He was playing centre half for a good portion of the time, which simply wasn't his position. We're crying out for experience. Is it not the case that we can sign free agents?

In terms of Thomson, it was explained at the past couple of meetings that he's free to go at the end of December. The only way we get a fee is if we offer him pro terms, even if he declines. If not, he's off. And he is off.

We can only sign free agents if they were released before the transfer deadline day. Jambo was not. He will go back to the juniors.

Regan Thomson. Youth contracts expire at the end of December and a pretty big number of clubs want him. He'll be gone.

Youth contracts run for the whole season do they not. He will have signed the same forms as all our players that's why we could not play him till he turned 16

Jambo left Stenny due to the travel. We're going to lose a midfielder in December and we're lacking a wee bit in league experience. Would be disappointed if we didn't ask the question.

Are you serious? His legs had gone last year. Plus we can't sign anyone till Jan u less a dev loan.

It's always from one extreme to another with you. Think you need to calm yer jets and get a sense of perspective. Brand new team, some of them playing senior football for the first time, yet we've only been beaten in 90 minutes by Partick Thistle and Cove Rangers. Is this what happens when we have a decent start after most folk expected us to struggle? Expectations suddenly go through the roof

He made 5 changes to the team on Saturday after the two previous disappointing performances , performances which "disgusted" you apparently. So how can you claim he "has his favourites" ? What did you want him to do to reflect the previous two games? He has clearly shown that he won't be slow to drop players and freshen things up if he feels they are not performing for him or they drop below the standard he expects. I didn't agree with all his changes at all but at least he has now learned more about the capabilities of certain players in certain situations and he wasn't too stubborn to make the required changes in the second half which ultimately got us the point. I can't see him leaving SKD out again or playing Alfie up front himself ( I agree he is definitely an impact player) and I expect Thomson to be starting soon.

Well thank you. To me it looks as they are not coached very well. Albion were not a very good team but they were very well organised/coached. Surely if he was going to play the 3 in the middle of the park he would have been better starting Reagan on the left rather than Calvin when all his games have been central. The 3 of them were all  over the place. I believe we were winning  games due to the freshness of our squad and team not knowing our new players. Galt was not fit why risk him and possibly put him out for longer. Why not play Purdue on the left as it's obvious him and David cant play together . I still believe 442 would suit us better

I fear Calvin McGrory has gone backward after an impressive start in the first team

Was it not his first game since that horrendous injury against Airdrie and the game before against thistle he was Motm. You promote young Reagan who is a fantastic talent but write one of our own off for one bad performance. He obviously needs games to get back match fit.

  6. What is mark thinking dropping Sal. Alfredo is not a centre forward Sal has done really well holds the ball up well and is great in the air. I think we are screaming out for 442.  The system today does not work for me. We need to get a balanced side Mark is a loyal manager  and needs to upset some players. Gibby was not happy today at all. Galty is clearly injured. Calvin taken off but could have been anyone in midfield none of them played well. Onto next week

  7. Am I missing something. Mark does not know how to set up a team.  The shape we had today was abysmal.  I think this team is badly coached and managed. Albion Rovers were organised all over the park hungry and new there jobs. Think young Regan is a good player but not one to pin put hopes on. To me tommy is struggling at this moment and time and needs a rest. Joffrey runs about a lot has a bit of quality bit his positional sense is atrocious. Our defence looked horrendous today we looked all over the place. I like Clark as a player but think Mark made to many changes today. Gibby looks odd the pace he needs games. Unfortunately Willie's error for the goal. I dont know how we did not lose by more to be honest.  Alfredo is an impact player, Galty was obviously not fit. Asking player to place totally different positions. Jack is a quality footballer we should be playing him more but Mark has his favourites. I'm disgusted with the last few performances. I dont think Robert's is the answer. We will be bottom half with him in charge in my opinion.

  8. Well 3 weeks ago I was worried about what kind of squad Mark would assemble.

Watched last nights game against Cumbernauld Colts and was impressed and relieved.

Good to see muir back in goals he is a good organiser and good talker.

At the back the new centre halfs from largs are organised aggressive and good on the ball. Young Clark at left back looks to be a find her us. Fantastic on the ball strong in the tackle and good going forward. James Grant on the right looked better last night I have never been his greatest fan but looked more at ease in this team.

Midfield we had our new loan signing Tommy from Hibs. He looked strong good on the ball and a good tackler with good talking. This in turn meant Calvin played a bit more forward and I seen a different side to his game.

Galt was excellent looked very fit and linked up well with the new players and his penalty winning skills are still excellent. The boy Jack looked technically very good and should enjoy games st Hampden. Nice finish for his goal and good link up with galt and Sal.

Onto Sal who impressed me most last night. Holds the ball up well good in the air and an eye for goal.  Took his goal well and full of running.

The subs done well and as the same as everyone young Regan has ability in abundance. Hopefully Mark will use him a lot this season. Kieran done his usual pressing and working hard but I think he will be back up to Sal this year.

Could do with another midfielder and striker just to boost our squad I think.

A young energetic squad will lots of pace going forward. Strong defence with good goalkeeper behind.  Now looking forward to the season. The betfred cup games will allows this team to get to know each other.

  9. Surprised young grant has come back. He was so.out of the picture in the 2nd half of the season. I suppose he has a bit more experience now and hopefully learned from his errors.

Quite happy there has been a clear out of guys like Gerry, jambo and gow. To me these guys did not help our young players at all. Gibby is a player all young guys respect I think.

Agree with everyone else we need a couple of mid to late 20s players to support our younger side if things get tough

Would love to see big mcgeever back. Released by brechin anyone any idea were he is playing this year.

There are 100s of free agents but with our status still amateur we will be there last point of call . Waiting to see if more money available anywhere including juniors.
