  1. I do know recruiting North East players now is not affordable and it was a push back in the heydays also. My point I was trying to get across probably not very well was whoever is steering the ship ultimately has the destination in there hands and let’s put it like this if you are a painter and suddenly become without any experience or knowledge become the boss of a fuel refinery (for example) your new company will fail especially if you surround yourself with other painters.
  2. I wasn’t being cheeky I was answering your post, I didn’t mean joining a North East league I was on about recruiting North East players as in the past they have been some of our best the club has ever had. But they are expensive (wages) and need to travel a lot ( geographical)
  3. It concerns me and did as a supporter, I have and have never had anymore involvement in BRFC more than that. And a football forum is in my opinion the place to air opinions, is it not?? BRFC may as you say have to concentrate more locally for players and actually that to me is no bad thing at all and actually welcome that as let’s be brutally honest the players you say we attracted from the central belt hardly set the heather on fire and training there is something that can also be stopped if we can get locally sourced players, thus saving money. Personally we would have been far better in the past looking at the North East than central belt but the wages and travel precluded this (that’s the financial and geographical bit I mentioned). Football is all about opinions and last time I looked we still are all allowed to have one.
  4. Partially yes, partially financially (historically), partially geographically but the problems always started for me when we were an SPFL club with a board of directors who knew very little about football who then appointed managers who also knew very little about football who signed players who couldn’t play football. And that was the biggest problem that led us to where we are now but hopefully the slide won’t keep going.
  5. My preferred method of disposal of supporters club shares would be to sell them off in small blocks and limit the sale to one block per person, won’t happen of course but I’d much prefer someone wanting to take control putting ideas forward to a wide audience of share holders that would support the best candidate for the football club and not someone with ulterior motives let’s say. My information is that BRFC will be merged with another local club and if you think this will be for the good of our club,I don’t. Nor do I think it will be in anyway a positive move either on the park or off it, but time will tell no doubt as normal.
  6. Here is a bit of a conundrum for everyone to mull over, say someone offers the Supporters club a sum of money to buy the major shareholding they hold and they agree a price!! My point is what exactly do the supporters club do with that money? Because what they are supposed to do with it is hand it over to the football club as that’s what moneys raised by SC is constitutionally bound to do!! So in essence whoever buys these shares will get that money straight back which is exactly why they shouldn’t have bought them in the first place, interesting isn’t it
  7. Treat it how you want Redcar I personally don’t give a shit, just have to wait and see, and no I won’t be commenting any further on it as have no hard info, like I said it’s a hunch which will remain with me. The point of the post was be carful what you wish for really as we’ve been here before.
  8. Just a little prediction for everyone I think our board of directors will be more or less walking on mass at the end of the season if not before. Have a hunch who will be drafted in to chairman’s seat and if everyone thinks it’s bad just now, just wait
  9. Stirling very lucky to be in the next round , feel sorry for Berwick as played the better football throughout but didn’t take chances and got hit with a sucker punch in injury time from a corner and box scramble. Not impressed with Stirling apart from the number 9 , however good luck to them in the competition, hard chips to us but going in the right direction [emoji169]
  10. The excitement is palpable [emoji42] May have to concede as we don’t seem to have a team as yet......[emoji35][emoji31]
  11. Just seen our illustrious Chairman and Walla on border news[emoji85] Eyre- we need more people through the gate, he disputes the club have been run badly [emoji85][emoji85][emoji85] We need investment £50k ? £100k for a start, who in the world would trust that mob with 50 bloody pence. Walla- should have got rid of the manager sooner after we got beat 7-1 at QP - should have been sooner. For the love of god you are a director. I just can’t believe these people and we will go nowhere until some people who know about football and business and commercial nouse can get involved. Sorry but you all need to leave immediately for the club to start climbing back up the football hill. Unfortunately if you lot stay that hill is a bloody insurmountable mountain.
  12. Maybe a sort of agent for Brownlie, for after dinner speaking perhaps, also have [emoji101]this.
