Agreed! The main priority for any relegated team is an immediate promotion. Dunbar have fared much better than Nitten S and Whitehill W and are surely a nap to be in the top 3 come end of season. I also agree/think that Dunbar will go up as league winners. The coaching staff/ players should be satisfied as things stand, the way their season is going..
I think that promotion is the #1, everything else is secondary. Hopefully DU continue their positive progress back to the premier. Every point still has to be hard earned.

Can't see Glenrothes dropping points but good luck to Luncarty, for obvious reasons.

don't think any top 5 team will go unbeaten till the end of the season so still lots of twists and turns
Dunbar still favourites for me as they have the points on the board but have struggled against the lower teams and away from home
I agree very much - there’s going to be twists and turns. With no doubt some inexplicable defeat for someone.
Theres a couple of tough run in sequences, and also some gritty teams at the lower end with it all to play for in terms of maintaining their place in the Div 1.
Yes, agree points on the board are like the golden share.

Duns had a fantastic ground too where Manchester City I think opened it not that long ago.
A very tidy, organised, safe, comfortable and clean ground.

So not Broadwood?
Dinnae quote me fellah, that’s what I’m trying to find out. I couldn’t believe the venue capacity wise.
Broadwood makes much more sense to me.1 -
I’m told the final is at Irvine Meadow.
Will it be a tickets only game?

Yes and they have only lost twice all season compared to our 5 losses. That was maybe their bad patch cos they have been very consistent.
And they’ve (Glens) also got to play all the top 5,,, which DU have already done very successfully.

Interesting the match between those two in August gave a 7:3 victory……. to Luncarty.

Camelon starting to find their feet under new regime with a string of good results, should set them up for a bigger push next season
Personally I think they’re a tough side to grind out a result from. Dunipace even more so.

Tremendous achievement. Very very well done.
All the best in the final1 -
Very well done to the Glens.
nice one. All the very best in the final. Think I’ll be there.1 -
Looking at the some of the remaining fixtures - could be entertaining.
DUFC play four of the current bottom 6 clubs
15 - Shipyard
14 - Lochore
12 - Leith
11 - Camelonhowever, Glenrothes are due to play all clubs listed in todays top five, comprising;
1 - DUFC
3 - Nitten
4 - Luncarty
5 - Dunipace
You couldn’t make it up what’s going on in this league. Great entertainment and interest.

West champion looks like Beith won't be licensed so don't play in playoff.
Apparently Creetown and lochar will be licensed to play in playoff

I had a post typed but it wouldn’t send as I was on the Ullapool ferry, but I’m not letting it go to waste
So:The way I’m reading this is, assuming Lithgae go up, we’re dealing with rows 5-8.
Row 5 happens if Spartans replace Elgin. Row 6 - Neither Bonnyrigg nor Rovers come down. Row 7 - Spartans replace Bonnyrigg or Rovers. Row 8 - Buckie or Brechin replace Bonnyrigg or Rovers.
Right?
Think I can follow that. It seems correct.
But,,,,,,, surely the SoS and WoS leagues winners are entitled to a play off scenario. Whether they actually meet the criteria in other factors is a separate matter to be dealt with outside of any play-off.
Perhaps it not yet all done and dusted.0 -

Last nights Kinnoull v Luncarty game was possibly the worst game ive seen this season and thats saying a lot as im at all the St Johnstone games!
A bit disappointing for the crowd which looked in the 250-300 mark, well up on the usual attendance at Kinnoull.
Two teams who just cancelled each other out and the ball spent most of the time in the air.
The ref also let a lot go in the first half and it was no surprise to eventually see a red card
Luncarty thought they had the win with a late penalty only for Kinnoull to head home from a corner with second left.
A point each is not much use for either in the promotion race
Who got the red card? What for?

Tomorrow it’s yet another trip to the nice City of Perth in the quest for league points. The earlier meeting in the season at NCP resulted in a convincing 5:0 victory.
By all accounts last Saturday in the same neck of the woods seemed to be a thoroughly convincing performance - very well done to all!!
Hopefully the sequence continues.0 -

Really think every champion club should go up automatically - if criteria is met. Scottish non Lge club's don't get massive support compared to down south but, the changes that many clubs have already made - grounds, floodlights, gaining licenses has been absolutely brilliant. To see the changes made, at a decent cost, proves these clubs have taken this seriously and deserve the pyramid to work better in the future. Fully expect most Premier Divisions to be fully licensed before long.
I’d go with that.
Also, there’s a quotation
‘All Champions are winners, but not all sinners are Champions.

Nobody has said they should be be the main source of funds for improvements, however some clubs have had their local authority give them money to help with upgrades, floodlights for example which is a great expense. In the small rural towns in Ayrshire the clubs are seen as part of the community and that's why (some) have been granted funds to upgrade their facilities promote involvement within the community. But it depends where you are and what authority you fall into.
Don’t you think that having that safety net makes clubs look for the easy option?
Then when the LA has tight budgets, football clubs will be the last thing on their minds. Then there’s the discussion about where you draw the line, tier 3,4,5,6,7 or 8 ,,,,
Not easy to resolve that one.

Yes we need to be delivering on the park where it has for some time been so near so far which isn’t good enough.
However off the park having a local authority which simply has no interest in the club means that infrastructure issues and projects are a real struggle -it is disappointing when clubs in other local authority areas seem to get backing from their Councils.
Why should the local Authority be the main source of infrastructure improvements? I’d much rather the LA financed homes and health and if they were to provide financial support - it would be for job creation and sustainability.
Clubs may have to do more to help themselves.
some will some won’t, some are capable, some aren’t.
In football it’s cyclical. Look at previous big clubs who are floundering,,,, why does that happen?1 -

..... and headed by Dunbar United! How times have changed. Two clubs which have gained their SFA licences and are prospering on and off the park.
To be fair, the Groundhopper day probably lifted those clubs participating numbers considerably. It has probably doubled the normal match day attendance and put about 30+ onto the season average. The Groundhopper day has slewed the average and biased it a little bit.
But overall the same sort of profile would have emerged.I’m told that the Groundhopper attendances were independently verified.
Overall it’s great picture and very useful bit of information.

Interesting numbers,,,,
One club seem to almost entirely have an attendance ending in ‘0’

I don't know why you've got the hump so much about Glenrothes beating Dunbar. it should of been 3-0 if we go by your sense of the game having 10 minutes less but unfortunately the game is 90mins long and the score was 3-2
to try and blame the pitch is a rotten excuse good teams and players adjust to the conditions and warout is definitely not the worst pitch I've played on
don't even know how to respond to the linesman excuse. seem to have done alright every other time weve had linesman. So if they are lucky enough to get promoted don't think they will blame any defeats on linesmen
anyway after speaking to smally after the game and agreeing that first half was an even affair the glens were the better team second half and thoroughly deserved their win
Kirkcaldy are still better than Glenrothes
Not got any hump
Yep agree K&D look more dangerous than Glens

Still a very long way to go yet. A lot of football to be played, points to be won and lost.
But, Luncarty have put a spanner in the works. Fully expect some more over the next couple of weeks.
Obviously it was the result that most Dunbar supporters wanted.
As said earlier - the prospect of another East Lothian team in the premier is getting closer.
