Cameron gave us a big shift, good hold up play but never had a chance to do anything in terms of scoring . There is a player in Fitzpatrick but he needs to screw the nut a bit if he wants to make a step up again. For me the only poor performance was Ruben, just didn’t work, kept ending up in Cameron position as well where he should have hung at back post.

We need to stick with that back 3, we look most comfortable with it. Cooper on left looked very decent considering it was his first game in a number of weeks, still not sold on Johnston but he put in a shift. Willie was decent in middle of park and tbf to Cochrane he did well today especially the dirty stuff that you wouldn’t necessarily say he’s good at. Connelly was excellent again, even when it doesn’t come off the shift he puts in is incredible.

Agree cooper was a natural left wing back. Cochrane played well but a lot of passes go astray. With 2 big guys up front players will pump the ball forward. Prefer 1 big 1 small and Connelly supporting.

  2. Just like last year the tinkerman gets a result. Junior on the LHS side was a total disaster. Big Cameron worked hard but did not really give us that much. Thanks to the work of Connelly we got a win. I really don't rate Fitzpatrick he brings nothing to the side. Would like Cameron with Roy/Paton up top with Connelly behind them. Gibson is our Mr versatile but I like him on the RHS. Dunfermline never looked like scoring.

Nice to have attacking options available off the bench I suppose. No idea how we'll set up yet, particularly up front. A front 2 or one of Cameron/Junior playing out of position. I know which option is more likely.

    Gibson and Cochrane centre midfield.

Junior Cameron and Connelly front three

  4.                  Brynn

McKay.   Nditi   Chima/East  Gibson.      Cooper/ Debayo         McGrory  Liddle        Todd/Cochrane/Fitzpat

                Connelly.

         Ruben  Roy/Paton

Joseph, Johnston I personally would not include in our starting 11

  5. I thought we played so much better when we played 3-5-2 this allowed our wing backs to get forward and that is when we seen Gibson at his best. All this chop and changing by AJ is outrageous. It's was the same last year and he stumbled across a winning formula for about 9 games in a full season 🤔.Get Nditi back in defence and get Cooper or Debayo to left wing back their natural positions. I would like to see to Gibson back on the right instead of young Johnston.

Genuinely do think we have a decent enough squad. But the continual change of formations every week isn’t helping, teams always changing with it. Don’t think we’ve had a settled back 4 all season. And we keep moving Nditi about. A bit like Naysmiths time in charge were over worrying about the opposition a changing us to try combat, why not get a settled way of playing and try take the game to the opposition.

Today Johnston got it all wrong against mediocre opposition or at least a mediocre performance from them. Mcgrory on right of midfield? Gibson in middle of park when he’s been so good at full back? Joseph even being on park never mind last 90 mins?! For me if Liddle and Mcgrory are playing then that allows you to be a bit more expansive infront, get pace down the wings and get us a presence in the box. The two goals we conceded were shite also, first one another mistake from Brynn, wall was nothing like it. Second there was a massive gap between McKay and Debayo absolutely criminal after just getting ourselves back level. Just keep a line and pull one of the midfielders in instead of getting dragged about at that stage of game. That’s 3/4 times we’ve been a position to at least get ourselves a point to throw it away. Sometimes you just have to settle for it, and do the ugly side of the game to see it out.

Did not see the game. Why is he making all these changes and changing people positions. As you Gibson excellent on right and McGrory doing a job as a holding midfielder. Joseph I can't get my head round I don't see a player in him at all. Ruben will not score a lot of goals but he makes the opposition defence work harder.

AJ please just play everyone in their proper roles.

  7. Let be honest this is a game of opinions. But let's remember all our players are following instructions from the manager. Why did we waste Nditi by picking up McKenna. Debayo got schooled by Nboule. He was second to every challenge and always let the ball bounce. Why don't we just play to our strengths not worry about the opposition strengths. When we pay so poorly we will always struggle to attract top loan players. Most of ours end up getting released by their clubs.

Ruben really has to do things quicker he slow the game down then thinks he has won a foul all the time. Connelly loses the ball a lot but is our only spark at this time. Cochrane and McGrory neat and tidy but Cochrane has to up his game he gives the ball away to often. Paton has to play as a forward he is totally wasted out wide.

We missed lots of chances today that players with  composure with lap up. We could really do with a food quality loan striker from the PL league if the board could release the funds.

I think it'll be yet another close game. I preferred our formation in the second half last weekend, the 3 centre backs all looked solid, and I think wing back is where we get the best out of Gibson. The centre of midfield is where my biggest concerns lie, as I didn't think Cochrane looked great at all. I'd change that up.

    I'd go

                           Brynn

              McKay Debayo Nditi

    Gibson McGrory Liddle Johnston

                          Connelly

              Soares Junior     Paton

I would drop young Johnston and play either cooper or East as Arbroath are a street wise time and will target the youngster. Apart from that is Liddle and better than Cochrane we will only find out if he gets a chance.

  9. Great 3 points. Should have been 3 up after 20 minutes.

Well played Sol fantastic performance. Commanding and great shot stopping and reactions.

Young Johnston had a really difficult game today and was found out a bit.

Nditi Gibson and Debayo were excellent throughout. Willie tried a few risky things but got away with it today. East done well for a difficult 15 minutes interesting he came on before Cooper.

Midfield wise Cochrane for me has to step up he is a bit slow in possession but to be honest when him and McGrory has some space they seemed to link quite well.

I thought McGrory done well he totally took Tait out of the game. He again was sacrificed to protect the team.

Connelly is a bundle of energy and scored a good goal with a bit of luck but who cares. He works so hard but he has to preserve his energy as he was replaced by an empty jersey in Joseph.

Big Ruben again was really good and gave their defence no time. His close control is excellent but has to be more aware of space to run into.

Paton again was another one that was sacrificed for the team. But he never stopped all day.

We look to have a better squad now and this should increase performance level
