Sean’s no getting a break just now, head injury has cleared up after 20 stitches but he had an infected insect bite on his leg last week but a course of antibiotics will have him ok for this Saturday. Must say Arnie Bembo has been excellent coming in the last couple of games, especially yesterday. He had a fantastic game.
Ross has personal issue’s and he wants to come out of football for a bit, shame and a blow as he is a very talented young player who we thought very highly of. The club and especially the manager have supported and helped Ross in a number of ways for almost 14 months.

It had been one thing after another for Sean this season unfortunately, but good to hear that he's fit again and may be in the squad next weekend. Arnie has been very good though, with Sean fit it gives the manager a bit of a selection headache, a good one though. Sorry to hear about Ross as I thought that he had a lot of potential, and you could see a big difference in him after only a few months with the Senior team. I hope that he can make a return some time in the future as he's too good to go out of the game altogether. Well done to the club for supporting him, and thanks for the info. Kefc.

Credit to BSC and that result was fully deserved. It’s time for SPFL teams to stop underestimating lowland league teams.

For east fife though, that was painful. League form is good but Young’s cup record as manager is shocking.

I've been to several Lowland League matches in recent seasons and the standard is improving all the time, especially as the ex.-Junior sides are beginning to move up from the East of Scotland League. There's now very little difference between the top sides in the Lowland League and most League 2 sides, and the gap to some League 1 sides is narrowing all the time, so there's no disgrace in losing to teams in the higher echelons of the Lowland. I think in the near future we will see sides like Kelty, Bonnyrigg, BSC make their way into the SPFL, especially if they make the method of moving up less complicated and less restrictive.

Really need to commend Ferguson and his staff on the structure of the back 5

Keeper has looked solid all season.

Full backs Cennerazzo and Linton looking to be in their peak with mature commanding performances week in, week out. The wand of a left foot on Linton is a game changer in itself.

The new centre back pairing giving Kelty an incredible balance along the back line. Scobie a natural leader and started to show his class once getting up to speed. Mendy growing with every game and looking like the dominant presence they have needed at this level.

I really felt after last season the defence was needing a restructure and they seem to have found that at a crucial time.

Plenty games to play and time will tell but Kelty look to be in a privileged position at the moment with the buzz around the players at the club, Barry's built a dressing room that will rise to the expectations. It's going to be a hell of a season!

Totally agree, the improvement in the defence can be seen in the amount of goals lost this season compared to last, but Ferguson also changed the team's formation so that the defence has more protection and the midfield can be more competitive. What's also good is that all the changes don't make the team less attractive to watch, and I always look forward to watching them play.

If it wasn,t for it being a september weekend and a friday night live on telly then im sure we would of sold our allocation no problem, we might still do but i doubt it, i think it being all ticket will affect the crowd some neutrals who would of went if it was pay at the gate maybe wont be able to get for a ticket, so far i know of the team bus and 4 supporters buses plus plenty of cars coming up

Totally agree. If I could say anything that you could pass on to fellow Talbot fans travelling by car and that's to maybe arrive as early as possible as parking will be difficult around the ground, although many may already be aware of this. I was at Kelty's game on Saturday and it was difficult to park with 1100 there, so it'll be much worse with 2100 turning up.

They were direct and physical. The ball was long 9/10 times they had it. Some size of a team too! Think only 3 boys were under about 6ft and most a bit bigger than that too. Ref could have sent off at least two of them. We were great 1st half but they started battering us 2nd half. Great effort from the lads. Days like this justify the decision to leave the juniors 100% over!

I agree about their style of play and about the possiby red cards. There have been many days that have justified the move from the Juniors, and this was definitely one of them.

Thought we were the better team today , certainly only team wanting to play football but wasn’t to be , probably decent revenue from crowd but league had to be priority imo so no too fussed about going out , best of luck to Solihull who brought a  healthy support in the next round

It was a great effort by the team today, but I was disappointed by Solihull thought they would have been a lot better than they actually were. Agree that the league is the priority and Bonnyrigg's defeat today gives us a boost.

Yip, mostly our youth players 16 to18 year olds......

4-0 looks like an easy win but the youngsters worked hard and looked sharp in spells and Kelty had to be on their toes for the full 90 minutes. It was an enjoyable game as both teams played a lot of good football at a good pace making it easy to forget the non-stop rain!

No it's not a bad thing, but everyone knows Spartans were the prime movers behind the LL thinking it would be a straightforward step into the SPFL.  Didn't quite for out like that and at the moment it looks unlikely they will ever realise their ambitions.

EK and KH hold similar ambitions, and of course ES want their league status back, they all have the big budgets.  Not easy, but very interesting to watch.

Good performance last night.  The Killie team was a young one but they looked capable so we had to be sharp.

McKirdy could be player f the season if he keeps up his early form.  The boy covers ground like Kante!

Good to see Philp & Mutch start and have good games.

It was a very good performance last night, Kelty controlled the game pretty much from start to finish. Hard to fault anyone last night, everyone put in a good shift, but as you say McKirdy was outstanding. Looking forward to Saturday to what should be another cracking match.

Ah well second trip to the seaside this week, away to CSS at Marine Drive. Never been to this venue before so looking for a Rose victory to stay top off the League after the first week of the season.

    C’mon The Rose

This'll probably be your toughest test so far, good venue but pitch has quite a slope from shyline to shyline making good football that wee bit more tricky. All the best.

    Watched this.

"Exceedingly robust" Dalbeattie tackling and Kelty profligacy kept it to 3-0 at HT.

Second half rout - albeit Star squandered a few chances.

    Gulp-inducing chasm in quality.

Didn't think Dalbeattie had that many clear cut chances but they did battle hard. Didn't expect 8-0, probably nobody did, but a tremendous start to what will be a tough campaign.

Never even thought tbh, we put them up last year although we feel we give real value for money wether its the matchday experience, hospitality or through our season ticket pricing or installments payments

Think next year we will see a few of the bigger clubs increase the pricing as the Lowland League grows and there may be VAT to factor in for some clubs too, £8 is about right amount at this level so we feel theres value at £7.

£7 is very good value to watch Kelty in what is  a good league that's  improving in quality season by season. I very rarely come away from a game not having thoroughly enjoyed the match. I also look forward to the next match immensely no matter the opposition.

Not sure how well stocked we are at right back for Ford to be on the list?  Elliot is a good wee player and will be sad to see him go, maybe we will see Philp in at RB when fit with Leighton the other option.

Chalmers is decent, really effective in the air and at winning the ball but not good enough with the ball at this feet for me.

I also think that Elliot is a good player, and he was getting better year by year. He'll be missed.
