  1. I’d say the very definition of “Best Picture” in any given year, and indeed the criteria is to be better than all the rest...what are you suggesting the criteria be? Outstanding on its own merits?? What on earth are you on about? It’s not a Hall of Fame, it’s quite literally the Best Picture Of 2018/17/16/15 delete as appropriate!
I just finding it amusing that a film can have the label "best picture" and still be crud. Typical Oscar shite though. Pretentious.
  2. Finally watched No Country for Old Men after putting it off for nearly 10 years. Great film up until the non event of an ending. Yet another film whose Academy Award for Best Picture proves that to win the best award in Cinema you just have to be better than all the rest rather than outstanding on your own merits.

And people say this is the Cohens best film? They did Big Lebowski for f**k sake.

  3. No harm in not enjoying Zelda, I'm finding it quite tedious and I really dislike having your bombs be a magic spell rather than the traditional system.

I heard a lot of criticism about the weapon durability, I personally think its a great system. Having to stop character movement to switch to a new weapon mid fight is mind boggingly dumb though, the controls feel clumsy to me overall.

There's a neat game there but its just not clicking with me.

  4. Get out
Pretty underwhelming, tbh. Read rakes of great reviews for it but had guessed the plot as soon as you see the maid, and there wasn't a single twist you don't see coming. Standard thoughtless horror that relies entirely on racial undertones to explain an absolutely dreadful plot.
Superb acting by the lead is the only reason it's watchable at all.
Felt exactly the same as you RandomGuy. It was a good film with a dumb, predictable plot twist. I enjoyed it enough on its own merits but after everyone losing their mind about it being the best film of 2017 I expected some kind of classic and it just isn't.
  5. Going through someone’s phone and sending a prank message or fraping them or going through their photos is truly abhorrent behaviour as well which some people seem to think is acceptable.
I wouldn't mind if someone was tactful or clever about it but its always some variation of "I'm gay" or a picture of a knob. C'mon folk bit of effort.
  6. Its partly that the skill level for games in the esports bracket is so high that there is an enjoyment to watching someone play at that level of skill especially when you arn't that capable yourself. In terms of viwership, games like counterstrike, dota or pubg are fun to bash around in but watching an organised team play is a totally different game.

Its interesting to see people who adore games like The Last Of Us maybe not have that same admiration for Twitch and the audience that caters for. The Last of Us is a fantastic game which just isn't that mechanically interesting in comparison to a Starcraft or a beat em up. Similarly most of the biggest games on Twitch have no narrative hooks so if that's what draws you to games esports are just going to sound dumb.

  7. Finally picked up a switch with Odyssey, Zelda and Binding of Isaac. I like it, it feels nice to hold, I love the customization aspect too. Kinda anxious to play Zelda after all the acclaim but yeah neat little gadget.
