Surely it's more likely that Gartenmann and MacDonald has been working broadly quite well for us and there will have been a reticence to break that up. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Rubezic and possibly Jensen tomorrow, though.

I think we are testing a few of the players out playing in Thelin formations. I don’t disagree that they are our best pairing, but wonder if Ruby will get a run out, as he has matched up well against county previously as well.

I also wonder if Bojan will be left out as he will likely be on his way. So we won’t want him injured and playing him is unlikely to inform next season. It would be a shame not to see if he can add to his goal tally though.

I do wonder if Ruby is off. I'd have expected him to be back in the team by now.

The rumours of why he wanted away previously were so ridiculous that they were believable.

He was told, allegedly, to calm down on the gym work so started frequenting city centre gyms instead of using the facilities at Cormack 🤣

Do they do a Ruby’s Tuesday weight session at the warehouse gym now? He needs to keep up the neck strength for heading the ball and small strikers.

  3. I wouldn’t really like to see County go down, now Mackay is no longer their manager. I also wouldn’t like to see St Johnstone go down either.

I am glad Livi are finally being relegated. Their standard of plastic pitch should be banned from the Scottish premiership thereafter. It creates a leveller, by reducing the quality of the football that can be played, which isn’t right. A bit like Craig Levein’s tactics really.

If you'd had a CB with 100+ games in this league (and functioning legs before you make a joke and say Considine) then you'd probably be in the top half right now.

You'll need to give your new manager that kind of help early on IMO.

They haven’t got 100 games yet, but Liam Gordon from your team and Robbie Deas have their contracts finishing this summer, as potential pre-contract options? Are you suggesting anyone else specifically?

Bacchus would be a similar option. I think we would have been in a far better position, including in Europe, if we had an effective defensive midfielder. Not replacing Ramadani was costly.

It’s incredible to think that without a former St Mirren manager and numerous former Saints players Aberdeen would never have achieved the major honours in the 80s.

I’m thinking initially of Bell, Cowan, Weir, Stark, McDougall managed by Mr Ferguson.

And yet you remain the only club to have sacked Sir Alex. That’s on your clubs record not ours.

Sometimes it’s as easy as looking at the players.

That’s nonsense, as we all know. This Aberdeen team are far too nice and contest far too little at their cost. Where are most Scottish teams are happy to cheat on every call every time. Just watch how throw ins are routinely contested by players who know they have put the ball out.

Perhaps we should have played with the same intensity before the 90th minute.

The midfield were non-existent. We've had plenty examples over the course of the season to show Shinnie can't manage back to back 90 minutes 3-4 days apart.

The lack of signing a defensive midfielder is looking increasingly destructive. Similarities to Dundee united last year sadly. We have a slightly better keeper. We really need to halt this momentum soon.

MacDonalds use of the ball us what probably keeps him out.

Given that Jensen seems to always go backwards to Roos I’m not convinced of this.

Basically I’m not saying Macdonald is technically the best player, but his positioning and directing of the players around him mean we play better with him in the team.

There’s absolutely no doubt this squad is under achieving, that’s not to say it’s amazing. We had this discussion before and I said defensively we were poor and this would undermine us unless we addressed it in January.

This is true, but I can’t understand why we don’t play Macdonald regularly. I know he lacks pace, but his positioning and reading of the game is much better than our other centre backs. I think this also helps the players around him make less of the errors that have killed us in the last few games. He can be one of the leaders in a team which badly lacks them.

I think The Rangers are basically saying to the SFA “we don’t trust the integrity of one of your officials”.

They should have the book thrown at them by the SFA, but they won’t, because the SFA are shit scared at upsetting them.
    See 2012 for evidence.

It would be great if the SFA do agree to The Rangers request.

Then, I’d look to Aberdeen to say to the SFA we don’t want Beaton, Walsh, McLean, Dallas Aitken etc, or any other supporter of that abhorrent organisation formerly known as “Rangers”, or any subsequent Tribute Act, to officiate at an Aberdeen v The Rangers game.

Paraphrasing, I despise the SFA, but far more so, The Rangers FC, a disgusting organisation, from the very top, down to the very, VERY low, their fan base.

Basically the SFA need to take formal action here. Sevco are attacking the sports integrity and this needs action.

There also desperately needs to be an effort to train and progress officials from a wider distribution across the country. There are far too many WOS officials. Between this and the media reporting bias the irony is the amount Sevco benefit from this. However, the other clubs should take the chance to promote the wider development of officials.

At least we're the top club in the North East at Xmas.

I think that title should go to Cove. At least they were competent enough to manage to have a playable pitch yesterday. Their grounds staff even had assistance from their fans to clear the snow. The Dundonians probably couldn’t be trusted not to piss in the goal mouth to preserve their league position.
