    There's a man over there
On his chin there is hair
And he's climbing the stairway to Hampden!

Highlights from the East Fife replay now on Youtube, includes some good footage of the bearded army and some interviews around the town prior to the Rangers Quarter Final tie.

    Brilliant, what a game!
We met Hazel Irvine in the sports shop and I had to pretend I was buying a shirt as they were doing a bit on how many had been sold in the lead up to the game!
Didn’t do anything for my acting career!

I was given some DVDs with AFC related material on them a few days ago and am just having a look through some of them now..... some absolutely wonderful stuff on there ('wonderful' to an extremely niche audience..... ).

I'm currently in the process of watching 20mins worth of highlights from the promotion winning game against Berwick in 2001, having earlier converted highlights of both games against East Fife in the Scottish Cup run under Danny McGrain........ that Craig Martin volley? That Paul Tosh run from the edge of his own box? Those hoards of maroon glad fans going absolutely wild behind the goal? It's all there :D

Can’t wait to see that East Fife game! Great memories! 🇱🇻

I’ve been unable to post and missed the last few games due to personal circumstances and probably won’t see another game this season.

Having kept up to date with all the posts on this forum and I feel that some posters need to maybe step back and have a reality check. I know that each is a personal opinion, just as this is, but we need to remember what Arbroath FC is.

I think that some time ago I said that AFC is a small, provincial football club with a relatively small fan base that employs part time professional footballers, and that still applies. As such we should manage our expectations accordingly.

Winning League 2 and 1 titles and a 5 season run, with one exceptional season in the Championship has perhaps led some to believe that we should be an established Championship side. However, competing against full time sides who can train and work on tactics during the whole week means we would always be at a disadvantage. Very poor team management over last season and this, together with a horrendous injury situation have seen our time in the Championship come to an end, but it would have ended sooner or later anyway.

I sometimes wish that we hadn’t had that amazing 21-22 season, it raised expectations so much. When will we see another side that hardly had any injuries, a rock solid defence, intelligent midfielders who put in a shift every week, Bobby Linn and of course a one off up front? Maybe not in my lifetime but the main thing is that the club takes this relegation in it’s stride, learns from mistakes made and moves on.

This is no place for the voice of reason! 😉😂

I agree with you to a point. If we had had a moderate season last season and a decent enough pre-season and league cup then I wouldn’t be worried in the slightest. Yes we hoped for better but it’s been on the cards and tonight was entirely predictable . The Montrose win papered over some pretty huge and very obvious cracks, and the inability to beat Cowdenbeath, being pumped by Forfar and St Mirren, and out played by Brechin and Montrose (ok it wasn’t a “Proper” game) have all been part of a trend.

Prepared to accept that United might just do that to everyone this season and that we’ll be fine but, based on what I’ve seen so far, any team with a passing game, and a bit of pace and physicality will destroy us - hope I’m wrong.

40 years going to Gayfield, these are by far the best gravy days I’ve witnessed.
Hence, not getting overly exercised when things aren’t going to plan.

Very proud of my wee club!

  5. Naive tonight. Wrong selection, wrong starting 11.
We all know we’re short in a few areas, no doubt the club have been trying hard to fix this.
Will be interesting to see how we fare against other sides and if DUFC railroad more teams than us.

Not worried…… for now! No point losing the head at the minute.

Good news! We now have an online archive containing our entire history! The archive is now fully live and can be found here; Arbroath Archive. Below gives a rough idea of what we've got on there:

    ·  A record of every game we've played from 1878 until present day, with over 6400 total games in total, with game date (teams, subs, scorers, ref etc) where known, and highlights for modern day games

    ·  A match report for every almost every game with thousands of old reports from the Arbroath Herald & Arbroath Guide and dozens of other sources, as well as fan reports from the old arbroathfc.org.uk website for our games in the 90s and early 00s

    ·  A profile for every player who has played for the club containing their full playing record for the club as well as player info, a picture where we have it and a biography

    ·  Our all-time player appearance records, goalscorer records and clean sheet records

    ·  Hundreds of pictures, programme covers, a managerial timeline, hat trick heroes and lots more!

As well as the site itself, we will be looking to keep our social media pages fairly active with regular posts on a whole host of things, such as 'Guess the Player', 'On This Day', 'Did You Know?' etc. as well as hopefully further articles/ interviews in the future.

We have a fantastic history as a football club, and I'm delighted we have our full records online for all to see and hope the social media channels will help bring some wonderful stories of players, matches etc. to you all over the coming months/ years. If anyone wants to get involved or has any material they think we should have on the site it'd be great to hear from them.

It'd be great if people we're able to share the site/ social media posts on their own online profiles to get things out there. Any and all questions/ contributions/ ideas etc. are welcomed and very much encouraged :)

Not enough tributes to Ricky Little, an unbelievable player for us for 10 season. Seems to be an even better guy. A fine example to young players with what he’s done

    Absolutely this!

Not been in this forum for a while, think I preferred it when we really were shite! Full of utter balloons now!

  8. WWF=wallace w**k fest to some guys on here . lets think back to last season when he embarrassed not only his self but us fans by his heroics on the park . agree he had a good game on wednesday his first in my opinion since he joined us . now he is of the pens 15 goals this season hope so but doubt it

    You’re a joy!
  9. Whilst I agree with a lot that's said about Swankie I can't agree that he was exclusively terrible on Saturday.
When we were playing well in the first half I thought he was having a good game, good touch and nice accurate, clever passes.
That said, yes, he wasn't great in the second half..... who was?
He's not a game chaser, I would have hooked him at half time and put on someone with more fight in them.
I also hope Hester gets a chance to prove himself over the next few weeks. It could be a make or break month for him.
