If the players have the same attitude as you then no wonder your not doing as well as you'd hoped. It seems to me the Broughty players/fans think the team just have to turn up and these so called poorer team will just roll over for you. As your finding out it doesn't always work out that way.
That is absolutely not the case. Because of the last few seasons, we are seen as a scalp for these teams as evidenced by the celebrations of the FWE players at the end of the game. The problem I, and other Fed fans I talked to after he game, is that it is the same basic mistakes happening week in week out. All three FWE goals yesterday were catastrophic defensive errors but despite that if we had taken even half of the chances that came our way, we would have been out of sight. My rant was not a slight on FWE because they hung in and grabbed a point late on in the game and the way the game went it was no surprise and nobody could begrudge them a share of the points. My rant was because we had expected to be at least challenging near the top and we are not. As you can see this morning, Scotland's win hasn't exactly lightened my mood.

Albania take the lead in Hungary with an absolutely cracking solo effort from Broja. Some goal.

Great game for a neutral but I'm afraid for Broughty fans that was absolutely fucking atrocious. 3-3 at home to FWE is just not good enough. Any chance of us clinging on to the coattails of the 3 teams above us have disintegrated. In the past 3 weeks we have conceded 11 goals against Kirrie, Couper Angus and FWE, 3 of the poorer teams in the league. Another hat trick for Skelly again today but there's only so many times he can bail us out. 33 goals he has scored so far this season, which for the start of October is unbelievable. Some of our defending today though was so so bad. Fucking raging. Stick me in the heads gone.

I listen to the PopMaster podcast on BBC sounds app for this very reason.
I didn't know there was such a thing. I will look it up.

Currently enjoying Suggs counting down the hottest pop hits of 1984. What a great year for pop music. Sade may indeed have been a smooth operator but geography was not her strong point. I'm surprised nobody ever pointed out to her that if you go coast to coast you don't go from LA to Chicago. Dr. fucking Beat is on now. I trust Felt will be in the top 5.

Two rubbish games. The dark arts were strongly in evidence. Some laughable rolling around on the ground. Suarez still leading the way in this particular field of expertise.

Concacaf region shaping up nicely. USA top as you might expect but only on goal difference from Mexico with Canada, Panama and El Salvador hot on their heels. I would expect Canada and Mexico to comfortably win their next games against Jamaica and Honduras respectively. USA have got a tough match next, away to Panama.

Of course they are, in the top 7 or 8 supported clubs in England easily, if that's what you gauge it on, and that's with limited success compared to the other 'big' clubs.
But it depends if you go for the Dundee/Hibs/hearts/ Aberdeen assessment of 'big', I.e won trophies decades ago and used to get big crowds, or the St Johnstone one of constant recent success.
Ah bollocks Neville man.

A early 90's gem. This really needs a vinyl reissue.

Its got to be about time for a new Jessica Pratt album. I think she is truly wonderful. Her records are clouds on a breezy day.

Got my radiotherapy results back this week. They are as good as I could have hoped for in that there has been no deterioration. No miracle cure either unfortunately but I'm determined to last longer than the year I've been given. My meds have been tweaked this week and along with the cannabis oil (which may or may not be a placebo) I'm feeling pretty good. Broughty Athletic this weekend. Got to hang around long enough to see them in the Highland League. It's all about priorities.

I've got it on right now, sounds fantastically dreamy and a bit sinister.
Just had a look through my CD's and found All in the mind, She's a superstar and Gravity grave CD singles
Those first three singles were so good. I was actually a bit disappointed with ASIH when it came out on the back of those EP's. That first one with "All In The Mind" "A Man Called Sun" and "One Way To Go" on it is as good an EP as "Soon" or "Tremolo" by MBV imo.

Right, so how would you feel about players such as Johnny Russell, Lewis Morgan and Danny Wilson playing for the NT? It doesn't really matter anyway - so what if Ryan Gauld is around Ryan Christie's level? does it really justify all the hype and 175 pages worth of posts? I'd say no. Is it a big deal if he doesn't get called up? - Again, I'd say no.
Gauld is better than Christie but you're right, not a big deal if he gets called up, not a big deal if he doesn't. The sun still comes up tomorrow. Scotland will still be mid ranking jobbers.

Johnny Russell is a decent player but at 31, not really the future. Don't think Wilson is as good as Hanley or Hendry. Wouldn't mind seeing Lewis Morgan being at least considered. He's one of the better players in a pretty poor Inter Miami side.

So how do you think the standard of the MLS league compares to the English pyramid and SPL considering you've been a regular viewer over the past couple of years?
Personally, I think it's miles better than anything we've got up here (OF included). I don't watch much English football but I'm guessing that the money involved down there, especially in the EPL puts the top half dozen or so English teams out in front of anything in North America. After that I wouldn't have thought there's much difference between say Leeds or Southampton and some of the sides I already mentioned. But that's just my take. Set yr video and make up your own mind.

Look, I get that as an Arab you have a pro Ryan Gauld bias, but you have to set it to one side mate.
I don't pretend to know the standard, I'm just going off other peoples views and I have asked other posters what level they think the MLS is at. I think it's possible Ryan Gauld is doing well over there because the quality of the league isn't very good. So yeah I think that could be the case. The UAE league and Chinese league pay high wages and I'm not sure how good their leagues are.

Freesports cover the MLS pretty well. Try watching New England Revolution or Nashville (Hany Mukhtar is a fantastic striker) or Portland. Even teams down near the bottom like Toronto have got exciting players like Yeferson Soteldo (look him up). I hadn't watched too much until a couple of years ago but am now a fully paid up convert. A really exciting league. Honestly think Gauld is playing the best football of his career because he's found somewhere where he's happy and playing every week. I couldn't give a monkey's uncle if he gets picked for Scotland or not. We have a long history of ignoring players who should play in favour of players who play for the right club sides. Gauld will simply be another of those.

Did you work in Whiplash Trash?
Basically are you the large breasted lass who squeezed into PVC every day for work?
We're talking at least 20 years but possibly up to 30 years ago but given you're talking George Best era, it's not impossible you'll know what the f**k I'm on about.
ps. I've been to all the HMHB gigs at the Liquid Room and also saw Julian Cope, SLF and Prince Buster there. Always liked that venue.
Ha ha, I remember that lass. No, I was a Fopp worker of many years. Thankfully my breasts are considerably smaller than hers.

MLS isn't a great league at the moment, I thought the general consensus was that it is comparable to around lower Championship/ upper League 1 level.

I find this hard to believe but then I don't watch enough English football to say for sure. What I would say is the MLS is of a better standard than the Premier League in Scotland. Marshmallo incoming in 3..2..

I would suggest you should be thankful if you don't get Scotland game's on your tellybox. It would likely be Ian Crocker commentating on it. Five minutes of that c**t and you'd be pining for the fucking Chase again.
