  1. Why would he be jailed - he wasn’t convicted in a criminal court. The fact that he wasn’t put in front of a criminal court is another matter which is more to do with the justice system than anything else He did pay the compensation. The woman involved didn’t see any of it as it all ended up lawyers fees.
  2. He clearly doesn't have the final say if the club sponsors can dictate who and who we can't sign. Well I don’t think he will have been against it in footballing terms
  3. 1. It will be news today, maybe tomorrow, when he plays his first game and that will be it 2. We weren’t exactly pulling up trees bringing in sponsorship before 3. Maybe this season but don’t think beyond that 4. Absolutely
  4. Agree most people who are happy to have them back will either have said so or chose not say. Basically you can’t have an argument with someone who doesn’t say anything Though I am happy to raise my head above the parapet now and again to get shot at
  5. Why would Lennon not support this loan? After all he has final say on all players coming to the club. There is no way he would have turned him down on a footballing viewpoint together with the comments he gave when he initially moved to RR
  6. The true reaction of the signing will be when he plays his first game rather than comments on an online forum Though to be fair the number of comment on here today will probably be the same as the number of fans at the first game
  7. Dont know the answer either but not relevant as he isnt a teacher, or doctor or working vulnerable people (well you could maybe say big Jonesy is a vulnerable footballer in that he isnt one). I guess would depend if Disclosure Scotland deemed them unsuitable and removed them from the PVG scheme.
  8. I dont hold anything against him wanting to move and have one last crack at full time football. He certainly more that deserved the chance. That plus the opportunity to increase his weekly wage by 50-75% isnt something anyone would turn down. I have employees who have left seeking pastures new only to find out that things wherent as rosy on the other side and then come back and become an even better employee.
  9. He paid the compensation to the women involved who then had to pay the lawyers their fees. I would understand that to paying the compensation he was due as ordered by the court.
  10. I would hope so. However I think you will find there is a proportion of men been in situations similar in their younger days.
  11. He was ordered to pay £100k which he did by selling his house. Unfortunately most of the £100k went in lawyers fees.
  12. If you dont think the punish was harsh enough then surely that is a problem of the justice system more than anything else. I dont agree that you would apologise for something you believe you havent done. You may be sorry that that the circumstances of events ever happened for all involved but you surely cant apologise if you genuinely feel you did nothing wrong???
  13. Well put. He was a bit of an idiot in his younger days getting into trouble on more than one occasion but plenty of us have been the same in our younger days. But like most people it appears he has matured in recent years and become the model pro both on and off the park.
  14. He doesnt believe he has done anything wrong so difficult to show remorse for something he hasnt done. If he did then he could open himself up to potential prosecution. I am sure he is sorry that the whole event ever happened and wished he could go back in time to change everything.
  15. Wholeheartedly agree. What are people wanting. Are they wanting him to be ostracized from society for ther rest of his life. If that is the case do they want that to apply to everyone who has a criminal conviction. From his time at Clyde he has been a model pro both on and off the park as I understand. What more can he do???? Or it is just nothing.
  16. I had accepted that wouldnt see him back after the board made their decision last week and was ready to move on. However, there was a big backlash from others that forced the board to change their mind.
  17. Like me they probably wouldnt have turned their back as I had accepted that it didnt look like he was going to come back but I am pleased that will be playing as he has done for the last 4 or 5 years. But if you ask me would you prefer him in the side as opposed to not then absolutely.
  18. If you disagree with the decision then you vote with you feet. However there was many that were going to vote with their feet and funding the other way if he wasnt approached to come back.
  19. I will be going week in week out like I have in the past.
  20. Take it from me, it has happened, a joint statement will be announced by both clubs together, I thought they would have announced it by now but expect it will be sometime later today. As I knew it was a done deal last night about 7pm
  21. Pressure from sponsors and fans over the last few days have forced Board to change their mind
  22. There is the rabbit out the hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Patience Patience.......I still feel there might be a rabbit pulled out of the hat !!!!!!!!
  24. Yeah understand is one of the top earners and in top 5 is probably right. Think top earners will be (in no particular order) 1. Goodwillie 2. Parry (replacing Mitchell) 3. Gomis 4. Love 5. Balatoni
