    Turned out an enjoyable match.

I was pleasantly surprised how poor Thistle are.

Thistle better hope this season isn't cut any shorter. They may be visiting Coatbridge and Cowdenbeath next season.

Lang MoM with the Thistle goalie just behind.

Agree but can't wait till Lang has to get into second gear. Strolled it.

Fair play to sneddon, he played a blinder.

That has to do Shiels confidence a real boost as well.

  2. Derby's make football so the more the merrier. I'm a recent Clyde fan so the rivalry doesn't mean that much to me personally but I am looking forward to all the games, home and away. Geography isn't the only factor, ask any crystal palace / Brighton fan and being in different leagues would naturally dilute the interest.

For me, I am hoping for a 10 goal thriller (with Clyde scoring no less than five) with dodgy refereeing decisions, at least 1 wild red card challenge and possibly a car park fight

That will get set the tone for the season 😜

I 100% agree with this; I think team is better with Lang in the side Of course it is,  but like Goodie he is not immune from criticism or comment. He does often dive in and he is needlessly at times over aggressive. Parts of his game he needs to improve and learn.

Yip, for someone so composed on the ball he can seem to be a bit rash in the challenge.  But you need defenders who will let the strikers know they are in a match... as long as he is doing it outside the box and not getting sent off! His decision making will only get even better with a decent run of matches under his belt.

  4. Both teams with a lot to play for so should be a good one. Montrose seem to have our number this season so DL will need to change something.   I agree with the above that this is not a game for Johnston to start. We need to complete man for man all over the pitch or it will be another stroll for the Mo.

Thought much the same in that we could have at least made a game if it for the last 20 mins once the subs came on. It was obvious by that point that Celtic couldn't be arsed and were happy to just ping the ball about. The second half was a snooze fest in shite conditions.

Could spot the Clyde fans that hadn't been to Broadwood in years cutting about in tops from 5/10 years ago. Unfortunately don't think there was anything there to get them coming back anytime soon.

Clyde fans! Lucky you. I had the James Forrest fan club surrounding me!

  6. If we had lost today I would have accused DL of shoehorning, but it's hard to complain with 3 points on the board. I'm not convinced you can have love and wylde in the staring eleven but DL has forgotten more about football than I know so as long as we are out of the relegation zone I won't complain.

Was that really Lang's first senior goal?

If it was the timing was perfect.

  7. I had a quick look at the league 1 final standings over the years an 40 points seems to be enough to keep clear of the relegation play offs. Given the injuries and a rather poor recent run I think we are doing ok to be on track for safety at the halfway point. Hoping the injuries start to clear up and we can start looking up instead of down.

I don't think it is a coincidence that our form has went downhill after Ally Love got injured. He might not be the best player in the world but he is never one to give in and always gives 100%

I can't remember him having stand out game but I agree, we always seem to be better when he is in. Hopefully he can spark a change in form today

  9. Hope both sets of fans come out in numbers tomorrow. Been looking forward to this fixture since they were announced tbh. From what I gather Falkirk set up more attack minded at home and if Clyde set up the same it should be a great game. Would much prefer to be going into this game with a match fit Rankin but have every confidence we can take something from the game with the players available. I'm under no illusions that Falkirk will be out for revenge after the reverse fixture result and a massive test for us.

  10. I don't think I voiced my opinion on the thread but I genuinely feared the worst after our pre season. To be sitting where we are at after the first quarter (despite some disappointments along the way) is very pleasing.  Injuries will be our main challenge this season, if we can get and keep the players we have fit we should be fine. A couple of long term injuries and I think we would definitely need to start looking at loans

  11. Montrose had a game plan and it worked a treat. The fouling was definitely a part of it. When you need points you do what has to be done and I'd be disappointed if the roles were reversed if we didn't show the same fight. Montrose were simply better in all areas of the field in footballing terms and the most appropriate word from this thread to describe Clyde was sluggish. This was the type of game we really missed Rankins energy and leadership.
