He's available he has experience and his win rate as you have quoted from a higher level...I'd say give him until the season end to keep us away from 10th.......happy to hear who you would bring in to keep us up.

Nobody at the moment. It's clear Duffy was the issue. McLean should be given time to bring in his own targets. It is a massive week for him.

Let's not forget Duffy was the "experience" option the last time.

It’s already too late. Everything you have said is spot on. Clyde is a great job for any experienced manager as it can only get better. Ian McCall gets my vote

Ian McCall is an interesting one.

A man with a 39% win rate across his managerial career and historically doesn't start his stints at clubs well.

This is the man to save Clyde from certain relegation?

We need some experienced football players (preferably ones that can still run about). We’ve already a team full of powderpuff wee boys.

Think there's a difference between picking youngsters from Caledonian Locos and Glasgow Uni compared to a player who has trained full time with a top end championship team for over a year.

I notice he was on the bench for the majority of their run in last season. Must have something about him.

  4. Good statement of facts from the board regarding the EGM.

I'm interested to know the mindset behind why these people don't want Crownpoint. A stadium we would own and prosper from, giving us longevity.

I have heard those wanting to possibly return to shawfield, it is not happening. The land is contaminated due to the well documented chemical waste issue from the nearby burn. I'd estimate the cost of the land and purchase of the stadium would be more than double what Crownpoint would cost talking 4-5 million at least ...that's before even starting to look at the rusty, health and safety nightmare of the stands.

Time for those who called the EGM to take a step back, put self interests aside and focus on the actual good of the club.

For what it's worth I find that the behaviour and language from where this group sit is appalling. I'd argue that they need a speaking to before the board, it's an absolute embarrassment to the club when we're looking to be a community club, vying for the adoration of the younger generation.

Results on the pitch matter, but this current state of affairs is much larger imo.

Dead in the water now anyway.

May  as well change the club’s name to Alexander FC.

That’s the Board protected for many years to come now.

I guess you can discuss with him the next breathy phonecall you give his house.

    You absolute loony.

  6. I do hope that people will look at the EGM request from the weekend and question why nobody that is in this supposed "takeover" wants to be named at this stage. Something's not quite right with that in my eyes.

If they're happy to puppet Clyde fans to get into a position of power, what else could they be capable of?

Timing and nature of this all seems off to me.

  7. Fantastic news that Duffy is away. Hopefully this can be a kickstart to a more positive era for the club with all the investment talk and Crownpoint decision seemingly on the horizon.

I did think that the statement quoting injuries is a bit of a cop out. Duffy and the board had a lot of time to plan sitting in 9th place for potential League Two football and to identify signings. We've ended up signing/retaining players who are already injured to start the season and not having any solid backups in place, right back would be a prime example of this.

I think we'll get horsed tomorrow off Peterhead but hopefully some more communication on the replacement of Duffy will be our positive for the week... IF the board have planned anything...

Words that you would say in front of a mirror. If bullying volunteers behind a keyboard keeps the viagra at bay, then crack on. Says plenty about you...

From speaking with the podcast guys, they find their superfan very flattering, if not a tad stalkerish.

Onto the football. Poor result today. Roberts goal a highlight but still work to be done on the individual errors.

    Anyone got a manager wishlist?

Jeez- hit a wee nerve I think. calm down Paul you are far too sensitive dear boy.

Lie? Not a lie- just saying that there were only 2 (reached 5 at one point) people watching….. was that not the case?

Maybe we should concentrate on the podcast subscriber numbers? 83 I think…..

    woop woop

If you cared about numbers so much, you'd think you would worry about your own 12 followers...

Anyone who thought this season was going to be anything but long and hard was deluded.

The first 3 games of the season gave us unexpected optimism but the last 2 has brought in reality check.

Target for the season was also going to be to finish ahead of 2 others.

As anyone can see, and expect Lennon can see, is problem is at wing back.  Cuddihy and Kennedy would be fine there but unlikely they will both feature in more than 50% of the games this season.  The drop off from them to the other wing backs is vast.

Also need creativity and speed in midfield (though have needed that for years)

Also need someone that is going to get you 20+ goals a season.  We had that then thought that Cunningham with his start might give that but still doubtful he will reach that.

Hopefully 2 or 3 loans are still incoming as dont expect us to sign anyone else.

By all means express your opinion but don't have a go at others for having a positive outlook by calling them "deluded".

We're sitting with 2 wins, a draw and 2 losses. I don't know a Clyde fan who wouldn't have taken that before the season kicked off...

We don't need someone that can score 20 + a season, then we're straight back into praying that player doesn't leave in a window or get injured. I would much rather have the goals spread out in the team, which we're currently doing at the moment. I guess some people just like to cream themselves silly over an individual than team performances, perhaps.

As the guy was being hustled our by the stewards he threw is drink onto the floor which covered the disabled supporter with the contents and if this was hot Bovril it may well have burnt them. His carer or friend was not best pleased to say the least and confronted the asshole.

Disgusting. Surely he will be known if he regularly attends away games? Maybe some one will have a word in the ear before he ends up in serious bother further down the line.

It ended up being your steward that had a word in his ear from the supervisor/on day manager. I watched the whole thing unfold and yes, the Clyde lad shouldn't have been goading the home support but that's what happened when full segregation isn't adhered to by process or stewards. No one can sit in here and say fans of both ends weren't giving it to each other verbally throughout - that's football unfortunately, bit of back and forth.

The Clyde fan was also let back into the stadium after the stewarding supervisor was informed.

For what it's worth, I tried to have a calm chat with the steward involved after it and he seemed to be an absolute w**k. "Have you been on a course? I've been on a course" etc. Threatening to chuck me out for asking why he felt it necessary to put his hands on someone after a couple of seconds of back and forth with a fan.

I empathise with the situation though, we've had terrible stewards at Broadwood in the past.

I am feeling a distinct lack of confidence for the season ahead and as has been mentioned all over the forum this will be the tightest and most competitive league in Scotland. However, I can say with far more confidence is there no chance Clyde are finishing above us. Absolutely none.

I think we'll be better than a lot of people expect this season...thank goodness it's a prediction league!

Interested to see how Euan Deveney does for Airdrie, he was shocking in his spell with us last year.

Heard same and not a rumour down pub, believe player spoke to one of the managemenr team and advised the above...

Personally wish he was still with us but fair play being honest than taking a wage then deciding week(s) later heart not in it like some have done & contractul sruff becomes a nuisance for all comcerned..

Not bothered about Adam livingstone and time we closed the book on that chapter, been apparently ignoring DL over summer and another who may be struggling with the fact he aint playing for a PL team no longer or currently good enough...

Moving swiftly on. Noticed LJ unused sub for Stmirren last sat at Cowden and not in squad for Airdrie game..Worth a wee phone call ?!

Efter All. Still Yer Mithers Pride🇾🇪

We have what look to be very good striking options this year in Cunningham, Duthie, Allan and McDonald.

Would rather spend a loan in the defence.

  14. I'm not sure why losing Rumsby would be a good thing? Apart from giving away a handful of harsh penalties at the beginning of the campaign, he's turned into a dependable option at the back. Probably not on much wage wise either, I would definitely keep even as cover.

Really hoping Cuddihy and Livingstone are announced soon. I find it crazy that Cuddihy has flown under the radar for other teams so often during the summers, he's the first name on the team sheet for me.

  15. Whatever your view on David Goodwillie or the fact he's played with us the last 5 years... we all know the decision to bring him back after the Raith social media furore last month was ridiculous. The understatement of the century.

The club has been led in a terrible direction by incompetent board members and a "supporters" club which only cares about their favourite player.

The only way forward for us is to have a clear remorseful stance on the whole situation and those who made these decisions held accountable with immediate comment and resignations when the correct replacements are found. The termination of Mr Goodwillies contract was inevitable after the councils stance but was relieved to see we finally made a correct decision, albeit a forced one.

The club has been dragged through the mud enough, it's time we got rid of those who put the future of the club at risk and move on from this whole nightmare.

Better hope those relocation working groups have been busy...
