You’re no kidding. My updated list, including Prince, makes it 26 full time players who we are paying wages to. And that’s not including kids like Dunne who are also first team eligible. Savings must be made in January. I’m sure there were noises from the Club that they were aiming for around 20 first team players of reasonable quality? Not really worked out clearly.

    Goalkeepers (3)

    Fasan (1 yr)

    Mitchell (1 yr)

    Mutch (3 yrs)

    Defenders (8)

    Robson (1 yr)

    McGhee (1 yr)

    Muirhead (1 yr)

    Dallison (2 yrs)

    Harrison (2 yrs)

    Kidd (1 yr)

    Brough (1 yr)

    Russell (6 months)

    Midfielders (9)

    McKee (1 yr)

    Owen-Evans (1 yr)

    Sammut (1 yr loan)

Froxylias (1 yr initial & 1 yr option)

    Paton (2 yrs)

    Greenwood (1 yr)

    Petravicius (2 yrs)

    Irving (6 month loan)

    Bauben (4 months)

    Strikers (6)

    Lewis (1 yr initial)

    Turner (6 month loan)

    OHara (1 yr)

    Mackin (1 yr)

    Haber (1 yr loan)

    Rudden (6 month loan)

At least a lot of them will only have 6 months to go come January. With any luck  a few will wander off with a couple months in their pocket with a new club lined up. Can but dream.

  2. We are getting better with each passing week. Not much at a time, but everyone seems to be broadly agreeing about the signs of improvement.

What we can't agree on, is what formations or players should be used. Thank f**k it is nothing to do with any of us.

Let's just let the staff get on with that sort of thing eh?

I think he will be a good signing. I liked him at heats and utd. He has been released by a hearts team that are currently top of the premiership, just because he can't get in that team doesn't mean he won't stand out in ours.

He might already have a bit of an understanding with Irvine as well so that could be valuable.

Paul Paton has gone from forest choice hiding midfielder to third choice behind Buaben and McGhee in the space of less than a week.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I thought their narrow pitch pretty much played into our hands, and was far better suited to our game than theirs. It was easy for us to stay compact and connected at the back, and they seemed to be needing width that simply wasn’t there.

I guess they were looking to restrict better players, but when we rolled up with players of questionable quality, it was a case of “thanks very much, that pitch will help us no end”.

I've seen a few Alloa fans bemoaning the width of the pitch. Seems they are saying that it's holding them back more this season than it is any of the visiting teams. Does seem a fairly bizarre way to go about things, narrow the pitch then sign wide players that can't then play to their strengths. Almost Falkirk levels of forward planning, that.

I'm fine. Been having a good talk about football today. Nice to see us get a win at last.

BBC article on Dobbie (Stephen Dobbie: Queen of the South striker is Europe's most prolific marksman) good interview with him too and chat from Rodgers & Naysmith.

    Some player!

I thought it was a horrendously bad article from the BBC. It's a great achievement, but attempting to conflate it with players playing in Serie A and La Liga is desperately poor journalism. It would be a bad article if they had been talking about the Scottish Premiership, never mind the Scottish Championship.

Don't get me wrong, Dobbie is some player at this level, but the BBC need better editors before posting thos sort of headlines.

Oh, Im sorry sweet buddy. Am I not allowed to respond to a belter that accuses me of something out of nowhere, then goes on a rampage through all of my posts?

I'll just sit here and let you do what you want. Since you are obviously the king of the internet.

Or, here is a different idea, you can continue to be the tragic little spunk weasel that you are, and the rest of us can continue to talk about football.  g'night, spud.

Given your meltdown through the week I think the choice of wording is quite interesting.

Once again someone has replied quite calmly and you've flown off the handle.

Who are you, who do you think you are talking to, and what has this person allegedly done to you?

I've been here a matter of hours and you are behaving like I've kidnapped your pug..

    Why are you so aggressive?
