  1. I take it you've watched the highlights back? There is no way there's anything that can be remotely described as a ruck of players between Doohan and their number 4 on either occasion. The boy has the freedom of Hawkhill Bowling Club to header towards goal. In fact when you watch back the replay of both their goals they're both from no more than 4 or 5 yards out. I've already accepted that Roscoe was clearly at fault but in my opinion, Doohan at 6'3 or whatever he is, could've and again, in my opinion, should've, got a claim or a good punch on one, or probably, both.
  2. From the clips online, he looks far too good for the Championship. Has his agents editing skills been worth it?
  3. Could any Jambos give any updates on the progress of Daniel Baur? Saw that he'd had made his 1st team debut, then had a loan spell with Albion Rovers and nothing since. Thought he was quite highly regarded within the club at one point. Released, injured, general thoughts on him as a player?
  4. If the ball travels that far from a corner and lands within the 6 yard box, not once but twice, it's not unreasonable to expect your keeper to come for it. That's all I'm saying. Yes the defending on both was poor, undoubtedly, but a strong, commanding and decisive decision might have got one or both away.
  5. The headliners have gone but the nucleus remains, a year older or not, you can dress that up whatever way you want. It might not be the headline grabbing swashbucklers from last season but there's more than one way to be an efficient, effective and functioning team in the Scottish leagues. Some of the play in the 1st half, from the highlights granted, looked fine. Mid table, I tell you.
  6. I'd even lay some blame for both Stranraer goals at Doohan's door, both corners very similar, to the back post and within the 6 yard box, the ball's travelled so far the keeper surely has to claim that or punch it clear. Very indecisive for me. Reading the posts on here post match are something else though, we're relegated already, we're doomed. Come on now, there'll in all likelihood, be a drop off from last season, and the truths somewhere in the middle. Trust in the club, trust in Mccall and the nucleus of last season's team. Mid table will do us nicely. I agree budgeting for cup runs, if that has happened, is unwise. It used to always be in days gone past, that these were seen as a bit of a bonus. I would still be hopeful of one player being added before the window shuts as well.
  7. The best midfield in the Division just made it look that way....
  8. I hope you're right and if you are, we must have the best keeper (certainly up there surely) as well and Thistle fans still rating Doolan the league's but sown up surely. Some decent prices available at the bookies...
  9. "The best pool of midfielders in the championship" Based on one win against a Lowland League side and what else exactly?
  10. It's been like that for years. Our best players will always leave and our challenge is replacing them with other teams rejects or prospects. Until we're getting considerably more than 1500 - 2000 as a home support, what do people actually expect? Mid table respectability surely beckons this season, there's clearly going to be a big drop off from last season. What we have in or favour is a knowledge of the league, that we're still fulltime and a year of consolidation will hurt nobody. We need to become an established Championship team with the stability that provides before anything else. Anything else in the short term, like a playoff appearance, is a huge bonus.
  11. Add to that list: Portsmouth, Northampton, Reading, Sheffield United and Chesterfield as teams who have also visited Somerset. Remember the Arsenal game well as old Davie Harkness binned me before that game as a ballboy. Broke my heart, though I was in my twenties then to be fair to him.
