I did say I thought Annbank would give Lesmahagow a game. Anyone any word on how the game went ?

Gow scored probably within 30 seconds of the game kicking off, then I thought Annbank controlled most of the 1st half and were the better team, knocked the ball around well and looked good for the win.

2nd half the Gow stepped up the tempo, chased every ball and just wanted the win more. If it went to ET I think they would have won it, nevertheless pens it was and their keeper made a couple of good saves to win the game.

Good start for Lesmahagow.  Is Graham Gracie upfront making the difference for them?

Oban Saints played Lesmahagow  in Saints first league game of the season. Got beat 9-1. I heard there wasn't much in it in the first half but Saints playing with only 5 first team starters from the year before and possibly with a lack of fitness, match practice etc as they had a few postposed games, meant like Harestanes they got over run in the end.

Oban Saints played Harestanes last week.  Pretty much back to a regular starting 11. Harestanes I though looked very good especially in the first half. They had  more possession with out doing too much with it. Mostly shots from outside the box. Saints played much better in the second half and had the better chances until Harestanes scored with a suspiciously offside looking back post header. I thought Harestanes look a striker away from being a very good team. So a little surprised to see them getting beat 7-1.

Oban Saints played St Pats yesterday. Again Saints were missing a number of players. Looked like about only 5 regulars from last season. Saints went 1 nil up in the 2nd half. Game got abandoned after a collision between St Pats goalkeeper and Saints defender. Ambulance called. I think the Saints player was ok as he was sitting up before it arrived.

Yes mate, I only saw them for the first time yesterday but he was excellent. Really strong and a brilliant left foot.

  3. Watched Lesmahagow beat Harestanes 7-1. Harestanes missed a pen after probably 30 seconds of the game, was quite even until maybe 3-1 then Harestanes fell apart. Number 9 for Lesmahagow is a handful.

Who else is in the running to win that devision .... are Colville still around? Did Goldenhill not join the central this year aswell ?

Not sure. The Gow are absolutely humping the premier so far, beat the Anvil 8-0 and Oban Saints 9-1 (I think).

  5. Watched the new team West Park Utd beat Fallin 1-0 today. Very good team, no disrespect to the other teams in their division but I’d be very surprised if they don’t get promoted this year.

I’m sorry but the biggest worry we have here is for well being of people , the biggest majority of people involved in game are at an age where we see biggest risk with committee’s or executive members and family’s who run teams how can we possibly continue season until we know full exposure to all ?.

This is without even considering players and there families ?

Amateur football/football in general is far from the biggest worry, I'm sure everyone will agree. Still doesn't mean we can't discuss it or keep it in mind.

There talking about scrappin the premier league nevermind the ammy game.

What I said could easily be applied to professional football, look at Leicester for example. If they scrapped this season, who would be in the CL/EL? League coefficients etc - do they just wipe anything that's happened this season? Not sure if there is a solution out there at all.

  8. It's a tricky one, wouldn't be fair for teams to just be handed the league if they are on top at the moment and others have a chance of winning it. Same applies to relegation.

Equally, it's a sore one for the likes of Drumchapel or Tollcross who weren't perhaps fancied to go as far as they have in the Scottish. If we just stopped and voided it, all their hard work would go unrewarded.

I think postponement might be the fairest option, but not sure how that would work going in to next season.

Mate I think you’ll be find fintry weren’t at there best today and are extremely disappointed in how they played. Stone wall penalty denied in the last minute which was the biggest bricker since red rum won the national! Be interesting to see the return game next week in Dundee

Left with a few minutes to go so never saw that. Fancy Fintry to win the replay.

  10. Is there any local Sunday teams of a "lesser" level around the North of Glasgow that I could train/coach with? Played a bit of senior/junior/decent amateur back many years ago, unfit as f**k now and for many years watching senior football home/away. Love the amateur game, done a few coaching badges so hopefully can bring something, just want to get off my arse and enjoy football again, whether it be playing or coaching. If theres any teams that need a hand, give me a shout. Cheers.

It’s a football structure that more or less every country has apart from us because of “tradition”

I understand what it is, but what is the context here? Amateur teams potentially playing against Junior teams? People have said "teams can apply to join the pyramid", wondering how that will look.

Seen there is a lot of ties still to be played from around 4 as well as 5 tomorrow, backlog of games for a lot of sides.

What’s the big games tomorrow to watch out for tomorrow?

Drumchapel Ams vs Uddy Anvil should be a good one, Anvil with a great result last week against Bannockburn after getting pumped 7-2 earlier in the season.

But saying if the referee has mentioned it in his report and the SAFA want to progress it then theyre happy with that. Wonder if they have been tipped the wink that its in the refs report......

That's the way I read it too. Are they withdrawing it in the knowledge that the SAFA will investigate it anyway, time will tell...
