    Clubs that I loathe

    Rainjurs & Sellik (obviously)

    Airdrie ( fascist wanks)

    Livingston (very,very dodgy)

Clubs that I dislike because of genuine sporting rivalry

    Dunfermline

No thoughts either way on any other club including any of the local wee teams.

Would largely agree with this. I'd probably add Hibs to this list. Went right off them when Stubbs was in charge of them and kept bad mouthing us in that title race. Maybe any team managed by Hartley too.

I remember those gopros, just as I remember the camera operator at the top of the KM stand. I'm pretty sure the camera position on a raised plinth surrounded by a small scaffold is still there as at the back centre of the KM7 stand.

I'm sure they could improve the quality by buying more cameras / gopros, but right now while we're in the third tier I'd guess there other demands on the budget which are deemed more important. Club staff do read this messageboard so at some point that might be taken on board. I'll raise the replay one for you.

Re the Edinburgh highlights, I have no idea how they do it. They even had a remote camera monitoring their own dugout on Saturday. I'm guessing they may have a tieup with a university media department as it was more professional than I'd have expected from a club who brought 37 fans to TFS. We certainly don't have the kit for that.

There are always ways to improve. Sadly most of them cost money and the club isn't exactly rich at the moment.

On that subject, I'm going to push my luck and raise something here. I spend my Sundays with our womens team. They're amateurs and have to fundraise to get money for things like pitch hire, travel, pay referees, etc, etc. The coaches are trying to make them more professional and did well recently to find the cash to get all our players equipped with GPS vests.

The next "wish list" item is one of these.

    Veo Sports Camera

If there are any Falkirk fans who run a business and have spare cash in their sponsorship budget, I'm sure our coaches would love to hear from you. Feel free to message me on here or speak to me in person at a game.

How much are they? Might be something the equity bairns would want to sponsor, or potentially we could setup a crowd funder for them here.

The camera used to be operated by one of the media officers. He still does it occasionally if the volunteer who was recruited in the summer isn't available on a given matchday.

The thing about the camera being controlled remotely is how Alloa do it as those comments came from their media guy posting on our thread.

(apologies as I'm not replying to the right person as I think that came from someone else).

Don't know anything about replays but I'll mention it next time I'm in.

I don't think there has been a camera or operator behind the goals for a number of years now, though I'm willing to be corrected on that.

Thanks BB. I was certain they had a go pro or something similar recording from behind the net at one point. I must stress I still pay for the service regardless of the replays. If they could add goal replays that would really solve my main gripe. The behind the goals camera would also be good but it's not exactly essentially.

I've no idea of any proposals or any of that and truly am not really interested - I would trust the current board to make the right choice and think hiring a company who does queens, airdrie, dunfermline, ICT and few more that I can't remember is a pretty reasonable, tried and tested thing to do. My main comments were regarding this quite constant narrative on downgrade in quality which having watched around 70% of the games on FTV this season and probably more than that last season and those before I just don't really see other than the replays. So to me it really does just seem strange and a way to pit the old team against the new team. Considering these are both two dedicated volunteer teams it just irks me that this seems to be the case. Maybe I just have good WiFi I don't know but the camera quality has been the same for me and I really am sure someone has said the camera is the same although I am now doubting if I am misremembering about the operator.

At no point am I trying to pit the old regime against the new? I just said the new guys have a lot to learn, I'm sure/hope they will. The original comment was about cameras behind the goals which the old guys used to have, I also said they occasionally had a second camera in the KM7 stand. AND the big thing for me was the goal replays, clearly you don't like goal replays but for someone who has a 7 and 9 Yr old the replays are/were really helpful. 👌

I also subscribe despite having a season ticket because I live far away so often don't get to many games. The only thing I could agree with is the replays, but honestly don't know what the fuss is about regarding that. If you're at the game you don't get replays and have to wait for the highlights. I have had no issues with reliability other than the games in the first few weeks that were not broadcast at all. Maybe you should take a look at your own WiFi coverage if you're having issues. Likewise with the angles, you've just ignored entirely what I said. It's impossible that the camera angles are worse because it's THE SAME PERSON and SAME CAMERA which has been said a couple of times here and possibly the COYB page if I remember correctly. So it's nothing to do with new FTV being worse or in relation to the pay as you are hinting at. Also Aidan nesbitt was literally on as a prematch talk and as a commentator the other week.

I'd be Interested to hear from Lewis on it being the same person and the same camera. My understanding is they put a proposal forward to continue and the club chose the new crew instead. Not looking to start a disagreement just staying my opinion is I preferred the old setup. My issue with the replays is that I've always been used to Falkirk tv having replays and now they don't, so I get your point but i see it as a downgrade on what was on offer. I'm also sure one of the guys said the camera was now controlled by an xbox controller from a few rows down?

I'm sure it's been said a few times here that the cameras and camera operators are the same as has always been. The change has been in the software and in commentators?

I subscribe to the new Falkirk tv and the only positive I have about it is the new guy on commentary duties. I don't want to be overly critical because I appreciate we're currently in a Diddy league and they probably don't want to spend too much on it, but it certainly feels like the old Falkirk TV was more reliable, better angles, better replays and also occasionally they had some pre match stuff going on.

As said, and confirmed that’s he’s accepted a role with saints, he should be relieved from his contract as quickly as possible. Once you accept a role/position outwith your employer, for me he should be released without fail.

Have to disagree with this. He's coaching kids and from two leagues above us. Guys 35 and planning for his future. I'm sure he's eager to get back and have a proper send off by helping us to win this league. One of the good guys imo.

It's absolutely mental that the past few years we've seen various clowns in charge and folk defending how dreadful we've been and yet lo and behold we get an actual manager in, give him a summer to build a squad and here we are.

Fair comment. His recruitment this summer alone deserves alot of credit. Still worries me a little he doesn't seem to have a plan b and he's so reluctant to play two strikers.. But who am I to comment when his team are producing the goods. COYB

If Hogarth doesn't force his way into the starting line up he'll probably want away but if not I'd be trying to keep him. I'd also be trying to extend Donaldson, Henderson, Yeats and Lawal.

Will most likely be Morrison's last season, been talk of him leaving near enough every transfer window I doubt we'll keep a hold of him when he's free to go in the summer. Likewise I'd love to see Mccann stay but given Gary Holt negotiated his 3 year deal he could be on a fair whack so McGlynn may fancy using that money elsewhere.

I wouldn't be trying to extend Mackie, McGinn or Oliver as the first two have been rooked with injuries and there's better quality out there than Oliver. As already mentioned thank f**k it'll be the last of Brad Mckay.

I can see Morrison staying. Especially if we get promoted. I think he likes it here and although I understand the criticism he gets for rarely showing up in big games, I still think he's a great asset when he's firing. Can't see too many 'bigger' clubs being interested in him, but if we don't get up he will likely want to test himself at a higher level... Unless we offer better money again.

I like Hogarth too. I think his distribution is pretty good. Unfortunately Long took his chance earlier in the season when Hogarth was injured and he's kept performing at a level where JM just can't drop him. JM tends to stick with guys who he can trust and are performing, and I like that. I do think Hogarth will work his way into the team soon enough.

Especially important given the club have highlighted the fact they need to start working on current players contract situations. Fair few out of contract next summer that I would hope we can keep.

    Goalkeeper
    1. Sam Long - Still contracted to Lincoln to 2025
    31. Nicky Hogarth - June 2024
    27. Owen Hayward (A)

    Defender
    2. Tom Lang - June 2025
    6. Coll Donaldson - June 2024
    26. Sean Mackie - June 2024
    22. Brad Mckay - June 2024(thank f**k)
    3. Leon Mccann - June 2024
    20. Layton Bisland - Out of contract with Dundee United
    33. Logan Sinclair (A)

    Midfielder
    8. Brad Spencer - June 2025
    5. Liam Henderson - June 2024
    4. Stephen McGinn - June 2024
    14. Finn Yeats - June 2024
    21. Ola Lawal - June 2024
    10. Aidan Nesbitt - June 2025
    18. Gary Oliver - June 2024
    7. Callumn Morrison - June 2024
    29. Calvin Miller - June 2025
    11. Alfredo Agyeman - June 2025
    23. Ethan Ross - Out of contract with Raith
    30. Scott Honeyman (A)
    32. Rhys Walker (A)

    Striker
    9. Jordan Allan - June 2025
    17. Ross MacIver - June 2025

Fairly certain Mcginn is on a decent wage and won't be re-signed for another year. Oliver and McKay will be away too hopefully.

I wonder what JM will do about McCann and Mackie. Not sure JM fully rates McCann, but Mackie Is constantly injured. I'd hope to keep Leon. Not too fussed about Mackie.

Sorry I don't. I assume it was after one of their goals?

When we score, I shoot everything that I can as the more pictures I can get of happy Falkirk players the better.

When the opposition score, I keep my finger on the trigger for a couple of seconds only. I usually keep one opposition pic from a "recording history" perspective but once I have it I don't want any more.

Ah.. Gutted!! It was just after they scored the opener. He was around the centre circle area and started bouncing about facing the KM7 stand cupping his ears. Normally it wouldn't bother me, but he never showed that much energy or passion for us when he was stealing a wage!

Fortress Brockville event was booked for The Beancross originally. We were told that the club try to move events around club sponsors (they used Beancross for the pre semi final event) so this was the original plan but were contacted by Beancross due to their current situation. Inchyra, as another sponsor, was then booked.

As Shodwell Cat says though, otherwise their are no real alternatives to getting 300/350 people in a room for dinner. Grange Manor doesn’t hold that & may not even be a club sponsor.

I understand. Wasn't a criticism the venue is just up the hill for me. I was just keen to understand why the club continue to use the Inchyra (and wondered if we were obliged to use them due to sponsorship reasons, which seems logical)

Recently attended a wedding there back in July and I was almost £20 for a pint and large wine. Think the pint was almost £8.

Would have preferred a cheaper venue that allowed more of my beer funds divert to fundraising.

    Appreciate the capacity concerns though.

Heard Rawlins want to buy Huddersfield and use Falkirk as a breeding ground for new talent

PS- That is a lot of pish i just invented - Or is it?

Interestingly Huddersfield were taken over by an American consortium in June and Phil Rawlins is allegedly part of that consortium.

Very much doubt Falkirk will have anything to do with feeding them anything.

More than likely the Rawlins will simply just exist in the background for a while biding their time. Unsure what their endgame is, but staying out of the way is the current game plan.

    Interesting subject!

it depends on when and where the data was taken from.  If we are talking about players from before the 70's when sodden balls were like a concrete sphere, then I could understand. Today's balls are so much lighter, but travel at much more pace. We need someone with a physics PhD on here to explain the concept / effect of mass and velocity  compared to then and now.

I think the more technically gifted countries tend to head the ball less as well, so that data may not be relevant to them

Any blow to the head can lead to serious issues.

With respect to the game changing, it would be more akin to a larger 5-a-side match. It would be a completely different sport.

Good points. Stats must be based on players from at least 20-30 years ago (probably more, alot more).

That being said, dementia is a horrible disease and it's good to see the debate being brought forward. Anything that can be done to reduce that risk should be considered.

Football without heading just doesn't sound right. Hopefully people much smarter than us will come up with better ideas to reduce the risk, or find a cure.
