Morning. Just a quick post to express my dismay at how underhand your board have acted here. If I've read this correctly it was the board who leaked the information to the national press. That in itself is massively unprofessional but to leak the specific story they did is clearly an attempt to turn fans against your fans group, and potentially rule them out of any future bid for the club. They've deliberately leaked a nothing story and kept the major 'indiscretions' to themselves to make it look like sour grapes from the fans consortium. Skillufully done but really despicable behaviour. I only hope it hasn't conned too many people. Best of luck.

This arsehole  is doing my napper in here. Are Sunderland no in enough bother without you sticking your nose in here. We're still waiting on the smoking gun evidence you brought up days ago. If you havent got any than please feck off.

I'm getting the impression he isn't even a Sunderland fan, prob similar to Edi/latapy etc and just trying to muddy the waters from a different angle.

    Absolutley was thinking the same.

I will repeat that the proof of funding is secondary to me now. I am sure he can show the club he has money to buy them out.

Once he has the club for c400k he and his people can do with it what they wish.

We have just got to be sure he won’t turn us over and look after the club once the sale has gone through. You can do all the DD you wish but there has to be a judgment call in all this based on someone’s past, integrity and track record.

Can I ask what you think this guy would be capable of doing?

The piece in the Sun is an absolute non-story (probably why that rag printed it). I'm assuming BtB had other concerns which haven't been made public?

Depends how it reads, I don't read the Sun but this is from the BBC page:

Former Celtic chief scout John Park won't take up a director of football role at Falkirk until preferred bidder Mark Campbell proves he has the money to complete his proposed takeover. (Sun)

Now its either John Park hasn't seen evidence of the money yet (which would be very strange given he has been working with this guy for a while) or he won't take up the job until the takeover is complete.

Not that I can see. This is a copy and paste from a post made earlier today by KJ on the COYB FB page:

Kenny Jamieson The Sun has reported on it this morning. Only fair that we tell fans that it's true and that it was us. The MSG/Board are in possession of the content and it's now up to them to investigate it. Hope that clarifies.

Kenny Jamieson I didn’t say we told the Sun. We told the club but as the Sun are now reporting it, we’re confirming it to fans, which is the right thing to do.

That seems fairly clear. They gave the club information, the info ended up with the Sun who ran what seems to be a non-story, and as a result they're now confirming publicly that info was passed to the club - but not the paper.

So is their concern the fact that Park won't be taking up the role until the deal happens if it does? thats the only thing I read from seeing pictures of the Sun article.

Of course it is all about proportion, I understand that and I'm sure he will bring in talent relevant to our size and wage bill.

My point was that there are people on here stating MC would get his investment back by making millions off player sales because John Park is coming. As someone else pointed out he's fishing in a different pond now , credit to him for taking on the challenge though.

I am as cautious as everyone else when it comes to this guy however I don't think he actually expects to make that much money from the football side. I think he sees the potential in the site more than anything football related. Hotel down there would surly give him a return on investment given its location? I am sure I read he had plans to invest in other ventures on the site potentially residential given his background? They have also spoke about concerts and events not sure what the turnover is on those though. Guess we will just have to wait and see if he passes the DD first.

You may wish to publicise some of it then. The staff can't say anything and I'm not only pushing a boundary but might be overstepping it.

What else do you know has been cut?

By your recent comments I'm sensing things are yet again happening behind the scenes that are going to make us even more of a shambles.

One thing you seemed pretty confident on earlier in the thread was that a takeover/buyout was inevitable. If it doesn't put you under any scrutiny to answer on here what would be your feelings on that now?

That says it all for me:

Three shareholders rejected the motion with the overwhelming number in the room for the lunchtime meeting raising their hand for the vote of no confidence in the board, however the resolution was defeated by the pre-meeting proxy votes submitted.

So the whole thing was pointless to me none of the points raised got answered.

Not a criticism of the guys who called for it but it seems the MSG are untouchable at the moment.

  8. Mr Thomson asks the room
"The club has positive cash, and zero debt - so is it attractive to buyers?"

Still spinning this pish, cant possibly be debt free or have positive cash given we have been relegated to league 1, fined for poaching a manager, drop in ST sales, and putting together a championship team to win the league.

You sound as your surprised at that, lets face it the amount of spin they have tried over the past couple of seasons would put Alistair Campbell to shame, you can pretty much say any comment they come out with in regards to highest budget, etcthe opposite is closer to home than the truth.

Wouldn't be surprised at all tbh was just questionning Latapy/Edi Bairns comment.

The Board have given Ray a substantial budget, including personal funds. Ray was given a choice of signing 18 average players or 10 quality ones, and he’s rightly taken the quality route.

I read something on twitter yesterday that claimed the Board haven't actually put any of their own money in as promosied and that funds from the ST sales and Vaulks deal is being used this season.

The picture was taken yesterday when we still had unsigned players training with the squad. I don't think you can infer anything from it, except that players were still under consideration.

To answer Stuperman's question - there are no U19 or reserve players. All were released at the end of last season. CD is the only one remaining and he's just training with us.

And before anyone asks, I'm done for the day. Any announcements now are in the hands of the club.

So are we not bothering with an u19 or reserve squad this season?

If the rumours I’ve heard are true then Toshney will most certainly be announced with 2 loanees also from a championship club. Could we even see a trialist sign from the pre season games?

Not heard anything at all about an Ex Morton striker signing. But it’s Ray McKinnon so you never know I suppose.

Just say the names then FFS 😅
