  1. Let’s be honest players that don’t making training/games for bbq or mud aren’t worth bothering about. I’ve never really felt that strongly either way until recently where we had 4 games in a row that were completely ruined by the weather ie Gale force wind, rain and Hail. We played Wishaw in QF of the Scottish and the goalies had more touches than the centre midfielders. So I’d definitely be up for change once we come out of this serious situation.

  2. Would the league not consider following the Caley in going to a single First Division. Their 1st Div is a cracker this season with few teams fighting for promotion. Avoids the argument about 1a better than 1b etc

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it. I’d like to see us go down same route as the Cale but I don’t think we will which is a shame.
  3. Caley league is a very well run association and has some excellent Clubs in it. Clubs with great history in the ammie game.
The Central league sets the bar though.
St Joes would be a great addition to any league.

Well said couldn’t agree more. Lots to like about Cale league seem like good committee like their structure and Gilchrist and Holms to of best refs in business. But every game in the central premier is tough and imo central premier has better players across the division. Fitbaw is about players.
  4. Chic Clarke. Back 3 was Coleman Beattie Taggart
    Hynes Kelly Weir Hadden Young
    McElroy. Finnegan

    Subs McGuiness Ballentyne Gilmartin Henderson

Thought Craig Young from Harestanes was excellent [emoji106]

  5. I don't think that is particularly fair comment.
I'll use my sons experience as an example here. He started playing football, as most do, at the age of 5 or 6 years old. He joined a club and played for that team in his age group for 15 years. When they were too old for the Under 21's leagues they approached their club committee to see what their options were and they were told that the lads would be given a trial to see if they were good enough to play for the established amateur team within the club. Faced with the possibility of the team being broken up they decided to set up a "pals" team instead and are now in their third season.
Now I get that this may undermine the strength of the established amateur team that was already in existence but I can also completely understand why these lads wanted to stick together and to test their ability in the amateur leagues.
Perhaps there could and should be more scrutiny over a "pals" teams ability to complete a season but to ban them from competing is just counter productive. Surely we want to keep as many players playing for as long as possible.

Isn’t that how all amateur teams are founded? Certainly why my club started.
