  1. Watched the game back today.
Was a shame not to be there but for those of us who were lucky to be at Celtic park in 2014     I think we can feel that atmosphere in our bones. Personally I’ve never seen so many Saints games combined than this season so for that I’m thankful to have been along for the ride.
What stood out for me on second watch..   Doidge getting a free header with no one near him. Was that Kerr or Rooney on him. ( nitpicking).  Kane having a stinker.  His hold up play deserted him in the game but the chances he missed…. He has to keep improving next season.  McCann compared to Doig.  Doig was bullied by both Rooney and Middleton  while McCann was once gain top notch despite the previous two weeks ( was he one who he Covid?)  Our most consistent player this season . Outstanding.   Calum Booth, like Saints has got stronger and better as the season has gone on culminating in such a key part of Rooney’s goal.   Credit to both him and another former full back for his improvement.
    Spoony’s speech.  ❤️

Question!   How can you watch Cup Final in Australia and Spain. Asking for my kids!.......I'm guessing on BBC via VPN.

When others fail try He’s goal and vip box.  The second has way too many pop ups but usually gets a good stream

I remember when SBS used to show the Scottish cup final.  Usually watched it at home then had a night out with whatever teamates I had at the time for FA cup. Usually got quite messy.

  3. Basically we are better at the back , Hibs better up front with quite an even midfield.   Actually feeling pretty good about this game and way better than the semi although I’ll be kakking  my pants come game day.
Comparing 2014   Hibs feel very much like Utd.  A young manager touted along with an attacking team with future Scottish internationals but a team who we had in our pocket the few games before. The big difference is our team. They were mostly closer to the end of their careers, (especially the back line ) compared to our youthful side. I’ll be watching with my Utd supporting mate who gave me a lift back from the stadium that day so omens are good. That and getting to see Bobby Zlamal play the couple of games before   ....

  4. Very blah. It was all on Livi to win that game and they hardly seemed like they wanted it. We did what we had to do and keep them out. Our passing was the worst this season for me.  Positive was I got to see Zlamal be the only player who has now played for two of the teams I support. That and Kerr doing  some freestyle on the ground at the end

    A word on Chris Kane.

After today he’s scored the same number of goals as Lawrence Shankland this season - but has only played just over 2/3rds the number of minutes that the Dundee Utd player has. His goals have been crucial too - strikes at Celtic Park, Ibrox and today at Hampden amongst them.

His numbers work out at a goal roughly every 2.75 90 minutes. For a guy who’s game is so much more than a goal scorer that’s not bad at all. His development this season has been phenomenal. Fair play to him.

I really thought the winning goal would come from Rooney or Durmus in some way and they weren’t far off it a few times. It was a good battle. I never thought though that it would be be Kane especially after blasting over a couple of times. He’s improved his holding up play so much but doesn’t have the composure in front of goal. His touch though was a real strikers goal and gives hope that he keeps improving.

  6. Might not be a Saints player anymore but pleased for Callaghan. He's found a club that he can be confident in how he plays and it works for both him and Hamilton.  He actually has a good touch now and what a great goal. Melamed's goal was even better for me. A thing of beauty and as I missed the earlier parts of the game due to my Morrison's shopping trip/ scouting vantage points,  he really is a proper goal threat.  Love to keep him as he balances our options up front.  As an aside I was disappointed for Kano not getting a goal in the cup final. If he had his weight on the other leg all he had to do was lift the left one and he would have made contact and scored.  It would have been just desserts for the  improvement in his all round play.
