He wasn't shafted by the club, he actually told Steve Brown to sell Ali McCann. Anyone connected to Saints knew as soon as we were out of Europe those two would be off, it's criminal he hadn't identified replacements, although he has said McPherson was McCanns replacement but that's surely a joke right? He's then went on to sign 3 players for Kerr's position with another coming in in January. There's now SIX players in the squad who can play that position. All the while he's failed to sign what we actually need in a striker, resigned MOH and a crippled Stevie  May and has Chris fucking Kane as his main striker. The daft hobbit deserves everything he gets for that shitshow and that's before we get onto formations, subs and off field politics.

    You’re about 12 aren’t you?

Referring to your most successful manager as ‘daft hobbit’ 6 months after winning a trophy.

    Have a word ffs.

No problem it was a while ago I had to look it up myself.

My point is tho it was a rebuilding time. We had a guy there who had proven he could build a good team. But we binned him for the complete unknown.

We cant go back and say how would Duffy had done. But I think it was the wrong decision. And its hard to argue now that it wasn't.

    * Edit, thanks for the clowns who pushed for it identifying themselves with the red dots 👍

Duffy was hampered by having to rebuild the team every season due to the 1 year contracts.

As you say, he’d earned the chance of another bite at it.

Anyone remember when Jim Duffy got the job? Took us up in his first year, consolidated and kept us safe in the championship the next year finishing 5th.

3rd year had our best season in recent times, finishing 4th had some cracking players and was awarded championship manager of the year.

The next year with morton sitting a safe 7th some fans wanted him sacked, despite not one at the time being able to suggest an alternative.

They got their way and since then we have been in terminal decline.

And alot of these football experts still post.

    Stop stating facts.

Hearing Morton having problems in their back line, especially the right hand side makes me think this is going to be a festival of Nouble.

The back line has been fine all season until the manager got bagged.

I expect to get downvoted but Morton were always in the game under McPherson, with the sole exception of the 3 nil defeat at partick - which was a one off.

Otherwise backline acquitted themselves just fine.

  5. Dunfermline have the players to get out of this and will providing they appoint someone with experience.

They won’t do it with the playing out from the back pish they tried today. Martin Hardie commentating forgetting this is the championship and not the champions league. The calibre of player isn’t there for that style of play. It’s just naive.
McPherson countered it easily today by not pressing or getting sucked in.
The league is full of experienced managers like Duffy, Campbell, McCall who are not daft enough to fall for it.

The 'no experience in Europe' chat about someone who has won the J-League, AFC Cup, and qualified and coached for a World Cup, or referring to such a coach as a 'random' is a close relative of English Premier League fan bois never watching Scottish football but then giving it the 'my nan' chat about the SPFL.

Ange's got a good record as a coach and probably has the right kind of personality to manage Celtic too.

He's got a better coaching profile than anybody working in Scotland at the moment. By a distance.

"I've never heard of this guy" does not equal "This guy is a nobody". There are plenty of coaches in Asia you've never heard of who wouldn't touch the Celtic job.

I think some people are vastly over-estimating Scotland's place in the world here.

Some laugh reading wee hipsters who have blatantly never kicked a baw in their lives pretending to know who this guy is.

You guys have fair hit form since Hopkin went. What's the secret?

    Coincidence

The football hasn’t really changed and we still sit too deep. There’s every possibility that we’d have won those two games under Hopkin anyway. Last season we went on a tremendous run post January once things clicked, so it’s not like back to back wins are a miraculous turnaround.

Dunfermline were pretty ineffective and allowed us to make the game very scrappy - with the players very motivated to give themselves and the fans a lift after a bad week...... and queens already play a scrappy game, which suited us. I think we were close to evens yesterday to beat a team that have been struggling badly.

Every 3 points is an achievement in this league and I was delighted, but I don’t think we played particularly well, just better than our opponents.

Im slightly dubious about McElhone being given the job until the end of the season, although I think having Midge, McAllister and McLean about the place is likely very helpful.

We’ll just need to see how it goes and I hope I’m pleasantly surprised by my fears being unfounded.

Make no mistake we were truly awful but Morton were every bit as bad. They created virtually nothing and somehow scored two goals from open play. I guess it sums up how easy it is to score against us and take the points.

Squad littered with players who lack the ability and application required.

Don’t drag us into your doom wallowing
