So he made signings that didn't work out. Just like May, Pressley, Houston, Hartley and every other manager have made bad signings. That doesn't make him responsible for the 'collapse' of the club.

Hughes was given a budget and spent it. How a manager spending the money he's given by the Board of Directors makes him responsible for the 'collapse' of a club is beyond me.

Some utter nonsense being talked on here about John Hughes. He gave us two 7th placed finishes in the SPL, attacking football and some great signings(Latapy, Stokes, Aafjes, Schmeichel). Anyone who thinks he was a bad manager for us needs their head examining.

O'Hara won't be going anywhere- Hartley gave him a new contract. I can imagine Shepherd will be quite in demand from a number of clubs if he's not in Hartley's plans.

I find it interesting that Houston got slated for signing players released from Hearts and Hibs, yet Hartley is now signing players released from Hamilton, Patrick Thistle, Ross County and Kilmarnock and he's an incredible manager.

If a manager says there's going to be an "exciting 10 days" that clearly indicates a number of signings are going to be made. No signings were made during that period- hence they fell through.

I don't have a negative vandetta- it's a fact that some players have rejected us given no one was signed in that 10 day period.

I think it's clear given the "exciting 10 days" promo that never happened that some(possibly all) of the players Hartley had offered contracts to have rejected us. I hope we haven't been chasing players who were never going to come and will now be left with even worse journeymen than the ones signed by Dunfermline and Morton etc. like Martin Woods.

We only have 5 defenders which would leave no back up whatsoever if we don't get someone in.

What purely defensive midfielders are better that him in this league?

I knew Taiwo would easily get a Premier League team. In terms of being a purely defensive midfielder, there's no one better at this level. The issue last season was the players beside him weren't doing their jobs in terms of creating chances which then led to Taiwo being criticised for some reason.

We don't have rich owners like Ross County. Yes, a few of our BoD are wealthy but they've already put a lot of funding into the club without which it wouldn't be here. There's always people blaming the Board of Directors for not effectively throwing their own money away but I don't see many of them offering up their own. The Bairn for life scheme only has around 100 members.

Macgregor doesn't out enough into the club for them to have 5 times our wage budget.

Ross County should not be offering 5 times the wages of Falkirk Football Club on half the support. The whole point of closing the academy was to increase first team resources. I'm struggling to see how we can be doing that if we're offering 5 times less.

Surely something's gone badly wrong if there's no business in the pipeline.

Nothing to do with the rest of the board. He's appointed by the directors to run the club which he's clearly not doing well if he's letting matters like this slip.

Surely it's the CEO who is employed to do things like this. Nothing whatsoever to do with the board.

I always thought Alex Cooper looked decent but was never really given a chance. Houston himself said he'd need 10 games in the team to get up to speed, and then dropped him after 3.

Yes, I do expect key players such as our goalkeeper to be as good as United's. How are we expecting to win the league with inferior players to our main rivals?

He wasn't at Tannadice last season because they terminated his contract early.

I'm assuming at least Loy and Harris won't be here after Hartley saying they weren't in his current plans for next season.
