavier than the last. The song writing is getting better and better.
  16. nope... I have a promo copy sitting on my desk I used to run a record label so I have some natty contacts...

    Gigs

I'm doing photos at Aereogramme at the Classic Grand in a week. Can't wait. After that, haven't anything planned but need to organise some stuff...
  18. Sunday and Monday of this week I went to see Babel and the Fountain respectively. Babel was bleak but awesome The Fountain was just stunning. I'd heard such awful things about it, but was looking forward to it as Aronofsky is by far my favourite director primarily for Pi. It was incredible. Visually and dadacticly. Well worth seeing.
  19. Oh god... that reminds me of this old woman who would come into Airdrie's Superdrug when I worked there (around late 90s) who would expect a chair when she came in, and either Iain or I (she never asked the girls) would have to run around the shop picking stuff up for her. She was a nightmare! A petty thing that gets on my nerves... pretty simple one this, but people singing loudly at gigs and getting the fecking words wrong... if you're gonna do it, make sure you at least know the words!
