  1. In your opinion.

It's still going on second-hand information, and from what i've heard, none of the words used here were involved. Which i'd consider the right thing to do, from a employee confidentiality and also a duty of care perspective.

Exactly in my opinion. This is what this forum about, everyone’s different opinions.

It’s all a bit pedantic now. As I said in a previous post, if you hear information from a good friend you’d have no reason to distrust it. Second hand information or not.

It’s only Danny that’s “breached” employee confidentiality and duty of care, not AR.
  2. I was there and heard it first hand. DL’s exact words about Karim was that he “seems to have done a runner” as he hadn’t turned up to a couple of training sessions and his roommate had stated that all his things were gone.

As other posters have said if there’s anyone to blame for this being in the public domain it’s Danny only, not someone who brought it up on P&B.

FWIW if I hadn’t have been present and a good and trusted friend of mine had passed on this information, I would have no reason not to trust it.

  3. Why not just say “Danny Lennon stated in the Arria on Saturday that...” in that case then, and save the inevitable inquisition.

What is it with this constant fear of crediting genuine intel? It just means such statements either come across as utter BS, or individuals deliberately trying to stoke their own ego.

It’s a sad state of affairs that you have to pre-empt incredulous questions from your own fans, when it was DL who said it. Given it was said on Saturday and there was a large number of people in the Arria you would have thought it would have made it’s way round by now. Not even questions, just downright put downs over it, smacks of people raging that they weren’t in the know.

You get to know from posters over the years who the BS’s and ego strokers are. AR isn’t one of them.
  4. Adding Cumbernauld to the badge is just a short jump away from adding Cumbernauld to the name.
Fortunately the Third Resolution added at the time of the EK vote makes it extremely difficult to change the name now, and it wasn't exactly an easy task before that.
However the Chairman also proposed changing the CIC structure. The change he proposed is a move away from supporter control which means changing the name becomes a whole lot easier.
Join the dots. Cumbernauld Clyde is on its way.

He didn’t actually propose changing the CIC structure. He asked the owners that if we wanted to get to the Championship in five years and triple our turnover in that time, was our current structure the best way to do that. It was one of many things thrown out there for owners to think about. Very different from it actually being proposed and it getting voted on.

Another case of people adding two plus two and coming up with an alternative answer. Cumbernauld Clyde, has not, nor has it ever been, on the cards.
  5. Also the Foundation is run off mainly grants received and other fundraising. Advance Construction’s continued involvement with the foundation does not mean they supply them money to do so. For all you know that could just mean them just being a trustee and attending board meetings with a keen interest to advise on current and future projects.

  6. If you think that the clubs stance on Goodwillie and Love doesn't put people off then you are deluded.  Sorry if it feels like nitpicking but I guess I'm just fed up with money going to the community instead of players. I know they do good work but at the end of the day I just want to see a winning team on the park and money makes that much more likely. I genuinely couldn't care less about Football Memories or mental health teams. Just get us out the league.

Not saying it doesn’t but clearly we attract enough interest from other companies as they still advertise with us and sponsor players.

Money isn’t just going to the community side. I could care less about both as you need the community side to bolster the footballing side. A good name will attract future investors and fans alike. Why else do professional clubs have them? And let’s just forget our older fans and fans with mental health problems too. They’re not important [emoji848].

  7. Yeah the issues must be putting third parties off... is that why we’ve been able to get a sports brand supplying our kits who have never done so for another professional Scottish club?

Additionally, not reading between the lines, plenty of directors/officials involved with the club have sponsored the club shirts in the past - IFIC Forensics and Heartfelt to name a couple. To sponsor a team for two years running shows commitment and clearly Innes is putting his money where his mouth is. His company are extremely active in regenerating communities which also fits in well with our current Clyde in the community focus.

What pays the players wages is season ticket/match day income, player sponsors, prize money from the previous season, fundraisers, company advertising in the programme/pitchside, merchandise sales etc. So it’s not as if we NEED these two companies investing in the football side of things to get by. I really don’t get your point at all and it seems like nitpicking for the sake of it.

  8. You are right about us not advertising our activities enough but we don't want to be seen as bragging about things we do in the community. For your information though, we do run a disability section and were, I believe, the first in the area to do so but because of the nature of it we don't feel that it is appropriate to promote it other than to those who it is aimed at.  See the OfficialCcolts twitter feeds for details of all our activities such as the Lunch Club and after school club in Eastfield Primary today.

You’ve just invalidated your own argument. Why not advertise your community activities? If the community don’t know they’re there then they can’t utilise them! It’s not bragging, that’s just plain common sense - letting your local community know what’s available to them! Again lunch and after school clubs in one primary school doesn’t mean active ongoing community engagement. There are multiple schools in Cumbernauld! It also cuts out full time working parent families who can’t access services after working times. I can see why the relationship with NLL has broken down if the club can’t take constructive criticism and guidance over their current community engagement.

Having a nephew who is registered disabled, there are lots of charities in the area. They all advertise in the community because desperate parents want to know of these services being available to them. It’s also vital for these charities because they potentially need future parent volunteers to keep the services going. Not all “disabled” children are in assisted learning schools, many children on the autism spectrum, for example, are in mainstream schooling but they might not be able to cope with “mainstream” football coaching sessions with large groups of kids, so advertising openly (and not just targeted) helps reach these children and their parents too.

Volunteer staff and coaches are again admirable but all football clubs at this level need them, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to meet operating costs. Clyde openly advertise for them on an ongoing basis. The only paid people at that club are players and management/back room staff to the team. Even the players, who are part time, have full time jobs to juggle. Directors, photographers, website designers, lottery agents, supporters liaison officer and fundraisers etc are all voluntary positions, again with these people also having full time jobs.

  9. Fandabbywee78, what more do you want us to do?
" Colts sleepout in support of Glasgow City Mission and the Simon Community not forgetting our annual foodbank collection in aid of The House of Bread in  Cumbernauld Town Centre. Oh, and the various outreach programmes we are involved in. Oh, and the GoFitba programme which is currently ongoing at Broadwood at the moment."
Also, see our twitter account for details of the school based activities we are involved in.
P.S. there are more than just Stewart involved at the club!

Clearly it’s not all schools in close vicinity to Broadwood then as my kids haven’t even heard of you. Neither had I until six years ago.

See the Clyde Community Foundation and Clyde FC twitter feeds for details of exactly the type of things you should be engaging in. Do you do anything to help children or adults with mental health issues, or physical/learning disabilities for example? The things you list above, whilst admirable, just don’t go far enough. I’m down at Broadwood multiple times a week and see no mention of a GoFitba programme so clearly you don’t do enough to advertise any good work that you do.
  10. Broadwood is our home although just as Clyde have stated in the past in relation to moving south of the Clyde we are exploring other options.
As for other community work you are corrrect in what you say and in this respect I give you the Colts sleepout in support of Glasgow City Mission and the Simon Community not forgetting our annual foodbank collection in aid of The House of Bread in  Cumbernauld Town Centre. Oh, and the various outreach programmes we are involved in. Oh, and the GoFitba programme which is currently ongoing at Broadwood at the moment.
I suspect that the comments made in the previous tweet are bourne from the feeling that we have served our purpose as far as NLL are concerned and that despite constantly being referred to as stadium partners the reality is that we are just tenants and third in line to the the Clydes and SRUs of this world. A shame really.

Someone has a major chip on their shoulder.

I’ve lived in Cumbernauld all my life (30 plus years) and only know of Clyde engaging in schools when I was at school and even now with my kids being at school. That’s engaging in the community, as well as all the mental health initiatives etc. Having kids playing football through various levels in your set up is just running a football club. Were the terms of your grant Stewart not more about engaging in the community and not running a football club?
