  1. Not a great game of football but a valuable 3 points. Wullie Muir again excellent, get this man signed on a pro contract. Special mention to Billy Mortimer who I wanted off after 5 minutes, his control and cross for the first goal was excellent and a great finish for the second, still believe he is not the answer at right full back / wing back but he made me eat my words today. Was concerned with the defence in general as Stenny had 4 or 5 clear chances from corners that another team would have put away. Little seems to have lost all his confidence and seems so nervous even when playing simple passes. Today shows how important Jamieson is, not just for his strength and abilities but for his organisational skills. I think McKinnon will have an idea of what is needed and will be surprised if next season's squad has more than 5-6 players from this year's squad.
  2. Interview with Gerry Crawley (link below) talking about hopes for the future. https://www.pressreader.com/uk/scottish-daily-mail/20200104/283253099834007
  3. I totally agree that we are a great club and the job is an excellent opportunity. My concern would be if the job is advertised the window will near enough be closed when the new man is appointed and this may prevent anybody being brought in.
  4. I have a few points to make :- 1. As said multiple times before on this forum with relegation now a possibility the club will have to be much more decisive and hard headed when making decisions about managers instead of always thinking it will be better next season. I think also turning semi pro will make the club make these decisions even quicker in the future as (more) money will be on the line. 2. Have to admit I was/am a Roberts fan and was excited last year when he became manager especially after the home performances against Peterhead and Clyde and also was impressed with his recruitment and after the cup games at the beginning of the season thought we would be challenging for the playoffs (of course we still could be). Unfortunately we are very inconsistent and after excellent results we would have a run of sub par performances. I personally think that he made some errors in formation e.g. playing Lidouren too far forward or far out on the right hand side, but from his interviews it seemed he was planning to bring in some new faces in January. As said by others I think there must be a plan as whoever comes in will want to add some new faces and there is only a short window to do this. 3. I like everyone else would love to see Billy Stark come back, however would he want to come back? We all have to remember we had a group of excellent young players coming through when Billy took over and he was able along with a few good signings to produce the best QP team I have seen. I do not believe we have those sort of players coming through at present. We can always offer money now but it has been a number of years since Billy was involved in league football so would he be able to find the players we require in a limited period of time.
  5. Excellent overall performance again, but as said Brechin were poor so maybe not a true representation. Strange how things work out, with Block's injury I feel the team has improved as Main and McGrory provide a lot more mobility in the middle. Felt the game also showed although Thomson is a talent, he may not yet be at the level that has been mentioned in previous weeks. If he does go to Newcastle, I really hope he does not vanish. Lidouren and Galt once again were great and Lidouren's skills at dead balls will lead to many goals for us as the season goes on.
  6. Great overall performance, easiest game Muir has had for us, all I remember him having to do was one punch in the first half and catch a cross in the second. Just shows how good and solid the back 3 were, also liked the no nonsense attitude, if unsure belt it out the ground. Wing backs full of running, closing down the Stenny players along with the midfield. A special mention for Lidouren, who in the first half was head and shoulders above everybody else on the pitch (a definite for a new contract if/when we turn pro). Up front Salim was a strong presence and took his goal really well and Galt was really good, especially setting up our second goal. Nothing to fear against Brechin and if we play with the same level of intensity we should get the 3 points.
  7. Assume all fans will be in stand, Stenny fans on one side and QP fans the other like normal. Don't fancy being stuck behind the goal on the terracing, never gives you a proper view of action at the far end.
  8. The more I think about the game, the more convinced we have to return to a back 3 with two wing backs. On an artificial pitch the ball will be moving faster and although Little and Jamieson are big and strong, mobility is the main problem. I would play Clark between them giving us a bit more pace at the back. For wing backs i'd probably go for Summers and Grant. Up front if Salim is playing, Roberts will need to play either Moore or Agyeman with him as both have a bit of pace and can run onto the balls he wins in the air.
  9. Thanks for the information, it both fit, they will be valuable members of the squad.
  10. Has anyone heard any news if Cammy Foy and Adam Martin will be fit enough to take part in pre season training assuming both are still at the club.
  11. I work with Brendan Sharpe's dad who told me Brendan presently has an injury.
