  1. A good bit of information here. I thought Oakley and Haddington were Conference League winners, with the actual Division then formed from the conference placings. Have I been told duff again?
  2. It’s a 16 team division for a reason. The length of time required to play the games then factor in postponements and other external factors means headache time for fixtures sec plus players disappearing on holiday at the business end of the season. Theres potentially a significant number of various cup competitions to also be played. its not four relegated from 16 it’s a straight 16 whatever happens. Its sensible. Whats not sensible is the Lowland league being able to hold everyone to ransom re entry qualification and the general playing standard of some of the clubs. Unfortunately it’ll take years to filter out those that aren’t up to standard.
  3. Must be hard to accept for the ordinary supporter. When you’re up, you’re up. When you’re down - you just want it to stop.
  4. It’s not so long ago that Oakley were promoted as Conference B winners into the Premier.
  5. I think it’s a big well done to the guys and gals that keep them going. No doubt a lot of hard work, a few sleepless nights and also the continued difficulty trying to generate income. Or of course it could be that the regular 50 or so attendees are very sympathetic and generous in their financial support of the club. Which would be unusual
  6. They certainly got in the door first and adopted the pyramid structure. However when you analyse some of the historical facts on the WoS premier teams being relegated there’s Cambuslang, Petershill and Kilwinning with around TWELVE Scottish cup wins and a further eleven runners up. I’ve no idea what this would do to any weightings or rankings but there’s a winners history/tradition in the mix. Was recently at Somerville Park which can only be described as fallen grandeur at best. Dont suppose business plans and strategic vision were deemed necessary in those halcyon days. wonder where they’d now be if they had actually the foresight to plan and develop. Theres a lesson in there somewhere.
  7. Fair point HJ. There is a division full of teams that have went up. Not aware of any making a return journey down the way.
  8. Actually I’d say that most of the EoS & WoS Premier teams are more than a match for most LL teams. Over the past couple of seasons there’s only been Cumbernauld Colts who’ve beaten us. Separatelly we beat East Fife in the SC and certainly gave Alloa a very testing 90 minutes. I’m saying that in my experience, there’s not so much between tier 4/5/6 in ability. Theres also a few right good supported tier six sides that put many in the LL to shame. The whole thing needs sorted.
  9. Doesn’t that photo say it all - a picture says a thousand words etc. Great to see all the youngsters involved and supporting the team on the day. A memory that they’ll keep for a very long time. The Swifts certainly had those youngsters organised and looked after. They behaved impeccably and were a credit to your club. Very well done to all involved.
  10. Think that it’s time to have a plan ‘B’
  11. The fourth round is the quarter final
  12. Personally speaking Dunbar were worthy winners in each match. May the best team win and look forward to a home tie in Round 4 v Newtongrange Star/Bo’ness Athletic/Crossgates Primrose
  13. Wheres the Cup Final being played?? Did I miss it?
