Solid performance and looked good today. Top 4 is a possibility again. Well played lads.

Thought we thoroughly deserved the points today. We might have added to our lead but, to be fair, Antell pulled off some really decent saves.
Hugely disciplined display and we kept our shape from start to finish. City are a side that love to pass the ball about but we pressed them high up the park and they struggled to make inroads.
The referee was a strange one - contrived to book nine players - 7 from City - in a match with scarcely a bad tackle. Probably the only correct one was for Henderson’s simulation!
Will take that display and result all day long.Good goal chalked off, clear penalty in the first half and hitting the bar...maybe a draw was the fair result.
We need to attack more and look to provide more crosses. Currently very defensive midfield and not penetrating enough. But we will recover hopefully and go for the top 4. Only 2 points off the play off's. Lets attack and have a go lads, we have the attacking options.

Difficult to predict, both teams showing very recent form. Possibly 3-2.

We were far too slow. We started the game like we just had to turn up and the game was won.
There was so little running off the ball. Players passing the ball and just standing in the same position until it came back to them. Nobody really looking to drive us on.
Edinburgh never gave us a minute, were constantly pressing. But when they had possession we would back off. In our earlier games where we weren’t getting the passing going the one thing we did well was press the opposition. That was non-existent last night.
Stokes has some nice touches however he isn’t aggressive enough to play up front. You see the difference late on when Carrick up top. He shows a bit of urgency and puts himself about, even if at times it’s just drawing fouls from the opposition. He tries to drive us on.
I felt Robert has to improved on the physical side in the last couple of games. However his shooting last night was way off, at least 5 chances and only really worked the goalkeeper once. I think he needs a goal to settle down.
I’ve been quite critical of Thomson’s final ball however I felt when he came on last night he done alright, got at their full back and put in a couple of good balls.
Last night felt like the same problem Airdrie have always had against lower league teams in the cup. We start slow then late on start panicking trying to up the game. We don’t start with enough urgency.
A surprise result even for us Edinburgher's. Best wishes to Airdrie and the manager for the rest of the season (a good Hibby).
Never knew there were Tories in Airdrie? But makes the victory even more enjoyable when I see your avatar.

We beat the team who beat Clyde 5-0 on Saturday.
Which means nothing in particular but I like saying it
Great result and maybe the bounce needed? Delighted

Apparently Stenny played well today. Slight concern about comments like " Munro ragdolled Edinburgh" when we started with Brown and Black on the bench.
City seem to be making the chances but not putting them away. Fortunately we have a fairly meaningless game against Airdrie in midweek and I'd be tempted to shake things up a bit.
I'd have the fear facing an Airdrie team that just won 5-0 but for some funny reason their result put a smile on my face ..
Tough game ahead. But maybe the boys can use it as a training game and give players a chance who have not started.
Saturday is free again, maybe this weekend free is a blessing in disguise where we can plan ahead till next Saturday. Early days and as long as we finish top 4. Then we will have a chance of promotion. I am sure the team will try and compete with QP, but that is a tough one.

Stenhousemuir v Edinburgh in a 3rd versus 4th battle on Saturday. Stenhousemuir undefeated and Edinburgh with a point more currently, this looks a big game at the weekend probably just behind Elgin v QP as the game of the day. Both these games point to a draw with Stirling sneaking in with a Brechin win, but then Brechin have won and on a possible bounce back. Many scenario's and an exciting start to the season already. Annan and Cowdenbeath could sit in the top 3 with a win too! Maybe I should start with predictions for Saturdays scores......
Annan Athletic 3, Albion Rovers 0
Brechin City 1, Stirling Albion 1
Elgin City 2, Queens Park 1
Stenhousemuir 1, Edinburgh City 2
Stranrear 2, Cowdeneath 1

The conditions were bad yesterday but not close to the worst I've seen us play in. There was a game at home to Stenny a few years ago where goal kicks were almost going directly out for corners but by far the worst was a cup tie at the Broch in 2011. I don't think there was a single chance all game and it remains to this day the worst game of football I've ever seen (there are plenty of candidates). I'd imagine it was only a light breeze in that part of the world.
I was impressed with Elgin. Unlucky to miss some good chances and played decent football, well organised and attacking. You look like a top 4 team and will be in the mix.

Might as well look forward to the weekend ahead and see what people think?
Edinburgh started brilliantly with 5 goals in the opening game and then came up against a tough Cowdenbeath team who held out for a 1-0 victory. Now on to Saturday and Elgin City who sit top of the table. Not sure what to expect to be honest but have a feeling Edinburgh will be up for this and re-organised. I will go for a 3-2 home win but football seems difficult to predict this season.

5-1 away from home, 5 different scorers, looking down on Qu££n's Park from top of the League.
Pleasing.
A perfect start to the season, passing game, 5 different scorers and a strong squad. Can we dream yet?

Laughing stock of Scottish football again. Cant see things getting better any time soon
Keep the faith Hedgeman. You look like a young team. Best wishes for your season.
Edinburgh played some good football today and knocked the ball about well on a tight pitch.

Was never going to surpass last seasons belter. Same blue body/white sleeves as the 2010/11 shirt. Your average looking kit, but why oh why have we reverted back to red socks? Should have been white or blue. Will still get shirt to help the club. Can we please have a yellow/green away shirt, blue shorts and white socks
I really like that top. Ideally with white shorts and green socks. Then the away Yellow tops, blue shorts and white socks. Many combinations possible which would be excellent. Bin the black or red socks and find bright colours.

We've signed Kelby Mason after his release from Hearts.
Looked pretty decent between the sticks last season so
Another quality player with huge potential. Hearts loss and our gain. Welcome back Kelby.

Lee Hamilton has signed for Edinburgh City.
Can any Stranraer or Stirling Albion fans looking in here offer your opinion of Lee Please?
A quality player, good on the ball and will fit our playing style perfectly. I remember him at Stirling. Welcome Lee.

I wonder if City are (part) paying for it and Spartans taking the credit (see the turnstiles previously). Spartans didn't have to do anything to the terrace really and it's more of benefit to City.
Interesting the pitch is being relaid though- should suit our silky football.
A brand new state of art pitch will help the style of football we play. Happy days. Terracing on the opposite side of the main stand will be good for increasing viewing opportunities - Main stand, side of pitch, behind the goals and now behind the dugouts! All good for the season ahead. Away fans welcome in all areas too.

Warm Welcome to P&B buddy! It's great to see another City (and Hibees) fan on here!
Hi Tenkay. Can't wait on the season ahead for City, just hope the team can strengthen very slightly and take on QP?! It will be a tough task to be honest.
We have lost a few players and maybe need 1 or 2 more.

We've already sold 5k season tickets
That is good going. What is the normal season ticket level and what is expected?
Hibs usually have about 12,000 season tickets but have been known to reach 14,000.

Ross County just sold their best young player, and one of the most promising youngsters in the Country, for £35k.
They signed Oli Shaw for £100k.
They have almost zero interest in youth development.
£100k for Ollie Shaw!!!! Really. He hardly played. Is he still there?

Transport? Seems to have been a problem for people trying to leave Edinburgh.
No parking around Murrayfield apart from the Skating Rink area.
I really wish we could build a New Hampden in the middle of Scotland where transport links are decent for the whole Country. Denny - Stirling area.
Build a stadium with 3 tiers, 30/30/30k. 90k fully open for Big Scotland games and Celtic Rangers finals for instance, dropping down to 60k for other big games and then 30k for smaller crowds expected but keeping the New Hampden experience there.

Game for Saturday.
I never commented last week and it worked wonders! So the same again this week - no prediction from me.
Albion Rovers seemed to play well against QP and Stirling without points? Maybe they have improved? Rovers fans want to comment?
