Watch the latest interview with Greig.
Well I hope so but wouldn't be surprised if its an experienced lowland league player.

Looks like an experienced Centre Back is to be announced tomorrow.
The one positive from last night is that we know that the experienced players can play better.
Sean Docherty, the right back was the pick of the loanees, but whether there is a place available in that position is debatable. The young centre half was just not good enough.
Personally I think that the club has shown too much loyalty to certain players who have served the club well over the years but are now only bit players.
I doubt it. Looks as though it's Page and Robinson unless we can find a loanee. We also have a young left sided centre half "Mikey" on trial who looks okay but raw.

Apparently DU won 3-2.Match held at St Andrews Uni.Fash and Cunningham for EF.
Yes it was 3-2.
No.22 Trialist is CB Alfie Robinson ex Albion and Cowden. A couple of the younger guys look decent enough and forward Mikey Cunningham looks to be more involved. Ross Philp looks okay but I can't see him giving us what Aaron Steele did.
We've signed a great player in Fash but we haven't yet replaced the guys we've lost, not with the same quality anyway.
Still very early days and hopefully sign another couple of bodies.

Are we playing Dundee Utd tomorrow? If so, what are the prices and kick off time?

I think the no. 23 redhead winger was Gregor nicol that played for gala fairydean last year
He looked good. Wouldn't mind him and Healy on each side.
No.22 CB also looked decent. Maybe not the most physical for his size but looked very good in possession. Early days though.

I watched the team train for 20 minutes yesterday and there were atleast 8 players I didn't recognise.

Yeah, Murdo is great but is usually injured at least twice during the season.
He's not really physical enough and often over plays. Good player but we need defenders to get him into a midfield or full back position.

Eh?
We're talking about East Fife covering his wages because he was injured on the job. The same would apply with higher earning players and clubs can't afford to.

Understandable but unrealistic. Would Peterhead have paid Rory McAlisters wages a few years ago? Sure he was on 500 a week? Would have sent Peterhead into oblivion.

Paul McManus surely

Feels like years ago we changed to 4g and starting letting the community book for use. I couldn't imagine it otherwise now and is such a massive part of the community. Its almost a sports hub for hundreds/thousands of users now.
This whole groundsharing idea would work if this was the case with Dumbarton. Surely the pitch has to be changed? It costs alot but probably pays for itself in 3 years?

We have actually paid a fee for a player. Welcome home Fash let goals be in full flow
Not since we signed Ryan Wallace for 7k?

Played right back for us recently but wouldn't fancy him their against better opposition. More suited to right side centre back, very right footed.
He's strong and brave but lacks pace and still learning, prone to a gaff occasionally.
Certainly doesn't lack pace. Hes meant to be our fastest player

Think he’s signed
He has some good physical attributes hence why he's went to the Championship. It will be the start of another development curve for him, he only started looking good second half of the season for us. All the best to him.

Interesting to see what Greig cough* Toro does with this team in summer and what players sign or he attracts to the club.
I would keep.
Fleming - has one more season at his age
Steele - solid defender
Denham - best signing this season along with Fleming.
Newton - has been strong every season
walls - top player like newton, Steele and Healy I feel he can be our future captain if we keep hold of those players and walls.
Healy - probably our best player if you take the loan signings away but needs be consistent.
Shepherd - definitely our only striker
Shiavone - keep another season
Not Fussed
millar - has been disappointing this season and his motivation has dipped from season relegated so wouldn’t be too fussed if he stayed or left.
mcmanus - he came back into side but I still don’t see the fuss or what he brings other than run about looking like jedward no offence.
omar - he has only featured 1/2 even though he’s been injured most I maybe hash but he’s I’m not fussed.
beveridge - if he’s only back up keeper we can afford them I’ll have him one more season so he belongs in this category but with Fleming at 39 years of age and a guy not really played much than play for Oakley etc I rather see someone takeover Fleming in future with bit more experience to challenge Fleming. Happily take Jamieson if kelty don’t want him either and is onloan at Airdrie for example.
murdoch - his age isn’t getting any younger tbf so therefore falls into this category.
page - one of strangest signings and has done well but again not fussed if he stays or moves on.
release
mackenzie Williamson - youth players are roll of dice sometimes they good and some that will fade probably hasn’t made the cut and I won’t be surprise considering he’s the oldest of the u20 team.
cunningham - he looked to have found his level onloan there, has struggled at outlet level and found nowhere near the first team.
slattery - people banging on he’s due testimonial etc etc but if he’s not getting near first team it’s time to move on.
mansouri - isn’t going be near the first team
williamson - his time is up, signed a year since his trial last July.
trouten - I feel we’re a better team without him, I dunno what he does rather his penalties and his experience minus he will be a lot older next season and slower.
loans
Young - he’ll probably go back out onloan to another side but we didn’t see enough playing time or add anything apart from one goal against a poor Stranraer side that was well beaten under hamill on their day.
ferguson - he was my favourite player and deserve the awards he received, disappointed he signed a contract at st Johnstone I would have him sign up asap or back onloan again. Fantastic player.
Steven - like young he struggled at times but gave everything for the cause. would definitely sign him or give another season.
denholm - young player help us out in numbers but would like see more of Aidan.
Quinn - he looks the part I would sign him up asap if Montrose don’t want him and pre season he will be back to player we had before his injuries tbf.
but it’ll be interesting to see what we do now the play offs are over.
McManus is probably our best player? An absolute baller in midfield. Yes he lacks pace but his composure, technique, awareness etc all there to see. Easily a good League 1 player.
I agree with most other points but we still need a left back especially if Pat and Murdoch leave. Newton has really grown this season but may still struggle against an experienced winger.

I would keep Murdoch, Slattery and Millar. Every chance we will lose atleast Ferguson this summer and we need to keep our experienced players. I think Slattery and Millar could work well together as Millar loves pressing the ball. Trouten has been good lately but he won't come back from pre-season any sharper.
Quite excited to see who Greig brings in. I have heard from several people that Nathan Austin is close to signing but can't see it.

Sad not to get a crack at the final but hey ho. Onto next season.
Fleming, Steele, Denham, Newton, Healy, McManus, Walls, Schiavone, Shepherd - keep
Slattery, Murdoch, Millar - Not sure on these 3, they've been good players for us over the years but Murdoch I think might be on the wane and the other two haven't featured much.
Beveridge, Omar, Trouten, Cunningham, Mansouri, Page, Williamson, Gallacher (if he's still here) - I'd let all these guys go. A few haven't featured, a few just don't look good enough, guys like Page shouldn't be in our squad anymore and Trouten looks done in.
Loans - I'd keep Quinn if we could, we'll never keep Ferguson, Denholm looked like he might have something. Taylor Steven and Connor Young haven't had a chance to feature so I'd guess we won't keep them on.
Hopefully we're a bit sharper on the squad building this year. Last summer was torture waiting for signings.
I'd keep Beveridge. Played twice this season and done well both times. Id also keep Slattery but not sure if he fancies it.
