St Johnstone not so much, so at least we aren’t alone in being shite today. The Old Firm aside, it’s my biggest hated thing in Scottish football. We only have two shots at glory, and I’ve been lucky enough to see us win both cups. Now we go into it half fit, half arsed, and with half a team still to learn each other’s names, and some signings still to be even made. Fcuking disgrace, and the sooner it gets fcuking binned and replaced with genuine warm-up friendlies, the better.

We had 3 new faces in the team compared to the end of last season. Don't be as kind as to give them the excuse of being unfamiliar with each other - we were absolutely honking today from the first minute.

At the macro level you are absolutely spot on but at the micro level -  WTF is it with adults (anyone over 17) wearing a replica football top?  Unless you are a football player there is no reason to be wearing a football top, especially the XXL versions.

WTF is it with adults who gatekeep what other adults wear

Aye, comes up on my LinkedIn from time to time. Some lad that does property investment, etc and local.

Seems to quite like a bit of PR and talking about how much he’s worth. Someone who likes a look through Companies House will find out soon enough if that’s true or not…

Doesn't make for great reading, to put it mildly.

Robinson expected to be unveiled as Aberdeen manager. Why us how come Motherwell have no problem holding onto Robinson given his success there. Now at Saints hardly time to let the paint dry and Aberdeen come in. My fingers are crossed but I'm sure money talks. Gutted 😞

You really need to stop spending your Saturday evenings drinking paint

Would that be the  Mr Gilmour that saved your club not once but twice . Once from a English speculator as in a documentary by BBC Scotland. Second when the bank was calling in the loan saved by selling Love Street to Tesco.  So if Gilmour has something to say the least we can do is hear him. I'm not saying everything Gilmour saying is right but he has the right to be heard.  I take it you were against Gilmour in the clubs darkest days. Or you have forgotten the hard work to save the club twice in those darkest days. Hopefully things are not bad we just spent all transfer income plus the government's 1.6 million loan in a blink of an eye the figure that almost took St Mirren out of existence. Thankfully this time it's a government interest free loan over a number of years . Still let's see what the AGM brings I doubt everything will be brushed under the carpet.

Gilmour isn't going to shag you, mate

How do you work that out? The difference between 7th and 11th is half a million. So if we do not make 7th we are in debt going into the following season. Do we gamble again and maybe lose another half million or try and reduce our costs by paying less and attracting poorer players? Your formula seems to be we keep gambling in the hope that it some stage it pays off. My philosophy is we build up a warchest before we start a 'gamble'.

And for the record the following Scottish Clubs have all entered Administration since 2000 -

    Queens Park

    Morton

    Clydebank

    Airdrie

    Motherwell

    Dundee (twice)

    Livingston (twice)

    Gretna (out of business)

    Rangers (out of business)

    Dunfermline

    Hearts

Those that survived had a sugar daddy bail them out. We don't but we could sell the Club with all the risks that entails. Or play in the Lowland League.

Comparing us to the likes of Gretna and Clydebank when you don't have any proper insight to the club finances is one hell of a stretch.

These arguments are just going round in circles at this point.

IMO for a club of our size to have a key player from a different Confederation the drawbacks outweigh the benefits.

Normally I would be keen to hold onto our better players as long as possible even if it costs us financially but not in this case - nothing personal.

A pity because Baccus has been one of the more interesting surnames to play for us but I say best if we let him deliver ecstasy and frenzied states elsewhere.

This is a really shite attempt at a wind up

You have it spot on. As a club we should always budget for worse case scenario. We don't want to be in last spot having budgeted to be mid table.

    Poor management IMO.

Can only hope we can get some big transfer money in.

    Yeah.

We should always budget to finish second bottom, just happy to be part of the pack, and never once aim above our station.

Let's usher in yet another generation of St Mirren fans who'll only ever witness a team happy to win a handful of games all season and set a goal of nothing but avoiding relegation, hoping we get lucky with a cup run.

God forbid someone has the ambition to try and move the club forward and aim a bit higher.

Agree to a certain extent but no one surely can say Gilmour does not have the clubs future at heart. The man saved the club from going bust. Not only that a English man who tried to take over the club. B BC proved Gilmour right. So this is a man who cares about the club .  There is only one person I would love on the board of the club that is Div. This is a guy who has integrity amongst the support who will tell it as it is. Div has indicated he wants no part in the board.  You are a fan mate we all look up to your straight talking.  However Div is a successful business man which brings its own hassles without pilling more pressure.  Have heard so much shit around the people who sit around me in the main stand who include high up SMISA members.  This shit needs to be sorted.  I no you don't want it. Div go for it the fans will be 99.9% behind you.  Kibble is a great thing for the club in my opinion would love to see it all come together.  Your the man Div.

He's not going to shag you m8

    A wee bit disappointed.

If we score next it will be 1-1 but if St Mirren the Maureens score next it will be 2-0.

'If St Mirren, who are currently 1-0 up at the time of writing, score next the score will then be 2-0.

If Dundee United score while it's 1-0 St Mirren, the score becomes 1-1'

Congratulations for posting one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.

I like Ray Bradshaw on the show and he seems to have a genuine love for football ie he has mentioned being on tour somewhere in England and going to a random game but that is poor.
Even if he had no knowledge of the games you mention he surely knows they won the Scottish Cup in 87 which would get them into the following seasons Cup Winners Cup

I was more having a go a Ali de Foy. She fronts St Mirren TV every week and claims to be a great supporter being privileged to do the job. You would think some European night photos around the stadium would have given her a clue.

She isn't, she's a Rangers fan pretending to be a St Mirren fan.

McGrath is a great addition. Surprised he never broke through at Wigan as it's clearly a level he could cope with. No problem with him going to United, after all we weren't in the running for him. Not sure who takes United's penalties but that's going to change pretty soon.

Except it's clearly not a level he could cope with if he's back up the road already. He's not good enough for the English Championship.

    Disagree with this

the current chairman was unbelievably unprofessional at the last meeting by not even having a copy of the accounts with him and not having the auditors at the meeting. SG for all he can be a bit of an arse, asked the same question about 10 times and no-one could answer it. I found it pretty poor from the current board and chairman

Stewart Gilmour just comes off in this story as sounding like a tedious c**t which is hardly a surprise to anyone.
