  1. Was he with Stenny the second half of last season?
  2. Dont get me wrong I'm not claiming Shay to be an unbeatable amazing 'keeper or that I just think hes the better of the two.
  3. Nope, pretty sure it was Ewings needlessly coming out his box and kicking it straight to Stevie May who put it into an empty net, straight after that he came rushing out again and brought down the striker which should've been a penalty but luckily the ref was penalty and gave a free kick. We then broke up the park and scored but there was no need for it to be as close as it was.
  4. I'm sure The Monk was playing for Larkhall Thistle last season. Ewings had about 3-4 decent games last season and was very lucky not to cost us the Hamilton game at home. He has at least mental moment per game.
  5. Agreed! I don't think Ewings is under rated at all and expect Grindlay to start the season as number 1.
  6. Can't really think of many others, wonder if Murray was referring to new signings/out of contract players as well.
  7. Will probably see the usual loan signings from St Mirren, Motherwell and possibly Hibs to supplement the squad.
  8. Lithgow was on a fair whack with us last season I'm sure there's a few centre backs out there, perhaps some released from Spl clubs that could do a good job.
  9. Always thought one of Andy Graham's strong points was his heading ability.
  10. Where did you think he would end up? Was he looking for full time?
  11. When I said 'primarily' I meant at the start of the season, both McDougall and Smith were superb for us last season and I think they will quite rightly start the season as first choice but I don't see why Linton can't push them hard for their positions. I remember him being quite a good player and has a decent set piece delivery if I remember correctly, should do well and another good player to add to a squad that seriously lacked any depth last season.
  12. I'd imagine he will primarily be back up to both Smith and McDougall on the side which is something we lacked last year.
  13. Just saw Scott Linton confirm it on his twitter.
  14. Didnt get a look in at Morton or Cowden last season.
  15. I get the feeling that if McNiff wasnt on a two year deal he wouldnt have been here this season. Murray never offered deals to any of the players he sent out on loan so I dont see why McNiff would be any different.
  16. Smith has many qualities, pace isn't really one of then I'm afraid.
  17. Happy with the signing of McKerracher as well, mentioned on here a few times that he was the player from the reserves that impressed me the most. Very composed on the ball, likes a tackle and gets a few goals as well. Think he was one of the younger ones in the reserve teams as well, look forward to seeing how he progresses. Seen him play centre mid, out wide and up front so not really sure what his best position actually is.
  18. Delighted that the Scottish Javier Zanetti has signed up!
  19. Wouldn't be overly keen on Martin Hardie to be honest.
  20. Things are just getting silly now with some of these suggestions, wouldn't be surprised if we made an approach for released Dundee United striker Robert Thomson.
  21. Heard last night that Murray is looking to bring in ex-Gretna and Hibs man Fabian Yantorno to play just off the striker.
  22. Would be great if we could get McGinn but its probably unlikely, great player with a great future, also love how he turned down a year full time in order to gain regular football. Anyway, on the change of style/Jim Lister thing theres a few points I would like to mention. I agree with what an earlier poster said that as the season went on Listers effectiveness declined as other teams figured us out and started to nullify the threat slightly, he will still be missed but I feel that his effectiveness would possibly become less and less if he had stayed on. Also regarding the change in style, I'm wondering if Murray was getting at making us less attacking and harder to beat. We didnt draw many games last season and I think this is mainly due to when Murray came in we needed to win games, draws wouldnt have helped much so we were "all out attacking" to a certain extent, perhaps a change to something like a 4-2-3-1 formation could be on the cards.
  23. In place of who? Turner over him everyday for me.
