  1. I've just added a few shorts n socks designs to complete the kits... and to avoid the dreaded black and red sock combo I've opted for a proper traditional 70s look...
  2. Please message me and we can talk more. I'd be happy to help in any way I can but during the season my time is mostly taken up with commitments to FC United and a magazine/fanxine I produce... But as I say, I'd be happy to help if I can...
  3. Is that a serious proposition chief, and what would be required? Dunno if you're havin us on there or not there as most of the people I know are, shall we say, are a bunch of piss-taking wind-up merchants, so please excuse any apparent scepticism!
  4. Haha. I've only, literally, been supporting the club in person since March... though with a record of two wins from two games, I probably boast the best record for any Cowden fan! And you should definitely start a campaign for some 50th anniversary kits - I already want the three I just designed!! Reckon they'd be big sellers if they were marketed well. Now for that campaign, Muzza...
  5. By popular demand (although it should probably be on a 2019-20 thread!), and based on no particular template other than the five stripes on the front of the classic old shirt, hopefully these could be put to Errea, or whoever deals with the shirt design side of things, for early consideration as an anniversary top... or three
  6. I don't think the word genius is the right one to use, though I have been called many things before.... But here you go pal....
  7. At FC United, we've just changed from O'Neills to Errea and submit our own shirt designs. Perhaps Cowden could consider this for next season if a templated shirt is produced this time around, and I'm sure the designers in Italy would be happy to knock something up for 2019-20...
  8. And some based on their Jago templates (oh the joys of photoshop!)
  9. As I'm really not bored and awaiting the start of the new season already, here's a couple more away designs based on the existing Errea Eiger templates (though I definitely prefer the yellow and blue versions)...
  10. Aye, if I book well in advance, I can get a return to Edinburgh from Warrington for about £24. The Hearts game will be a £30 return so happy with that, though because I booked only a week or two before the Cove game at the end of the season, it cost over £60 to get to Cowden and back. Hopefully won't have to pay anaything like that again, but worth every penny in the end. If I wanted to do the Cove away game, that would have cost about £150! Crazy.
  11. Haha, when I added the red, I did think it looked a bit Sevco! And did actually mention to a friend the fact I wasn't impressed with the Rangers-esque socks on the kit for the Cove game. I'm surprised yellow has never really been incorporated into a home shirt before, though, so maybe a good time to start, with next season being a promotion push!!
  12. Plenty of options, and as a previous post mentioned, Errea do produce some decent jackets etc, so looking forward to the eventual designs. Here's a version of that Eiger template, with red replacing the yellow. I'm not bored. Honest.
  13. Using a blue 'Eiger' template (and a picture of one of my Cowden tops), I just photoshopped a rough design and reckon this would look pretty decent... the yellow obviously being a nod to the other Brazil!
  14. I noticed that the only Errea shirt at this year's World Cup will be this number for Iceland. Possible template for a Cowden top?
  15. I've never actually done Tynecastle before so a good shout there mate, cheers.
  16. I was hoping the fixtures might fall a bit differently for the cup games, but can't complain at that really and booked my return train ticket last night for £10 from Warrington to Edinburgh for the Hearts match. Returning on the Wednesday. Just need to work out what time I'm going to arrive on the Tuesday/judge what drunken state it will leave me in by the time I land at Waverley, and some cheap digs now! I spent years trying to avoid paying on trains (before the dreaded 'barriers' were put up), and hating the rail system having spent many a lone hour awaiting delays, but at the prices you can pay well in advance these days (a tenner for a near 3-hour journey, crikey - costs me a tenner return to do a 30-minute return around these parts... or half that just to get a return bus ticket to the town centre), and the convenience of the Warrington Edinburgh line, I'm hoping this will be the first of a few Cowdenbeath games next season. Plus, with Cowden getting almost half of the gate receipts, this is one time I can visit Tynecastle and not begrudge handing over my hard-earned too much So despite the lack of rail travelling away supporters watching The Miners these days, you might encounter a strange/drunken Mancunian or two along the way next season if you do get to the aways. Also hoping to debut a Cowden Reds flag at my next game, so can't wait for the season to start now!
  17. As an aside, and to take the talk away from transfer rumours and signings during pre-season summer months... I was wondering, other than numerous performances in the Cowden shirt or rivals' capitulations down the years.... what's the funniest thing you've seen at the match, or going to the match? An incident that still makes you laugh to this day.... One of my own, although not funny for me at the time, was a time where a stray ball was destined for me in the stand and, thinking I'm Pele, I had visions of volleying the ball as far as I could right back on to the pitch. Unfortunately, sue to the amount of pre-match ale I'd consumed, I ended up flat on my arse, completely missing said ball, with around 4,000 people and the television cameras looking on. Thankfully in the days before youtube and to save any further embarrassment to myself, I'm not saying the game! Still makes me squirm thinking about it, but the 'mates' around me at the time found it highly amusing... especially the lad in the opposite stand who came up to me in a bar after, asking: 'Was that you?!'
  18. Season tickets for 2018-19 are now available to buy on the Football Nation website... http://www.thefootballnation.co.uk/cowdenbeath-shop?sort=featured&page=2
  19. I think you might be left disappointed with that request pal, and be sorry for what you asked for... as I imagine the response would be more akin to the Chelsea Pensioners than Chelsea Heeley!
  20. I thought I'd better start this thread... having looked back at the original page from the 2017-18 season, where the second post talked of Kris Renton being off to Alloa. Well, he's back at Cowden, who are once again 'looking forward to' another season in the bottom tier of the league 'having only been in the same division as Hibs, Hearts and New Rangers a few years ago'... as many feel they have to state when looking at the situation today. But this summer, do fans have greater hope for the year ahead? Surely, the long-suffering Miners support can't be inflicted with another dire campaign and relegation play-off trauma. Surely lessons have to be learned so the club doesn't have to go cap in hand looking for a sudden influx of cash to keep it alive for the following 12 months with the anticipation of Lowland League football. There seems to be a positive recruitment in place so far, and dare I say it a positive vibe following the Cove match, with a manager who appears cut out for the nature of this level, while Donald Findlay talks of promotion... I'm sure, in my limited knowledge as an outsider looking in, that most would be happy not to have a club that isn't adrift at the bottom of the league for the majority of the season and mid-table security. Though is it right to dream of a play-off push, or is it the recent sun and Bank Holiday intoxication talking there?
