Unfortunately Tuesday will see us consigned to play off football, we don't have a premier league standard squad or manager, I don't care what the happy clappers say. It's all well and good beating the Arabs and the Pars but we have struggled against QP, Arbroath & Airdrie, that is not the sign of a top flight team.
Having said that, obviously we will now skoosh it by 3 goals on Tuesday, Utd will get the shiters up them and we will stroll to the title!

Not playing a proper defensive midfielder definitely hindered us but it was our inability to cope with high balls into the box that cost us the game today, not the CM situation.
He did but chose to play him at CB, again! Corr will never develop into the player we need him to be if IM won't give him game time, he may be young and make mistakes but he knows the position, I actually think he would have done well beside Murray or Watson coaching him through the game.

You have to stick the knife in and twist it - but into an opponent who are already mortally wounded and gasping for their last breath. Fitba can sometimes be a cruel, cruel game.
And that is exactly what will make them more dangerous, guaranteed they will find that extra 10% against us, they always do. All this talk of hitting them for a hatfull is a nonsense, I'll take another one goal win, secure the points and give the guys a couple of days off before we smash the pars.

Goodwin must stay, look at the early season form and the goals you were banging in, this is just a wee blip like other teams have had, plus we all know Goodwin is crap at getting teams out of a wee slump so it will give the other teams a good chance of catching you
You have a good squad, they are just being made to look mediocre now, whether that is the amount of games being played in this period or crap tactics and a lack of motivation I don't know, but if you're sitting top of the league and you can't go out motivated to give 100% and win every match, if you're not then that is a leadership issue!

The game and crowd was pretty flat until Hamilton went in on their keeper, that, for me, turned the game, got some fire in the bellies of the players and crowd.
And Stants was back, just quietly doing what Stants does, thought he played his more defensive role superbly tonight.
Now if we can just get Dick to pass to a Rovers player instead of humping it up the park every time we might do even better.

Easton was holding lower back, Kev is fine.
I saw him trying to stretch his back out towards the end of the Partick game the other week, hope it is nothing long term and can be managed

Several posters have commented that X can cover here and Y can cover there, unfortunately the way the game is these days, being able to cover isn't going to win titles. To an extent football is getting more like the US version with absolute specialists in each area, yes they may be able to cover for 15 minutes maybe longer if needs be due to injury or dismissals during a match and I appreciate Murray likes players who can play different roles but I think you need at least one specialist in each position and, with a squad of 22, the same available as back up.
I know that is the perfect scenario, having 2 full 11 a side teams to choose from and it does pose issues as to who goes on the bench and who misses out but that is where the data analysts come in, working out what positions, in a normal 90 mins, are likely to require the use of subs.
It also does not permit much in the way of flexibility of formation or tactics however, if you have 2 specialists in every position, playing the same formation every match, surely the odds of a positive result would be improved, or am I just blethering shite as usual

Anyway... any rumours going around on who we could be looking at for CB? Or are we stuck with Andy Considine as our only rumoured name?
Lets hope this new talent dude spots someone sharpish then
Curious where the funding for all this additional support staff is coming from, must be impacting the playing budget surely, cannot see the new 'owners' bankrolling all this work and extra staff without a tangible return, if not this season certainly next term

Board meet on Mondays, and I'd guess they've been talking to candidates, so reasonable logic suggests an appointment would swiftly follow.
You would like to think so but..........
Suspect they will go for the cheap option (financially) and offer Fallon the job, then sack him at Christmas when relegation is staring them in the face again. Mind you, nobody expected The Snake to turn up at Station Park so who knows what they have up their collective sleeves this time.

Still nothing about the snake on the FGR website, given he was on a rolling contract to May25 can't imagine there would be much compo to sort out. Fallon seems a decent guy but surely the club needs someone with experience of senior football management to take it forward

Absolutely gopping, what were they thinking

Mullin signing doesn't excite me as much as a decent keeper or big mobile centre back with positional sense and no need to dive in would

You would like to think that, if the current manager does stay and given his playing career, he might be well placed to bring in defenders who have something about them and who the club can improve. You would think that, wouldn't you?

Moore isn't good enough IMO and Ross other than a peach of a free-kick has been anonymous.
Ross has been struggling with a hamstring for a while now, could be rest in the close season and good rehab will see him back fresher.

To be fair, my son said something similar when I showed him the new proposals for the Main Stand. Made me think, as my first impression was that it looked good. New isn’t always better. The current white and blue facade that’s currently there is what we know. That’s what represents Raith Rovers to those driving past. On reflection the new facade just looks like something I would expect to see in an industrial estate, albeit with a new big screen and some new badging (which to be fair, would be an improvement). If you took down all the current advertising boards, you’d likely get a similar effect from decluttering the frontage.
You make a good point @Scary Bear but the costs of constantly having to get that repainted every couple of years could be spent elsewhere by putting a long-lasting weatherproof cladding on it. It is facing the sea and takes the brunt of the weather so the cladding makes sense, just as long as they put back a Turnbull Hutton Stand sign on there I am happy with the changes

Slater going to Arbroath
Ross has no idea if he will be offered another year
Unless Hamilton sack Rankin, Mckinnon will be here until at least Christmas when someone in the Championship does get hooked then he will disappear like sna aff a dyke
