you'd think having a stand named after our most famous centre half who wore the no.4 would be enough eh -

They've already been assigned squad numbers and are listed on the website (and different to what they were wearing in the Betfred so far) They've just given whoever's starting 1 to 11 -

good to hear the boys ok, watching it back it looks like a really sore one with a shin to the face and not nice seeing him go limp and face down after -
good to hear he's doing ok if a bit battered and bruised, I don't think anything was getting in the way of Nizzy's first hatrick... we'll be backing you for an upset again the Paisley lot since they struggled to get past City last night

Kevin Harper interview: -
oh and fair play to your young keeper that came on, worst possible game for him to come into and under the circumstances but after an understandably nervous start the boy did well and made a cracking save
-
just thought i'd check in as well, missed the coming together as i was more focused on the goal but wasn't nice to see but glad he was ok enough to acknowledge the fans hopefully the boy is ok and makes a speedy recovery

He'll get found out against a well organised or competent opposition midfield but he fits the role we need him for, keepkng things simple, following the play supporting the young boys and offering an outlet, did a god job at organising everyone around him and a voice in midfield, if hes put under pressure he does seem to get flustered and gets the ball caught up in his feet But he did play some great passes and through balls including a perfectly weighted long ball for nisbets 3rd Paton the messiah -

Turner is one of the most exciting young players we've had in a while, quick thinking and always looking to attack Was really impressed with Nisbet both on and off the ball, his first touch is always looking to beat a man and he thinks ahead, link up play had been surprisingly great the last 2 games Paton certainly isn't Zidane and the Falkirk lot saying he has to turn and can only kick fully facing the ball is hilariously accurate! But he did a good job organising and I think he'll be key to our young squad and can see why they brought him in now Martin had a great game and Comrie has some pace on him! Dow's passing and crossing was impressive at times and good to see we can get a good ball in the box again -

For his ability i'd welcome him back in a second, but controversially i'd say the same for Clark. We did miss both of them when they left oh and that Stranraer article is just embarrassing, obviously it's only one side of the story but either way it was petty and arrogant of our management at the time to say the least! -

He played well the first 1/4, went missing in the middle and was bang average bar a couple of world cup goals and then played the best football of his time with us the last 5 games.......then left -

On his day Aird would terrorise any team in this league, he has Pogba syndrome though and only seems to do that when he wants to (ie. playing for a new contract) not the type of attitude and mentality for what we are trying to achieve IMO, not worth upsetting the balance for 1 player -
Paton undoubtedly has skill but he's also reluctant to cover much ground which is also in decline, first year he was with us he was one of my favourite players due to his creativeness but he just didn't look interested or willing to put in the graft and tailed off badly I think his days as a wide player fitness wise are behind him (at this level) and AJ trying to play him at CM the last while with us was a move i backed, but he lacks dig in the middle of the park and as mentioned he will ALWAYS pull out of a 50/50. Put someone next to him at CM that will run their socks off and do the dirty work and he might do ok though You're just lucky ICT have snapped up Vincent before AJ did!!

Lang will still be fairly new in SC's mind compared to a known quantity of Morrison so I'd expect Lang to get a game against lesser opposition like on wednesday so he can see him with less pressure and then make a decision from there going forward Great seeing them having faith in the homegrown youth and giving them a fair crack at it, needs to be more of that at our level -
we've got a habit of walking the group stage with ease then our arse collapsing in the next round so I wouldn't count on it more excited about this game given we actually scored more than once yesterday which is an improvement on last season already, which probably means it'll be 0-0...

Yeh i wouldn't be surprised to see that either if yesterdays game is anything to go off, fast start and grab a goal or 2 then weather the storm in the 2nd half. Got to admit though, defending a lead and sitting back with potentially just 1 up front gives me the fear and will mean a few tense matches this season. If it gets the results then we can't complain but i always like trying to take the game to them and keeping them on the back foot rather than letting them dictate the play (especially with a young inexperienced team) -

Dow was MOTM for me by a mile, first time i've seen him play and was impressed at the confidence of the boy who's obviously taken the step back up in his stride, Coley looks raw but talented and exciting Ryan looks sharp and back to his best popping up all over the pitch and being a general nuisance to defenders We definitely tired in the 2nd half with Paton and Beadling sitting off rather than the high pressing tactics of the first half, potentially need another holding midfielder to replace Paton as surely we can't expect him to play in a high press midfield for 90min week in week out? Or he needs to sit in a bit more and conserve energy (was surprised to see a few 40 yard 'sprints' from him yesterday! -

fingers crossed they both take their time to learn their trade and step up at the right time rather than doing what PJ Crossan did, you can't blame the boy at all but it's typical of the old firm setting back young players careers like that -

not so much 'crazy' as the other predictions thread but lets see how bad i can get it when looking back towards the end of the season Andy Ryan to be our top scorer (followed closely by Coley) Lewis Martin replaced at LB (i want this to be wrong as i like the boy but it's just his luck) Paton to be a revelation and get the pars badge tattoo'd over his heart (i'd take him not being shite tbh) McCann breaks into first team and ends season starting games Craw and Shields to still manage to look like drunk hobos in every photo Beadling/Murray to end season as captain after Ashy loses his place after a sending off (replaced by Lang) -

just checked your website and it has you down as having a 1st team squad of 25 (clearly some youth players in there but so do most teams tbh) -
Championship Squad Lists 19/20
80sPar replied to Ludo*1's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Was just curious (and slightly bored) to see how total first team squad numbers was looking so just going by whats on this thread this is how it stands: Would be interesting to see how the average ages of each team lines up as well, i think quite a few will have a lot of youth in the squads this season while trying to cut the cloth Alloa - (15) Arbroath - 17 (18) Ayr - 18 (23) Dundee - 15 (21) Dundee United - 24 (20) Dunfermline - 20 (22) Greenock Morton - 17 (17) ICT - (25) Partick Thistle - 17 (16) Queen of the South - 16 (16) ** (x) is what is shown on each teams website** -
Agree with the above and AJ is pretty stubborn and waits it out rather than changing things as the game progresses and sets up with the same tactics no matter who you are playing and what formation they play But he did start us off last season playing 3-5-2 but it never worked and we just looked unorganised (no idea if it was tactics or players), you never know he might try again and get it working with you
