Never mind the infantile tit for tat bollox, just get some tickets bought for Weds night to create an atmosphere at the derby.

Both clubs lobbied to have it played in front of fans hence the rearranged date after restrictions lifted - I don’t think they meant 95% home fans!

We created the atmosphere at firhill on Tuesday with 280 odd fans

Absolutely no plan, never has been under Bullen, this was another crap performance with the same back 4. Midfield did next to nothing, we have replaced Chalmers with someone else who fills a jersey and does little else, McKenzie and Maxwell were marshalled out the game, we did almost nothing going forward, same performance different team.

The window was an opportunity to reset, we didn't, we have signed some players on spec and are playing the same dreadful way. If Bullens after-match interview talks about being unlucky or blaming the pitch then f**k him. 75 minutes of shite he watched then swapped right backs.

Its laughable how bad we have become and Bullen has learned absolutely zip since he started. He needs to get a grip quickly.

No sure what game you were watching but Ben Dempsey is a huge upgrade on slow joe.

The criticism Mcginty gets on this thread is way over the top. Every mistake is criticised. Pity we can’t pay £50 million for the perfection that is Harry Maguire!! He is a leader and our captain and is trying his best for the team and played well today imo. Give him a break ffs.

how can one have watched every Ayr game this season and say that. Fair enough footballers make mistakes that’s understandable but the amount of time mcginty has personally cost us points is massive.

Better team won that today, Saints had more energy, more hungry and more organised.

The whole collective back 4 is a mess, we were torn apart at times.

Whatever people see in Andy Murdoch this season well and truly remains a mystery to me, what does he actually bring to the team??

Gondoh looked good with his work rate and good dribbling, sadly he had very little service.

Andy murdoch has been Ayr’s best player this season by an apsolute country mile of that there is no doubt. If he signs a contract extension that would be a superb bit of business but i canny see it unfortunately.

    I completely agree.

I don’t want to see us play three defensive central midfielders and barely a single creative player. Lets be positive and actually have players on the pitch who can do some damage when we have the ball. Within this, we can still look to be organised and hit on the counter attack

I agree. Ayr will be a far better team if we can just get muirhead back to centre half, stick murdoch infront of the back 4 as that is his best position then sign a creative midfielder. Ayr have been needing a creative midfielder since Kerr became manager. I have faith in bullen to sort this problem!

right first time posting ever in here after making it an account and doing nothing with it for years.

does anyone know how Michael Miller is doing at Stenny? i've felt without Muirhead we have a lack of real defensive midfielders and yeah he's playing League 2 football but he could do with the extra cover no?

Think he’s been playing most of his games at RB. He was a bit of a Bon scare in midfield for us however I’d probs have him next to murdoch instead of slow joe.

I've found Albinsons distribution to be pretty poor, not to mention that he ponders over the ball and takes so bloody long that some of our players are exasperated and are no longer making runs as they know that they won't receive the ball.

Very true but least he can kick it over the halfway line. When mcadams came in After that game when albinson was dropped after he and mcginty had that miss communication, mcadams’ kicking was apsolutely hopeless

Bradley was pretty ineffective and the link up play with Adeloye was non existent.  Looked pretty knackered to me when he went off.  On top of that we tried Bradley on the right against Accies and he proved to be absolute powder puff defensively.  I think the real question is why Moffat didn’t start the game - he is still the most intelligent footballer at the club.

I personally thought we played OK with our defending and use of the ball much better than the start of the season.  I think we’re just having to play round fundamental deficiencies at the moment - a lack of support for Adeloye, a lack of attacking threat down the right and the lack of a midfield playmaker (though I thought Murdoch in particular was excellent).

Murdoch has been the best Ayr player on the park in my opinion for the past 4 games. He goes about his business quietly but you can see clear as day he is a total class above. If we had another Andy murdoch type to play the mark kerr role infront of the back 4 that would sort out the midfield troubles I reckon.

  9. what is still baffling is there is still Ayr fans that think slow joe is a good player. He has not had one good game from Ayr. The contribution from barjonas yesterday who probably isn’t 100% fit was far better than anything chalmers has done. We need to get something out of the next 3 games and unfortunately playing joe just isn’t the answer.

I think it'll be 442, you could swap Muirhead and Ndaba but I can't see the central defensive pairing be changed for as crucial a game. Hence Ndaba in the midfield for me.

    Houston Baird Muirhead Reading

    McCowan Murdoch Ndaba Walsh

                        Smith   Mckenzie

I hope it isn’t ndaba he was shocking in midfield I thought last week he kept drifting towards left side

going by the twitter page, it would suggest muirhead is in midfield. 4-1-4-1 maybe. Muirhead’s leadership and voice in the middle of the park will be crucial. So glad to see chalmers off the park he is hopeless. Zanatta on the other end is hopeless upfront but stick him on the left at somepoint and he will do a good bit of running up and down.

I’d maybe start zanatta and play Mccowan up front with Moffat or Mckenzie. If we’re under pressure Mccowan can drop deeper to get the ball and link play.

I don’t get what the obsession with zanatta is he’s shite. Lazy and every time he gets the ball his head just goes down and he runs to the line. Hope he’s out the club in the summer and isn’t offered another contract. Plenty better players out there. I’ve also had enough of chalmers just pisses me off every single game. Yes sometimes he makes one/two nice passes but he’s so slow with everything he does and his first thought most of the time is to pass the ball backwards. Yes Murdoch hasn’t been brilliant either but I’d have him in over chalmers
