  1. Its fantasy to think there's another striker coming in. We already have 4 and we play 1 up front. None of the 4 are goalscorers. I think the general belief that Allan can come good is hope (and one I share)more than expectation. The guy scored 10 goals for Clyde, the highest he's had in a season in a largely disappointing career to date which included being released by Airdrie. When he did come on last season he offered far less threat than Burrell imo. I actually think MacIvor and Agyeman could prove useful signings but not in a McGlynn formation. I expect we'll see a lot of sideways passing leading to a high ball knocked down by one of them to no-one. We won't have a second striker and as things stand very few attacking midfielders who look to arrive in the box. Our biggest issue will be scoring goals and McGlynns willingness to find a formation that suits the players we have.
  2. Burrell may not have been amazing but the biggest issue was he didn't suit the formation. He looked a bigger threat than Oliver but was given a fraction of the chances. Can't see us playing more than 1 of the 4 this year. Agyeman may well play wide but you'd think Miller and Morrison will be first picks there. Allan offers nothing up on his own and the other 3 have horrendous scoring records. It's a worry.
  3. Red shoulders! I'm now 100% convinced we are winning the league. Happy days.
  4. Massive if true. Never had a poor Falkirk team in red shoulders. Much more confident of winning the league with this news than the new signings!
  5. All 3 could be good signings but I'm far from getting carried away. I find it hard to believe that these 2 guys will scoosh league one as the Raith fans are claiming. They're also 2 players who the same Raith fans are saying they won't miss and the manager deemed surplus to requirements at a team who finished (checks notes) 7th in the championship. Both can't surely be true. As for Miller I have no idea though we don't have a great track record with Morton squad players in recent years. Hope I'll be pleasantly surprised!
  6. While I realise we're in no position to laugh in terms of league position, the sight of all these Raith fans getting carried away and thinking their (ex) players are world beaters after finishing a lofty 7th in the Championship is incredible. Can totally see why they're all leaving for the premier.
  7. Spencer would be the best of those 3 imo but I think he'll have Championship offers. Not convinced Lang or MacDonald are particularly good signings. Lang is a Paul Watson type signing (no better) and MacDonald, while ok, is not the commanding keeper our defence need.
  8. My money is on Jamie MacDonald, Tom Lang and a pish midfielder.
  9. Still don't understand what the point of FF actually is - agree would much rather see the club promote FSS.
  10. 2 best strips for me were both the red shoulder versions. Hummel and memories of an amazing time to be a Falkirk fan and the Yogi season where we had Gow/Latapy/Stokes. Red shoulders please and elevate MacIvor, Allan and err Oliver amongst the greats!
  11. Didn't think he was that great first time round. The aforementioned flapping at crosses and glued to his line not what our (often) calamitous centre halves need. We need leaders at the back/in goals.
  12. The list suggests to me we're likely to keep Watson. Why not just announce him as released but offer him training facilities. Can't remember us ever publicising that before and suggests to me McGlynn thinks he may up signing him if no better options appear.
  13. `i agree McKay is the constant when we're shipping goals. He has to go. Lawal is only worth keeping if McGlynn finds a formation where he starts/plays much more than he has been.
  14. PJ Yeats Donaldson Watson Mackie Henderson Morrison Max Lawal Kennedy Burrell
  15. I'll be down south during the week. Is there PPV for Tuesday? (can't see anything about it online)
  16. Its a big summer for McGlynn whether we go up or not he needs to make the right signings. His recruitment has been better than the last few managers but its not been great. You could maybe argue McGinn, Kennedy and Kucheravyi have been really good signings but there have been far too many in the 'ok but not really good enough for a title winning side' camp. The likes of Donaldson, Mackie, Henderson, Kinnear, Yeats, Oliver, Morrison (PJ), Allan, Burrell and even Lawal improved on what we had but at the end of the day, they haven't good enough to lay a finger on Dunfermline over the season. We got a bit lucky v Ayr but against Dundee and ICT the gap in quality really showed. Nesbitt on a new 2 year deal and any other signings like that won't cut it.
  17. Watch it back, McCann is tracking him but doesn't bother getting in front. McKay hopeless too
  18. And unless we start putting 2 up top, outscoring anyone is very unlikely.
  19. McCann should be goal side of the striker on the 3rd too. It's just piss poor defending again and again.
  20. He was a big part of the problem at the back last year too, no obvious blunders this season but teams win headers/get on crosses far too easily time and again.
  21. The worst thing about today was how utterly predictable it was. Lots of chat about our strikers but too often our defence is the problem. Every one of them including the keeper are soft as sh*te and need replaced. McKay and Donaldson have no fight about them whatsoever and far too often we give away soft goals. McCann is ok going forward but hardly Roberto Carlos and defensively he's poor. Williamson can get off to Montrose tomorrow. I'm in the camp that thinks we have enough options going forward we just use them wrongly. 2 up front (Oliver and Burrell) gives us our best chance of scoring in games. McGlynn to blame for refusing to see that. That whole defence needs replaced though and no way its getting us past Airdrie then Cove/Hamilton without conceding more daft goals. Really hope I'm wrong but I doubt I will be.
  22. He's absolutely stuck on that formation. Putting Burrell in and playing him there is sure to fail, now he can put Oliver in and get back to the "he links the play" chat. No chance whatsoever we're going into the play offs and semi final with anything other than Oliver up top on his own.
  23. Wind and driving rain in their favour now, could be difficult last 5 mins
