Clubs that haven't said anything via social media regarding players usually do this on 1st of June (Saturday) if not soon after.
Get the yellow ties out

Do you think they’ll publish any details?Probably will on this but if not I think it will be apparent, players will find other clubs soon enough

Does anyone have a note of those that have left the club and where they are ending up?
not just now but I think come Saturday we might know more when contracts terminate

Bully boy negativity?? Reign it in Brawlads. We’re entitled to our own opinion on the matter. Just like you are.
Time me will tell how Gala do and if our ‘bully boy negativity’ is unwarranted.
Be astonished if Gala are successful next season.
See you in the headteachers office for our punishment

Grow up Archie. You and Edinburghbhoy are clearly out to tarnish anything Gala do. Childish and pathetic.
They have announced it on their website and I have seen it also on local press it’s a big club with a lot of young players coming through the Academy that don’t need your constant bully boy negativity and hatred towards the new chairman in particular
All a bit tedious and tiring from you now yawwwwwwwn
Outstanding response, I’ve spoke of my admiration of the club so bully boy is a ridiculous term to throw about. Young players is great if they’re good enough but doubt it’ll keep gala in the league. Hatred it also a ridiculous term, no one in any post has stated a hatred, just complete astonishment at the decision

what's getting ridiculous now is the nothing posts going up on their Facebook and twitter accounts and they haven't even announced the new manager! the ironic thing is if they'd done it when it happened there would have been a short backlash but they are prolonging their own misery here, this will continue until they address it

From who I’ve heard they are trying to sign they could well be in trouble. Players from bottom half EOS clubs.
Aye but they play football on the deck so dinny worry about it ...

Attractive football is all well and good until You realise the players you have can’t achieve that against 95% of the league.
Aye, doesn’t take a genius to figure out that means a severe drop down the table

What a piece of nonsense, a man who’s played at the top level for teams who have the pick of who they want and are full time determining how a side in the 5th tier of Scottish football plays! With the money now in the league and players coming in its time to play smart, can’t wait to see them try and pass round East Kilbride and Kelty

The only reason I see it as being that way is the chairman is waiting to issue a statement, Debi is usually fantastic with keeping everyone up to date. It's got to be coming from higher ups to keep quiet just now.
I really like GFR as a club but sacking Dean and management team after another fantastic season under difficult circumstances, especially with injuries. was a shocker.
I wish the new management team well when they come in but I've lost a bit of respect for the higher ups at Gala. The decent thing to do would at least thank Dean and the boys for all their hard work, Whether the decision was right or wrong, time will tell.
He’s nailed it here, not sure the chairman thought about the clubs excellent reputation before making his decision

Different to Selkirk situation in that the club doesn’t have large debts, so doubt that kind of thing however the team that is assembled will almost certainly struggle in the league
yeah it has been well run up to now so not surprised, hope the loss of committee members doesn't hinder this

I hope for the sake of the League that another Selkirk debacle is not on the horizon.
fingers crossed but it's not looking promising

All of the above are who I have heard are away as well. Pat Scullion as well, who finished the season with the club. So that’s 5 defenders and a goalkeeper all away. Plus the two wide players. From what finished the season I’m not sure if that leaves many more than 5/6 players.
That’s what I have been led to believe as well. The chairman seems happy to let them all go.
believe their other keeper may be away too all be it unrelated to this situation, so no keeper and a squad of about 7 or 8, good luck to the man coming in ...

on top of the two from hibs, have also heard Kieran Wason, Scott Main and Dale Baxter are also on their way ... whats even more concerning is the rumour down this way is that there has been no attempt to persuade them to stay

Nearly a week since the sacking and still next to nothing, minus a brief statement on the website, from the club. Hopefully an announcement soon.
I assume they'll need to announce the player departures as well, as they had tweeted/facebooked with the news of them all signing new deals. I have heard their whole back 4 are all away.
worrying times being a Gala supporter, the image of a well run club with morals and loyalty is rapidly dwindling, and as someone has previously stated, their excellent flow of communication on social media has disappeared overnight

Another newspaper article and the club spinelessly not putting anything on social media, if the reports true an amateur coach coming in too, the gambles keep getting bigger, this really could spell trouble for Gala

To be honest I don't care where a player comes from as long as the team is winning, and if they're playing good football along the way then that's a bonus.
exactly, most fans think this way which makes the news more unbelievable

I'm only listing players that I know. Players that didn't get a game when Dean was here may now get a game due to the 'Border Players' ethos now being used. I agree that it's unlikely that Sonkur would drop down, but stranger things have happened.
every manager has their own opinions etc but if people were unhappy with the football under the old management, do they want to see player playing who were deemed not good enough purely because of where they stay?

Local players playing for the club is definitely a good idea but in practice I’m not sure that the best local players are good enough to survive in the LL. We signed two of the better local based boys in Phil Addison and Tommy Paterson but beyond that I’m not sure what there really is. Previous posters have hit the nail on the head with regards to the local amateur leagues, with most of the better players there probably not wanting to step up to LL
100% and with all due respect, Football is a second sport in this area of the country, for Lowland League survival you need to branch out

And by ‘purists’ you mean JC?No one specifically as I believe there are a few but anyone who believe gala can cope playing that brand of football is deluded

As you say it's football and it happens.
However, what was being discussed at the weekend was at this level the sacrifices made by all are huge and for individuals/ players to be treated the way they have is what is baffling.
You speak about the great work that Gala do in the community which I have no doubt about. But for 3 key members of your board to resign who have been there for years says the new chairman is having huge disregard for the clubs process and procedures.
The decision is made and you guys have to move on but the utter nonsense that was being talked about and how the chairman has been meeting players for the upcoming season, made the decision weeks ago without any board members knowing, disputing potential new signings due to them having disagreements with the new Chairman and letting good footballers leave the club due to where they are situated.
A club like Gala Fairydean Rovers has never acted like this in all the time I've known whether that be EOSL or the Lowland.
Folk can voice their opinions but from what everyone who was or is involved is saying on both side of the fence. Is a Chairman who didn't want the job is now signing players, and being a puppet for those above.
Yes of course it's never nice for someone to lose their jobs but I can't help that the young lad Hastings who is a good coach is being setup to be a mighty scapecoat if this backfires.
100% the league is so competitive now that the vision of local lads playing and playing football "the right way" is now a luxury, in order to maintain league status you need to be pragmatic. It seems like the chairman has pandered to the purists at the detriment to success

Absolutely agree Gogsy. The club have came through a lot more than what they encountering just now. The club will remain and be a competitive club in the league for which I have no doubt. Seems highly likely some of the comments are as you suggested. Rightly or wrongly the decision was made however that is football and much bigger teams have relieved managers of their duties and gone on to better things. Only really a couple of keyboard warriors attempting to discredit the club and the committee which is a shame as it is clear the committee do a lot for the town as a community hub.
Move on....
So do you agree with the decision to relieve the management team of their duties? As I have said before there are/where good people involved at Gala who undoubtedly do a lot for the community but this decision is laughable. I think it speaks volumes that local people like myself, and I can only speak for myself, who have joined P&B to voice their concerns only emphasises the nature of the decision

Tbh the new chairman has been moaning about ‘the style of play’ for a long while even before he took charge and it seems like he’s been planning this.
Out of order, he should be ashamed. I’ve said it already but he could be remembered as the chairman who brought it all crashing down

Speaks volumes that board members have resigned over the issue

I’m sure any over spending was more than recouped by the cup and the mckirdy, surely if he’s overspending the club just say no instead of letting him carry on?
