I’m voting snp and hoping that they put forward the case for independence and a referendum but I can’t see the uk government allowing it.

How does it work exactly, I’m not sure we need years of hassle after covid but willing to sacrifice finances and have austerity if an independent Scotland will work for future generations. Covid has made me think that the snp are all style and no substance. TBH devo max would do me for a few years until things recover. I’m not anti Scottish or independence, just being pragmatic.

Queen of the South certainly had a low budget and Johnston had a thankless task at the start of the season, that's certainly not the case now. It's quite clear that Queens have used news of the government grant to significantly upgrade their squad, which is fair enough given their caution and having established a stable basis to do that (as opposed to clubs that have chucked stupid contracts around in both windows).

Calling Rangers and shipping in a stack of loan players is not an 'innovative' approach to the transfer market though, not even remotely.

    Oh dear

    😂

I didn’t actually say “relegated” so please don’t put words into my mouth.
I think a big number want Johnston out and while this revival has been great it hasn’t necessarily suited their agenda or supported earlier scathing criticism of him.As I said in another post I just don’t understand why Johnston is viewed so negatively by so many. His record as a player and a manager here bears very favourable scrutiny with the vast majority of managers that I have seen here over many long years supporting the club.

“Seeing Johnston fail than us to stay up” suggests being relegated. For him to fail would only be him getting us relegated. What else would be regarded as a failure? Because after the season we’ve had just about all our fan base expected us to get relegated this season, we thought it was inevitable. Staying up whether that be via the play-off would be an achievement in many fans eyes after going a year without a win.  That’s not me putting words in your mouth.

“A side full of better players” .......is that not what you want your Manager to achieve? Some posters on here seem more intent on seeing Johnston fail than us to stay up so that they can play “the told you so” card. Others seem more intent on Tommy Goss getting game time than us grinding out results.

Are you seriously suggesting some of our own fans want our club to get relegated this season? Just so they can say “I told you so” regarding the manager?
    What a load of rubbish.

Has a team ever released the line-up 10 hours before kick off?

I wasn't asking about the line up. I was asking who is available.

I know, I was just playing.

I’d be happy with the same line up that played against Hearts. Not sure if Fitzpatrick is still isolating so he might replace Dapo if Dapo is unavailable. Thought Nortey had a good game vs Hearts so would be content with seeing him keep his place. Buchanan as well, as much as he’s been poor for us - he was solid on Friday night.

Or they’re referring to the option which is on Facebook when you go to either deactivate or delete it.

No, that option is to delete your Facebook account (according to your screenshot), it doesn't delete Facebook.

By it I meant account. Who’s English is slumping now?

Also annoyed by people referring to "deleting" Facebook.

You're not deleting Facebook, you're closing your account. Facebook will exist without you, everything you've ever typed, clicked on, or linked to is still available to be analysed by market researchers, and any pictures you've uploaded will be sold for advertising purposes in the decades to come.

    Thank you for your contribution.

Well no. You can delete your account.

ETA - I never said “you’re deleting Facebook.” I said deleting their Facebook account. Which is an option when you go on to Facebook and either deactivate or delete it.

    Thanks for your contribution though.

  8. Just came across this thread.

Maybe been mentioned before but what bugs me probably the most is when people feel the need to announce that they’re deleting their Facebook. What makes is worse is 2 hours later they’re still posting on Facebook and haven’t deleted it. Cry for attention!

  9. Re Tommy Goss.

Certainly from a couple of people I’ve spoken to about him, the cry for him to start is 1) he’s a local lad and 2) he scored 40+ goals in a season in the Southern Counties league - which then led to Gibson taking him to the reserves. But let’s face it, the southern counties league is a glorified amateur league and there’s a massive difference between that league and the one we play in. So the goals in that league doesn’t merit him a start. Also being a local lad doesn’t merit him a start before any loan players. Is he good enough for this division? Who knows, he might not even have been signed if this pandemic never happened and we had to make cut backs. We’ve certainly not seen enough of him to know whether he is good enough at this level.

  10. Well that was an interesting read for the last hour. Definitely cured my boredom that’s for sure.
Not sure why everyone is losing the head, Nicola Sturgeon basically told us weeks ago what to expect and what not to expect and that’s exactly what happened. We knew we weren’t coming out of lockdown and we knew only the younger kids were going back.
Actually, it’s all starting to look a bit more positive. Steps are being taken to get us out of this mess which is a great sign. We’re a lot further forward today than we have been for nearly a year.
    Things are looking up.
