He’d not be the first to have issues with receiving their emails this year.

This seems to be happening quite a lot now with the odd individual not receiving SSC communications and learning about them on this and other forums.

I failed to get the notification regarding the change of venue for the Cyprus game last year yet do receive regular messages from them.

When I queried this I was assured it had been sent so lost in cyberspace somewhere I guess.

I really think the score line flattered the Dutch. I felt, we had the better of the game, with finishing being our issue.

A lot of ifs and buts, but we take one of those chances, totally changes the game and atmosphere.

This is true but equally it might have ended 0-6 as the Dutch really went for it and almost added another two in stoppage which everyone seems to have overlooked. They clearly sensed our vulnerability at that stage.

Not sure anyone would be looking for positives had it finished six.

I saw a guy with it on yesterday.  It looked like he was pure "Look at me, I have the new Scotland top on" as he walked down the road.

Remember I was in London at a match and unexpectedly found the 96 top on sale in a sports shop when it was not available back home for a few days - and cheaper too.

Bought it and was home that night. Thought about going down the pub on the Sunday afternoon to `show it off` then realised that would be the actions of the type of person I - let's say - would prefer not to be.

Chose to wear a non football shirt for my afternoon pint.

All these years later I`m still a little proud I didn't go for the attention.

You would hope the system would have a way to officially transfer the tickets to someone and forfeit your SSC point, but I feel like they'll f**k that up and just have either empty seats or needing folk to lend login details etc.

Yes I would phone the SFA and explain the situation telling them you don't deserve or want the point due to a change in circumstances, but don't want to waste the ticket.

They might send you a PDF you can forward to your pals son.

    Must be worth a try!

Current home and change shirts are on sale in JD Sport. £30 adults, £20 juniors.

Had plenty of both in loads of sizes in Argyle St Glasgow this afternoon.

If they've that many left to offload I would hold fire.

    Likely be £20 next week.

  6. Stayed in Utrecht when we played there back in 94 - also a Friday night game.

Had four nights there and it had everything you needed.

90% of the Scots fans spent their time in Amsterdam and came down for the game but I had no regrets.  Mind you it was last century!

Wouldn't have minded if the forthcoming match was scheduled for there - or elsewhere outside of the Dam.

I don't understand the logic which says it's okay to to use this measure of loyalty to decide who gets tickets, but not to decide who doesn't have to pay ridiculous prices for those tickets. It's just an extension of the same thinking. It makes no difference to me as I won't get tickets anyway, but I can see why some fans don't agree with how they are being sold.

Well you could actually make a case for saying that those who attend every match are arguably better off than those who pick and choose.

Therefore the high pointers would be generally in a better position to afford the more expensive tickets.

Hamish Husband is the exact person I picture when folk are talking about these 30 point feathered goons earlier in the thread. The sort of guy who could barely tell you who half our team play for and yet paint themselves as the face of our national team.

I agree with much of this - and I'm someone on twenty odd points.

There are a lot of egos in the tartan army who can tell you EXACTLY how many away matches they have attended like it's going to impress anyone.

I will add that Hamish however is a decent lad and I don't recall him ever being a boaster.

Too many people who run these fan groups have overinflated opinions of their importance.
At the end of the day it's just a bunch of football supporters.

  9. 20,699 at Hampden for the San Marino game on a cold Sunday night in October 2019.

How many would have been there if it had been on BBC Scotland live?

Not sure it's as great an idea as it seems - I was at the game but in a similar future  situation I might very well think twice about going and consider watching at home.

Sure, crowds have picked up since lockdown due to results but that could easily change again.

and , IIRC , we only drew with Portugal a

That was the funny thing about how that campaign started.

We won the opener in Stockholm, drew 0-0 with Portugal at Hampden then won in Tel Aviv and drew with Northern Ireland in Glasgow.

So two narrow 1-0 away wins and two drawn at home, At the time it seemed we weren't capitalising on the home fixtures.

So was it 2 qualifying in those days? Obviously NI qualified so surprising Portugal were third.

    Yes mate two qualified automatically.

We went through ta 0-0 in Belfast in October '81 and the N Ireland fans thought they were out because they didn't beat us (Alan Rough had a  fine game). But the Portugal V Sweden game kicked off later and it went in their favour,

Was the ticket sale this morning  only for ssc members?

I clicked the link at 9:50 and the message said I was in a queue and there was at least an hour waiting time and not to open my browser.

It was open to the general public hence the queues.

Quite right too - I've always said you should not have to belong to a club to attend a home game.

Managed to get one for a friend although I did log into my SSC account though guess this didn't give me any priority as had to wait and sweat best part of half an hour.

Reckon he is due me a pint!

I bought tickets for the France end, next to the away section. Had to use VPN to get them as initially said not available to me when not using VPN. Had no issue with a Scottish address/U.K. credit card

Right in the middle of the local hooligans then🙂

  14. Fair play to the sfa over this I should be fine for a ticket now.

Don't like to grumble but the only gripe I have was the header on the email about tickets for the womens matches - which we have already been advised of.

Surely the good news about the Larnaca tickets is of more interest to members?
But like I say just a minor thing and full plaudits to the ssc staff for fighting our corner and securing this allocation!

The points for home games is one of those things that lots of folk were calling for who felt they were missing out on away tickets but weren't willing to just go to some meaningless friendly. Like you I think it has made it harder to get on the ladder - now you pretty much have make sure you've been to the full last 10 home games. The only winners are the SFA who will undoubtedly be selling a lot more home tickets now even if they aren't always used.

There is no question that tickets for some home games are bought, point acquired and ticket passed on wise in the knowledge there are no checks. People are always calling for 100% pick up overseas but two home games = one away in terms of points and that loophole is easily exploited.
